It makes sense once you think about it, Logan’s mutation could actually still be developing with his age but due to the adamantium it was halted at a certain stage, imagine how different he’d be if he never got it in the first place

Without it his healing factor basically became a super cancer but not like Deadpool cause he was one in a trillion
I feel like this was more of a retcon if I’m being honest Wolverine was over 100 years old when he met Xavier he went through weapon x in what the 1960’s or 70’s I can’t remember exactly but during ww 1 and 2 Logan didn’t have the adamantium yet. Logan was born in the late 1800’s like he was born during or right after the civil war if his mutation hadn’t progressed in a century there’s no reason to believe it would suddenly when hes given the adamantium and then stripped of it
@@drunkinmcirish23what I like to think is that his mutation was always there, but it was really slow, like genuine evolution to a species, Logan evolves into a feral animal that is destined to be the greatest predator on the planet. His mutation is clearly trying to be the best type of cannibalistic predator. For 60 LONG years his subtle mutations and appearance changes all happened at one time cause of the lack of metal poisoning. It just gave him every minor update all at one time. It might be that Logan would take 400yrs to evolve into a truly animalistic Beast. But his healing factor would've become far stronger due to constantly fending off metal poisoning. So evolution would be expedited. Which it already was for Logan.
@@drunkinmcirish23 it's probably a secondary mutation from the trauma of having all of the adamantium removed from his skeletal system all at once, triggering a second mutation. Like Emma Frost's diamond skin, which was developed under trauma afterwards. No major injury like this probably happened to him (a few stabs, bullet wounds and broken bones maybe) prior to Weapon X's experiments which any trauma then would've been stunted by him constantly having to heal adamantium poison in him on top of everything else. Like how he can only get drunk for like 2 seconds until his healing factor kicks in so he constantly has to drink to get even a buzz
Wolverine does get “Stonger” but he’s still better off with it. Not only in terms of having stonger claws but he can only be killed if his brain is destroyed and it’s pretty damn hard to do that when it’s incased in the strongest metal on earth
I think he could also get stronger in any case because the metal was affecting his healing ability, so his muscles weren't healing as well as they might have nor were his ligaments. What could have been a torn muscle before this metal was removed could have healed instantly without the metal.
not true, he would be even stronger and faster that Sabretooth. If you have seen the RockLee vz Gaara fight, you will understand why this would be. He always beat Sabretooth with the adamantium skeleton, was still faster in combat.
Yeah NO.. Wolverine before he goes feral becomes strong enough to easily kill Sabertooth. In fact everyone thought he did. But Sabertooth's healing factor saved him. Literally the second comic in this Arc. Wolverine #91. Sabertooth couldn't even put up a fight. In 92 or 93. Not sure which one but his presence alone stopped Juggernaut from trying to fight him, right after Juggernaut one hit Cannonball.
And his healing factor rivals hulks almost . Instantaneous. Gets crushed by a car shatter his legs and ribs. Stands up immediately heals and pulls a guy from the burning wreckage. In Madripor He rips his own hand off to escape a shackle instantly heals and kills two guys who were there to kill him. Sabertooth wishes he was as powerful as Logan during this arc.
I have sincere doubts it was Wolverine's mutation alone that achieved this. He had lived centuries without Adamantium in his body and he remained fairly consistent as a person until a couple of decades ago when he became part of Weapons Plus. I think the feral wolverine is more of his body naturally getting used to the poisoning, compensating and when it's the poison is no longer there, it had nothing to regulate the constant regeneration.
It's like the mutations going into overdrive to give him all the abilities he should've slowly gained over the last decades in a few days. His brain just couldn't handle it
Good call. They've gone with a couple of explanations through the years, but the feral animalistic state was a trauma response mutation after someone tried to put the adamantium back in and failed
Ehhh, probably on a similar level, I’d allow him to move a lot faster, and they’d be practically indestructible, but it’s not as invincible as adamantium
Nah! Fam! He's an Alpha Lvl mutant at most. Omega Lvl are those with the capability to affect a planet's size area at any given time. Mostly psionic mutants, planet buster strength/powers, and reality benders... Ororo, Iceman, Magneto, and even Gambit are a few exceptions given the particularity of their mutation. Yes, Gambit possesses an Omega Lvl. mutation... diminished given the surgery he underwent under Mister Sinister's scalpel, but an Omega Lvl. mutation nonetheless.

