You can steal Grey Hungarian in chapter 2 from Bounty Hunting mission where you deal with the mad medicine seller in the cliff. Let him jump into the water & peruse him with his grey hungarian. I did the same and got it. But my favourite horse is white Arabian. A level 4 bonded arabian is less likely to buck you off while fighting. Mine bucks me off only if I go too close to the alligators or if Grizzly bear chases me. It has never bucked me off when attacked by wolves or cougars.

I got the dapple gray one for free from one of the first debt collecting missions. I don’t know why the guy didn’t stop me but he did say I could take anything as a way to repay his debt.
Oh my gosh thank you, I've been desperately trying to find a reliable way to get the Piebald Tobiano coat earlier in the game!! I will definitely keep a lookout during the chapter 3 mission :-)
I got my dark dapple gray from an early bounty out of Valentine. It might be the first bounty available in the game. It's the guy that's selling bad medicinal cures to sick people and he's camped out along a river that you eventually have to fish him from. He had the dapple and she's been with me ever since.
Got my Hungarian when we go hunt down the miracle cure guy, named her Nugs and had her the WHOLE game, she went through SO many situations with me and she was my only horse, I love her so much🥺
I stole this horse from Mr Wrobel, the swedish guy that Strauss sent me after. Just wanted to see if it could handle a battle better than my American Started which ditched at the first gunshot
You can also get a Dapple Dark Grey by doing the first Bounty Hunters Mission. Once the outlaw falls in the river your can use his horse to chase after him. Once you capture the outlaw and give to the sheriff. The horse is yours to keep.
In my experience, least skittish horses in RDR2 are mustangs and andalusian. Hungarian halfbred is good at shooting but too skittish when facing predators.
I just got one from Wrobel, one of the first guys I collected some money for Leonard Strauss on chapter 2. I went to his stable after taking all his stuff and the it was a Hungarian Halfbread Dapple Dark Grey. Beatiful beast!
Fun fact: the Hungarian Halfbred is better known as Nonius (or Nóniusz in Hungarian). They are usally carriage or riding horses, though they aren't used for sports like dressage or showjumping. They almost exclusively sport black or dark bay coats, with few or no white markings and I don't know if a tobiano coat is even possible in this breed. So I guess the developers got a bit creative there, which is fine, of course. Though I wouldn't mind seeing a beautiful black Hungarian Halfbred, which would be a bit more representative of the breed. 😀
i got my dapple dark grey a pretty weird way. when i was chasing jimmy brooks, there was an emergency and i had to save it and leave. after a while, i loaded back to the game, and jimmy brooks was gone and i'm guessing he died because he left his horse, which is a dapple dark grey. i kept it, and it's been pretty good to me ever since.
Yep at 4:03 that's how I got the dark dapple grey. I didn't even think to check the barn until I heard a horse! I didn't know that coat was uncommon until I watched this video! Still working on trying to find a silver dapple pinto Missouri Fox Trotter through a glitch though. I did get the brindle Thoroughbred from that race and stealing the woman's horse and found the perlino Andalusian. I've almost checked all my must-haves off haha. I just wished you could buy more stalls....horses are like shoes, you need one in every color
There is another way of getting the dark dapple grey, it belongs to the bounty in the first bounty hunt you can do in valentine. The bounty has a dark dapple grey hungarian halfbred. What i do is i capture the bounty, then go back to the place where his horse was, steal the horse and stow the bounty on it, then when i arrive at the sheriff's office i hitch the horse to make sure it doesn't disappear then turn the bounty in :)
There is a 100% chance to get one from the German debtor in chapter 2 one of the first debtors that you have to go after it is the closest one to camp and you have to rummage through his house to find things to make up for his death but if you go into his barn there will be the spotted white and black Hungarian every single time I’ve tested this all three times that horse has been in there easiest and earliest way to get one
Guys, there's an easy way to get the rare coat!! On your first bounty hunt some guy will jump in a river and you need to take his horse to save him. Jail him up and boom free rare coat Hungarian half-bred Tip: if you feel like doing something stupid or someone asks to play rdr2. Use. This. Breed! The sheer health of 8 is soooo good!
