Bravo Dinesh Sir ... very conceptual and deep rooted... there are many auto enthusiasts who are passionate about cars/bikes but want to stay understated.. I am sure they are part of your fan club 😀 .. Thank you..
So easily explained bro 👌🤟👍👏. Long time back I had seen many videos on this topic when I was trying to research the difference between AWD Vs 4WD Vs 4x4. None of them did any justice. Today, your video just happened to pop up and I saw it casually. Now having owned and 4x4 myself, I can relate to your experience and explanation. I would say... you have a knack of explaining it in simple words, without getting too much into the technical details like differential locks and their mechanism etc, etc. Put simply... a job well done 👌🤟👍👏
Just sharing my experience here, if you have a large SUV, awd/4wd would fare better, if you are driving a hatch or a lightweight SUV FWD can actually help in slippery conditions.
Excellent video! Sets expectations right especially when most car sales people or OEM parts dealers suggest infinite useless things in the name of offroading.
Informative. Experience matters, if you're coming from south to North. Here in Boston, almost all of the vehicles are mixed with fwd,awd and 4x4 trucks. Key is Experience! People from Texas will crash or slip with same vehicle vs whom are already living in Boston, Massachusetts. For me: I drive to Canada where its snows 25% more than in Boston. Last year, I got the all 4 winter tires in my Toyota camry FWD and it made DAY N NIGHT difference. So now, every winter, i will be installing winter tires. Why? your fwd car winter tires can go FASTER then awd cars if they have all seasons tires.
Not many people know about the difference between 4x4 and AWD cars. You didn't go into much of technicality but covered it conceptually. Thanks. Some factors which differentiate 4x4 from AWD are as follows: 1. Torque multiplier. At low RPM , they are able to generate massive amount of torque and transfer it in all 4 tyres. That multiplier is missing in AWD 2. This is not necessarily true but most 4x4 vehicles also come with differential locks either Auto/ Manual and/or Front/Rear both. AT tyres + 4x4 + Differential lock will solve almost 99.99% of scenarios (In India). For remaining scenarios, you may need other accessories like a snow chain in excessive snow etc.
i have booked a hilux, 90% of the time i will be using it on the highway and town, should i get the stock bridgestone HT tyres swapped? i read that company tests its products on stock rims and tyres and hence i do not want to tweak the comfort and mileage too much. i like the look of BF goodrich ko2s, but its an expensive exchange for 80k@@vijaydas7590
Excellent video. Most 4x4 s these days come with factory rear differential lock. This is better in cross axle loss of traction situations. For very advanced 4x4 driving, twin differential lock is better but you may have sacrifice steering.
I stumbled across your video because its an area of interest. Was pleasantly surprised. You know your stuff, and made total sense, something relatively rare on UA-cam 😀 Kudos, from Switzerland 👍🏼
This information I expect from you from long time b Bcz many people trying to convince me buy compact SUV or fwd But I hold for your all train information Thanks 🙏 RAM RAM
Correction. Hexa is not fwd but 4wd proper with ladder frame. Only diff in the transfer case is it doesnt have low. Apart from that its a rear drive front optional
Thant's why I went for Scorpio N Z8 4X4 AT inspite of everyone saying what will you do with a 4X4 since majority of people buy it only for looks. For me SUVs are only ladder frame 4X4 vehicles, rest are station wagons or cars. In fact Scorpio N is only sold as a 4X4 in Australia coz they will probably laugh at a 4X2 SUV.
true....SUVs are a joke in India. people won't even believe if. you call a fwd vehiicle suv in the west. Indian is a less matuured market since we have recently started treating a car as a need instead of a luxury,so anything and everything sells.@@Real_Bolero_4x4
Good informative video... Request you to make a video for different types of 4x4 vehicles... we see many variations now being offered by manufacturers... Discuss some use cases so that a prospective buyer will get the knowledge to make the right choice of technology... Thank you very much for this video.
Bhale zmane m i20 elite (17") (225/45-r17) se snowy and slippery Rohtang Pass cross krne ka mouka mila tha..tb realize hua ki car or tyre hi nhi mindset and company bhi good honi chahiye adventures k liye fir apko koi chij nhi rok skti.. ❤
Very good information you have provided. Actuality even fwd will work if you have right tyres. Of course a full time proper 4wd like Toyota full time fwd are excellent for most conditions even with only one diff lock
This is exactly what I wanted Can you please share your valuable suggestions as to how we can improve the capabilities of our vehicle. Thankyou so much
Good morning Dinesh.. Lot's of love and good wishes with new Partner (vehicle). Now real ambassador of snow desert areas and Himachal with HP reg. vehicle no plate... DCV means.. Leh, Zispa, Zanskar, Padum, Komic, Darcha, Manali and Pass. Zanskar valley tour.. Unfogatabe.
Informative and nicely explained. I was curious what about rear engine cars ? Rear engine rwds are they better than front engine fwd/ rwds ? Are there any such model in India. Nano was a rear engine rear wheel drive but that was a tiny car, but is there any mainstream rear engine car available on India currently?
Amazing content and excellent explaination about all the car types, thanks for this informative video. Looking forward to you so that by sharing this kind of informative video we can also think of upgrading our cars from stock to get the best experience in off-roading.
Thanks for transfer knowledge to us bro and slz suggest to me some points if possible :- 1. kya hmm front wheel drive ke tyres me chalin dal k snow me rear wheel drive se better ho paye ge. 2. Snow me tyre pressure kya rakhe , ager tyre ko chain dalni hai to tyre pressure kya kre front wheels ka
Very informative video. Jo log chillate hain lord Alto lord Alto woh log dekhna chahiye ye video. Ek FWD ko cabin load ke sath chadhne mein dikkat hai au RWD ko cabin load ke bagair. Behavior mein difference hai kyun ki dono alag type ki gaadi hai. Sayad Dinesh bhai ke video se kuch unko samajhne ko mile.

Some situations for front wheel can be handled by snow chains - self tensioning types
Very nicely explained! You covered all the aspects so clearly. Your breathing was a bit heavy is that because of the altitude?