I remember when this happened back in the 90s. His bone claws didn't just become longer, it was a shock that they even existed. Before that, it was assumed that the claws were put in him by the Weapon X program.
It's a comics don't expect a lot of continuity or logic but it could be explained by the adamantium forcing the mutation to work continuously on the adamantium and already going on overdrive and staying in that state after it got removed.
could be explained that the mutation was still evolving over the years, but it couldn't transform logan because adamantium was there, so the second it was remove, the mutation just go mayhem and evolve wolverine in span of days, which should have taken decades
Either his mutation adapted to the adamantium, so when removed, the mutation became majorly excessive and unstable, or similarly the severe trauma from the experimentation and adamantium poisoning started another mutation phase, which becomes majorly excessive & unstable when the adamantium is removed.
The mutation is also deep in Logan's bone marrow. When covered in the adamantium it Hindered his evolution. In the wolverine silver Samurai had to get the healing factor from his marrow at the end fight scene almost killed him
In a way its like the metal was keeping him from going feral. Like a sedative. Personally I feel like a healing factor would do numbers on the mind and the body. I feel it would stress the mind and make you crazy and out of it. And I think it would make your body bulk up and toughen up in a cery intense manner.
Yea that's why logan is so strong You build muscle when you're cells are destroyed and rebuilt. His healing factor is pretty much a cheat code for that. I'd like to think a healing factor would work on your mental too but that's just me
His feral state is his natural mutation. If Stryker never gave him Adamantium, he would’ve evolved to that state naturally eventually anyway. The adamantium kept his bones from growing into his feral state. So when Magneto did what he did, Logan’s body progressed to feral as it naturally should.
@@UltimateZenith I don't think his faral nature is his mutation but rather an after affect of his mutation witch is a healing factor and over growth of certain bones thus creating claw having mutants in his bloodline. As a child he was pretty ok and even while he grew up he was chill for the most part but hated people the same way a mountain man does. This is not a mutation of his mind but rather simply his personality. Over decades of pain and exile many men would be much more feral and antisocial than Logan. I give him credit for being able to be as cool as he usually is. Again many men would be locked in a cage because they would not be able to be a person you could be around and Logan is barely that himself.
Muscles and simple internal organs heal first, the brain is what heals after everything else is at full health. He might actually become a genius as the beastly form is just a form of self defence, while his full potential is something like an alpha individual, enormously strong with beastly rage, but also inhumanly intelligent. I wouldn't be surprised if he evolved ability to levitate right at the time he starts showing symptoms of genius level intellect.
@@annabrenda8694 because without metal in his body he can’t be frozen in place like he could before. Now he’s free to move around without magneto sensing him
Adamantium poisoning makes no sense to me. To get metal poisoning the metal is slowly chiped off either but rust or whatever and it enters your bloodstream. If Adamantium is a metal that's so strong that it never rusts, how does it poison him?
Thats not how it works at all. Heavy metal poisoning has nothing to do with rust. Its metals being absorbed into the body and disrupting metabolic processes or binding with cells and damaging their DNA. At the very least wolverine would have died from a radiation sickness type complication because his body would have been unable to produce red blood cells due to his bones being sealed from the adamantium preventing red blood cells from being produced by the bone marrow
It's a comic, it isn't always logical but if we want to force logic. Strong doesn't mean unreactive. It might be reacting with his blood to produce poison. Also we don't know exactly what the source of the poison is, it could be like radiation.
His healing is supposed to remove the adamantium because it’s foreign but he can’t. So he just doesn’t heal fully he just heals around it- don’t focus on poisoning or anything just start there.
So it is "poisoning" in the we lack a better word for this condition that it is causing. In the very real sense Logan would be the spokes person for Chronic Pain sufferers everywhere. In one of the issues Logan mentions how it always hurts to unleash his claws as unlike a regular human they never heal the way ear piercings do so it is always cutting open healthy flesh, in this case he is flexing the bone claws in and out as they hurt more then the metal ones. His metal skeleton is poisoning him in the same kind of manner, sure he might not be getting actual metal poisoning in the traditional sense, but he is constantly trying to cushion his body from the metal so is body is filled with pressure pockets full of puss or blood which have to also be dealt with by his healing factor. He is dealing with constant pain so he drinks. Beer is more socially acceptable on screen and in comics, as it is cool. If he were actually alive Logan would have a vicodin habit that would make Dr House concerned. All of which thanks to his healing factor is being burned up faster then normal.
Because teeth & bones are made of different materials. His jawbones & skull were metal: the teeth were not. That said, if he lost some teeth there shouldn't have been a way for him to get them back, since they would not have been metal & so not had anyway to grow out of a metal skull, so...there is a plot hole here. Just not the one you were talking about.