The Chocolate Roan Dutch Warmblood is my favorite, because next to the Missouri Foxtrotter, I found it to have the best endurance, especially when you buy the best upgraded saddle and stirrups from a stable, which means you can gallop for a long period of time, which can come in handy either during a race, if you need to make a quick getaway, or if you simply want to shorten the time required riding from town to town, and with the upgraded stirrups, you get a decent boost in speed.
Hi everyone, a guarantee place to find one is the very first bounty in valentine. Benedict allbright has it. When you capture him back track and claim your horse.
Her Hungarian Halfbreed: stands tall vs Grizzly charge My Hungarian Halfbreed: bucks me off vs single wolf standing 10 feet away + bucks me off vs cougar Hands down the worst horse I've used so far, she can't even keep calm in a gunfight for me, even at level 4 bonding. Three or four shots towards me and she totally locks up and won't gallop, despite trying to calm her. Going to sell her right now, I'm super disappointed lol. I did have some good times with her though, trampling enemies that were too close -- but she failed me one too many times when it mattered for me to continue to trust her temperament. I guess it's back to my Andalusian for now. Edit: I'm actually giving her a second chance (really it's like a fifth chance), the comments here really seem to suggest they aren't bad horses lol.
Horse bravery is pretty random in this game. You can get a brave Arabian and a scaredy HH. So in your case I recommend you to sell it to horse fence if you didn't buy the horse from stable. You then can buy dappled HH from stable or by other means and maybe you will get braver HH. I now ride piebald HH, it can face wolves but buck me off when cougar charges.
You can get the uncommon horse as early in chapter 2 while collecting debt. The polish guy has the dapple gray in his stable. You can steal it during collection for debt.
The Piebald Tobiano is very rare. I never saw one in the wild. Got mine in chapter 2 from an O'Driscoll. But you definitely get it in a mission in chapter 5.
I've found the piebald in the wild twice. Both locations were in odd areas though. One such area was to the north of the map close to where the appaloosa spawn is, i just happened to see ita colors through some trees and instantly went tracking it. The other location was to the east of the map on a path north of strawberry, past what i believe is little creek or something where snow and the forest meet. I don't have my game in right now so its hard to say specifically.
The best statistical version of this breed in Story Mode (Dapple Dark Gray) can be acquired for free in the very first Valentine bounty mission. It's the snake oil salesman's horse. Make sure to approach the man on foot, with your prior horse a decent distance away. During the second cutscene, Arthur will mount the salesman's horse to give pursuit. Note that if that Arthur's prior horse is too close or if you skip the cutscene, Arthur will be mounted on his current horse after the game loads. So don't skip the cutscene. Also a good idea to complete Hosea's first story mission before doing the first bounty mission, so that you can unlock saddle switching and stabling prior to acquiring this Hungarian.
I know it’s well over 3yrs since this games been out and I’m sure everyone knows but when you go with Javier in chapter 2 to rob a farm you can get lucky and get the rare dapple coat that’s how I got mine, you can also get it if you go there without Javier
My favourite horse so far was the stolen gray coat from my money lender friend. I felt bad for stealing her, and so I decided to keep her and treat her well. Her name was Goose. I love you, girl.
I had the dapple grey I called Belle through the majority of my first playthough. I just love their size and courage and prefer that over smaller speedier breeds.
