When Daniel Morgan who was born around about 1736 was a young man it was still well before 1776 and the Declaration Independence. The French Revolution started in 1789 after the US had already won it's war for Independence.
For those who don’t learn about early American history before the revolutionary war the French and Indian war was a smaller conflict attached to the larger 7 years war between Britain and France. After the french surrendered and gave up all their territories in north america to either the British or Spanish. American colonists believed that they would be able to expand westward into the Appalachian mountains and the Ohio valley on the other side. However the British didn’t want to raise hostility with the natives living there who had been fighting against them with the french so the colonists were barred from traveling west. This was one of the first reasons why the revolutionary war started.
Everyone forgets these days how both important and commonplace religion was, well, everywhere, before the middle of the 20th century. As well as the fact that priests were just everywhere and that the religious motives of expansion and colonization were at least equal to the financial ones, for everyone, so of course there’s just going to be a priest around, they were the ones making most of the records for a long time. Edit: keeping pow's fed and guarded is a significant challenge, and until WW1, Europeans and Euro-descended people fought wars like gentlemen, even Napoleon.
Lol homie the US has colder winters than canada alot of the times. atleast where i live and i live in one of the hottest places in the us - the south - , the snow sucks no matter how used to it you are tbh. the americans at the time lived in only cold or humid hot areas so they were more than fine fighting in snow, most of their plight came from not having food tho, that sucks. bad
You should check out thevstory about Henry Knox moving the guns captured from Fort Ticonderoga to Boston in the winter for General Washington. They only lost one gun out of about 20 they captured. Its an amazing story...especially since Henry Knox was a slightly overweight book seller and not a professional soldier at the time. He later became President Washington's Sec'y of War.
Hell yeah more fat electrician. He makes me feel so patriotic 😂also glad ur back Mel, big dubs

It's mainly it's never a good idea moving military forces through the snow. 😅

America has fought Russians in winter and won every battle before everyone in the Entente left their intervention in the Russian Civil War
Well, as far as Nathaniel Greenes nickname, since Quakers are pacifists, it definitely is a unique one.