Could this version of wolverine defeat the hulk though?
It makes sense once you think about it, Logan’s mutation could actually still be developing with his age but due to the adamantium it was halted at a certain stage, imagine how different he’d be if he never got it in the first place
It was more like he just never aged because his healing favor was too busy trying to heal the damage from the adamantium poisoning.. which was progressing too fast which is why his healing factor slows down even more through the years.
Logan was born in the late 1800’s like he was born during or right after the civil war if his mutation hadn’t progressed in a century there’s no reason to believe it would suddenly when hes given the adamantium and then stripped of it
@@drunkinmcirish23good point
Magneto : *snatches the adamantium*
Wolverine : Your free life trial as *ended*
Wolverine does get “Stonger” but he’s still better off with it. Not only in terms of having stonger claws but he can only be killed if his brain is destroyed and it’s pretty damn hard to do that when it’s incased in the strongest metal on earth
I think he could also get stronger in any case because the metal was affecting his healing ability, so his muscles weren't healing as well as they might have nor were his ligaments. What could have been a torn muscle before this metal was removed could have healed instantly without the metal.

His brain just couldn't handle it
Actually second mutations are cause by server trauma usally bodily harm...wolverine was torn apart
Good call. They've gone with a couple of explanations through the years, but the feral animalistic state was a trauma response mutation after someone tried to put the adamantium back in and failed
Now imagine if he had Vibranium covering his bones!? I think he would be on an omega level

So Wolverine lived for decades without his mutation going crazy but after his adamantium was ripped out he immediately mutated to a beast? Got it
It's a comics don't expect a lot of continuity or logic but it could be explained by the adamantium forcing the mutation to work continuously on the adamantium and already going on overdrive and staying in that state after it got removed.
could be explained that the mutation was still evolving over the years, but it couldn't transform logan because adamantium was there, so the second it was remove, the mutation just go mayhem and evolve wolverine in span of days, which should have taken decades
Working out would have a multiplied effect.
Yea that's why logan is so strong
You build muscle when you're cells are destroyed and rebuilt.
Imagine being faster when you're already fast.
“LOGAN! you’re not an animal”
“oh yes you are”
Hmmmm doesn't that mean he basically becomes a beast, kinda like beast only not very smart🤔. Kinda explans why saber tooth is more animal like too 🤔
facts
Yes he literally becomes noseless and goes feral
Muscles and simple internal organs heal first, the brain is what heals after everything else is at full health. He might actually become a genius as the beastly form is just a form of self defence, while his full potential is something like an alpha individual, enormously strong with beastly rage, but also inhumanly intelligent. I wouldn't be surprised if he evolved ability to levitate right at the time he starts showing symptoms of genius level intellect.

I would imagine its the equivalent of wearing a weighted vest for years, then suddenly taling it off.

Yea that makes alot of sense even in the movies the poisoning didn't make sense 💀
The adamantium is also heavy hindering his movements. With rapid regeneration as his power the adamantium is basicaly a nerf to him😅
Not exactly.
More weight == more force behind punches.
Weight classes exist for a reason in martial arts.
Plot hole: why his teeth don't look metallic
Because teeth & bones are made of different materials. His jawbones & skull were metal: the teeth were not. That said, if he lost some teeth there shouldn't have been a way for him to get them back, since they would not have been metal & so not had anyway to grow out of a metal skull, so...there is a plot hole here. Just not the one you were talking about.
So basically the poison acted as a controlling agent to keep Logan human