Easy way to get the gray dapple is, the first money collecting misson in chapter 2. The guy who does not speek english. You hear the horse in the stable. I jumped in tru the window beside the door. Petted the horse, gave her some food. Artur can not open the stable door. I whent in, did the quest, searce the house for money, got it. Went out, in the window agein, petted the horse. Jumped on and just rode out. Stable door wen't up. Wisled on my own horse and just stabled this in Walentin. Prowd "owner" of a Gray lady Hungarian Halfbred. :-)
I always get the Dapple Dark Grey with the bounty mission at Valentine in chapter 2. I call her Hilda, and after doing the races with the NPC’s at Caliga Hall and Strawberry her speed and acceleration are pretty good too
I've been to that location a few times, but I never noticed any wild horses spawning there. Now I have to really pay attention to any herds in that area. I hope to find one.
@@lennysummers20 I'll try looking there tonight. I wonder if it's part of the update where they made more horse breeds available in story mode -- or if you just had a rare spawn. :)
Story time. So you were right on the money! This horse spawned in a camp on the road leading south from the lake. I stole the horse, ran a little ways, hitched to a tree and bonded to level one, went back to shoot the guys in camp because they were heatedly firing at me. I went back to the tree and the horse was gone. I ran around and around, I even went to my previous load file but the camp wasn’t there again. Your luck may vary!
I was out near Fort Wallace because i had tracked an American Standardbred mare and managed to tame her, after a little while of wondering around and leveling up bonding with my Halfbred following me around and i saw four red dots on the mini-map moving towards us really quickly and the next thing i know i see wolves jumping out at us, before i can try shooting them the new horse bolts (but i’m still on there) and my halfbred follows but only to get surrounded by them, i shoot one of the wolves still after me and the mare and go back up to see the halfbred completely stomping and trampling the other wolves. I’ve never loved Rdr2 more.
Besides the flexen chestnut, I wish Rockstar chose more accurate coat colors for these horses in the game .In real life (aka Nonius) they're black, dark bay or chestnut, sometimes with white markings. I wish they would have offered an all-black HH with the stats of the Dopple Dark Grey, which that coat is more in line with the Andalusian.
apparently "hungarian half-bred" is an alternate name for the nonius horse which is this horse's irl breed (from what I've researched I could be wrong!) I'm on my third playthrough currently and I've tamed a flaxen chestnut hungarian half-bred, I've noticed many player's in the comments prefer the dapple dark grey and the piebald tobiano which is fair considering I wasn't sold on the flaxen chestnut coat either until I searched up nonius horse coats and I noticed many nonius horses actually don't have pure white hair so I then decided to switch my hungarian half-bred's mane and tail to the brown/blonde that fades into white mane and tail and she looks a bit better imo if you're looking for a flaxen chestnut hungarian half-bred and can't find one I suggest checking near the fishing cabin (where you meet the fishing guy at some point who'll buy fish from you) I've had herds of flaxen chestnut hungarian half-breds spawn near the shore around there
My Hungarian throws me off quite often around predators even though it's fully bonded, gun fights are fine. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong while fighting predators on horseback, still new at the game and I enjoy it a lot :) Thank you for these wonderful horse videos they are really helpful.
the Hungarian from the guy who does not speak much english is always the first horse. Her name is "Hildie" and I never sell her. Such a brave horse. In one of my playthroughs I did not even bother replacing her, but usualy she gets her stable place once I get an Andalusian (who's name is always "Hidalgo"). Once I got the Andalusian, the Hungarian becomes my Hunting Horse. NEver not have three horses at all times: Hungarian (Predator Hunting), Andalusian (MIssions/Hunting/Freeroam), Nakota (Racing)
I was riding through a train tunnel when suddenly a grizzly bear ambushed me, had it been any other breed it would definitely bucked me off but this breed is tougher than nails. My Bjorn kept me intl saddle while shot the bear down. Love this breed man.

She’s the QUEEN of RDR2 getting to know horse breeds videos!!!! Thank you so much you make a fan of this game wanna watch your impressive vids no matter the occasion when searching for the right horsey! Ans I love this breed! Never lets ya down! Slow and steady wins the race! P.S. I don’t think they’re that slow
You can get the uncommon coat while retrieving it during the first bounty you can complete/do in Valentine. That’s how I got mine.
