Opinions on some of the cards: Cerulean dropped to 3 in my list because you're playing Serene, holding 4 is much harder than you think while keeping tempo up Snow Fairy I think is just plain bad - weak to Stifling, Lorraine 2, Vigor/common flicker effects - so if you're playing it then definitely not a 4 of Vaporjet Shieldbearer is an MVP - extra 1 damage on board they don't want to deal with bc Steadfast to mill again? Combine with Frostsworn and weapon to have full board control (also Automaton for Powercell) Frostbind deserves its slot for sure somewhere - preferably side Bulwark is insanely strong, I will actually call any Nico list without it just plain bad. There's 0% chance drawing 1 more card off a Bauble/1 mem utility is better than Bulwark
It’s great. I was at Regionals on the weekend and milled someone for 51. At home store milled someone for 78. They would have been dead to damage first but still.
As someone who has run too much aggro into these control and midrange lists, as long as the nico knows to slow down a little, they run the most damage prevention and reactive effects of any archetype. I almost feel like the nico player has to brick or play wrong to be unfavored vs any aggro lists. Once stabilized, nico can start to swing while holding up one or two interactive effects and quickly close out the game. (Just some guy)
As the guy that got 2nd at Michigan Regionals on Nico with the weirdass list, I can say Allies is definitely a hard matchup. You're hoping to get Vaporjet Shield out asap and find your Storm of Thorns to defend, while getting your Frostsworn out for board control hopefully But if the Allies player doesn't respect level up early, you can actually just outright kill them on like t3 🤷♂️
@bargleflash if I was debating between wanting to pilot nico or Lorraine, what would you say is the deciding factor? *just some guy learning the game*