Keep up the good work danelie I really like your vids so far hope your doing good as well take care danelie :)
Aww thanks! Glad you enjoyed it❤️ I'm rewarding myself with a 4am bed time, life is great 👍 I hope you're having a fab weekend too!
@@Daneliecastsgames your welcome beautiful danelie and thanks hope u enjoy the rest of your weekend as well 😊
I just got one today in online and OMG I LOVE HIM. great stats, doesnt spook easily, and absolutely gorgeous. Almost reminds me of a cob.
your horse videos are simply the best !
I got the dapple gray one for free from one of the first debt collecting missions. I don’t know why the guy didn’t stop me but he did say I could take anything as a way to repay his debt.
Utterly adore the Hungarian Halfbreds, the Flaxen Chestnut is one of my favourite mounts (next to my Red Roan Tenesse Walker)
I got the chestnut for John in epilogue and named him old boy 2, in memory of his old HHB.
Where
This is what johns Old Boy is but he's silver dark bay which is inaccessible
I remember my first play though, I got the dapple dark grey one from the Benedict Albright side quest. I still miss Chelsea.
Oh my gosh thank you, I've been desperately trying to find a reliable way to get the Piebald Tobiano coat earlier in the game!! I will definitely keep a lookout during the chapter 3 mission :-)
Saint Denis horse spawn takes about an hour
Just found one at a bounty hunters camp used binoculars to identify it and now it’s mine
Fun fact Johns horse is also a Hungarian half breed. It’s the same color as the war horse from first game.
U mean johns starter horse rachel? Cus if so rachel is a thoroughbred
@@aubreypetty1761 no Old Boy, when you play as Arthur it’s Johns gang horse
I did that before but I tend to feel bad for the guy. Still is a great horse though.
Wrobel is Polish.
@@maniacsangel9046 close enough
@@Frodo_Shaggins it's really not, though. That's some retarded ass logic.
@@julesmcgrules3860 😂😂
You can also get a Dapple Dark Grey by doing the first Bounty Hunters Mission. Once the outlaw falls in the river your can use his horse to chase after him. Once you capture the outlaw and give to the sheriff. The horse is yours to keep.
you can even find the dapple gray hungarian halfbred in the first bounty option it gives you in chapter one
Thank u so much I have the mission an honest mistake just now and I really need the Piebald Tobiano in my life♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
In my experience, least skittish horses in RDR2 are mustangs and andalusian. Hungarian halfbred is good at shooting but too skittish when facing predators.
Thank you for the concise polished informative videos love your channel.
I got the Dapple Dark Grey horse so I can recreate Clint Eastwood's Pale Rider horse. She came out perfectly. Couldn't be happier 👍🤠
I just got one from Wrobel, one of the first guys I collected some money for Leonard Strauss on chapter 2. I went to his stable after taking all his stuff and the it was a Hungarian Halfbread Dapple Dark Grey. Beatiful beast!
Same here, I found a gold nugget in the saddle bag as well.. double score 😂😂😂😂
0:26 ah my one and only horse
Her name was Lucy and i loved her :((
The dapple dark gray can be found in the ‘Good, Honest, Snake oil’ mission
I found a dapple grey one in Chapter 2, it's the Horse you jump on to when chasing the Snake Oil Salesman after he falls into the river.
Thanks for the info. you are the ultimate RDR2 horse guru, Liked and Subscribed.
Well spoken and presented. Great job
On PC you can spawn a liver chestnut hungarian halfbred with pretty good stats.
The pieabald tobiano should have been uncommon because it is a lil hard to get but the dappled one is very easy to gett!
If you leave your horse a ways away and walk up to confront Benedict Allbright then game will just put you onto his horse at the start of the chase.
Although he spoke some German, he's actually a Polish.
i got mine from him
RIP Kate. You served me well, and there may never be another like you. F
YOu got so good video's and your voice is so nice to listen to. You earned yourself another subscriber to your page !
Guys, there's an easy way to get the rare coat!! On your first bounty hunt some guy will jump in a river and you need to take his horse to save him. Jail him up and boom free rare coat Hungarian half-bred
Tip: if you feel like doing something stupid or someone asks to play rdr2. Use. This.
Thank you again, I finally got my Tobiano coat at least earlier then Chapter 4 ☺☺.
Hi everyone, a guarantee place to find one is the very first bounty in valentine. Benedict allbright has it. When you capture him back track and claim your horse.
Her Hungarian Halfbreed: stands tall vs Grizzly charge
My Hungarian Halfbreed: bucks me off vs single wolf standing 10 feet away + bucks me off vs cougar
Hands down the worst horse I've used so far, she can't even keep calm in a gunfight for me, even at level 4 bonding.
Ryeshine do you remember what chapter you were in?
While on my dappled gray I’ve literally chased down bears, meanwhile my piebald drops me on the ground the second it sees a gator lol
Absolutely fantastic video!
I know it’s well over 3yrs since this games been out and I’m sure everyone knows but when you go with Javier in chapter 2 to rob a farm you can get lucky and get the rare dapple coat that’s how I got mine, you can also get it if you go there without Javier
This horse is special to me because I'm a Hungarian Halfbred myself (Hungarian/Australian)
My favourite horse so far was the stolen gray coat from my money lender friend. I felt bad for stealing her, and so I decided to keep her and treat her well. Her name was Goose. I love you, girl.
You can also get the dapple through the first bounty hunt. He will always have a dapple halfbred.
I love the missing beard on uncle glitch
My grey Hungarian halfbred, Bella, is usually great about not spooking at gunshots. But one blew up a wagon and she sent me flying 😂
you can also get the black and white one from the mission coming back from guarma
I had the dapple grey I called Belle through the majority of my first playthough. I just love their size and courage and prefer that over smaller speedier breeds.
Because they are brave, I had the most collisions while riding one where other breeds would change direction to avoid running into things.
I call her Hilda, and after doing the races with the NPC’s at Caliga Hall and Strawberry her speed and acceleration are pretty good too
I have found the piebald tabiano in the wild. Although it’s very rare to find it there a possibility. It’s near owijila lake😊 hope this helps
I've been to that location a few times, but I never noticed any wild horses spawning there. Now I have to really pay attention to any herds in that area. I hope to find one.
Robby Bobby I found one of the near the stream but like I said this is a rare spawn but there is a chance😊
My favorite breed, for sure! I love Lurtz, my Uruk-Horse with his white face! 😬
I wish they would have offered an all-black HH with the stats of the Dopple Dark Grey, which that coat is more in line with the Andalusian.
apparently "hungarian half-bred" is an alternate name for the nonius horse which is this horse's irl breed (from what I've researched I could be wrong!) I'm on my third playthrough currently and I've tamed a flaxen chestnut hungarian half-bred, I've noticed many player's in the comments prefer the dapple dark grey and the piebald tobiano which is fair considering I wasn't sold on the flaxen chestnut coat either until I searched up nonius horse coats and I noticed many nonius horses actually don't have pure white hair so I then decided to switch my hungarian half-bred's mane and tail to the brown/blonde that fades into white mane and tail and she looks a bit better imo if you're looking for a flaxen chestnut hungarian half-bred and can't find one I suggest checking near the fishing cabin (where you meet the fishing guy at some point who'll buy fish from you) I've had herds of flaxen chestnut hungarian half-breds spawn near the shore around there
I've seen piebalds spaw with lawmen when you have a max bounty.
I have the turkoman but i still have this horse in my stable
Absolutely adore my dapple grey HH.
I was riding through a train tunnel when suddenly a grizzly bear ambushed me, had it been any other breed it would definitely bucked me off but this breed is tougher than nails. My Bjorn kept me intl saddle while shot the bear down. Love this breed man.
