I recently cleared the years of storage out of my shop, shined up the tools and got it in order. Now I'm bringing things back to life in my spare time. It has improved my attitude, my health and my outlook. Thank you for the inspiration Mustie!
Ajaxaxxess VERY good for a guys soul! I hung up my tools after 30 years of wrenching and didn’t realize how much I needed to continue until Mustie videos reignited the fire in me.
No such luck in my apartment, still I got to fix the gas stove and the washing machine last week with the handful of tools I can keep in here, made my wife really happy. I do have a tool shed at the holiday cabin (mostly carpentry stuff, as that's my main hobby), but I can't get there as often as I'd like to. Yeah, Mustie's videos are truly inspiring even if I'll never reach his skill level.
@@joolwing Yea i was an I.T. guy for years. Sold everything and moved to the country. I work on all kinds of stuff. As of late old video games have taken my interest.
Ajaxaxxess nice! I was also an IT guy many moons ago and like you, moved to the country. Of all of the old video games I had, Intellivision was my favorite.
Brings back memories. Use to work at a cart track 42 years ago. Yes, I am old. It was a dirt track in Phoenix AZ. We oiled the track to keep the dust down. To much fun when it rained. Between the oil and water, it became a skating rink. Of course we had to close and only the employees had fun. I will not mention what happened after hours. Had something to do with the governors, LOL.
Love hearing you giggle like a ten year old while spinning that cart around, got to admit I would be just the same. Great video Mustie1 as usual, can't wait for the next one.
We should all find a way to have this much fun!, as they say laughing is the best medicine, and it looks like Musty1 has found an ample supply. Just don’t let the pharmacist find out, he will let the Government know, and they will find another way to either regulate it or tax it!
Mr. Mustie, if I may call you that, I have watched all of your most recent videos and some of your older videos. They inspired me to fix an old 1981 Jawa Moped. Two previous owners could not get it running. I found that the transmission seal and clutch seal were shot and leaking oil on the starter clutch shoes and running clutch shoes. I replaced the seals and clutch shoes and rode it for fun last summer. It tops out at 35 mph! Thanks for the inspiration. Who knew it was fun fixing small motor machines. Oh, and you sir are a master. You never launch parts across the shop!
I worked at seekonk grand prix when i was 19. I can tell you that this car is definitely from the "slick track". Also Seekonk grand prix is still open (never closed down), and a few years ago completely renovated the place.
They have a Slick track for go karts that's why the wheels are like that.... So much fun as a kid drifting those go-karts around Seekonk speedway Go Kart and Arcade....
I live vicariously through these videos. I have neither the tools nor the balls to try much of this stuff, but love it. Mustie makes you feel like you’re involved in the repair. Really cool.
I've ridden go karts there! I lived in Seekonk, 1710 Fall River Avenue, and graduated from Seekonk High. 👍 They had a great slick track back in the 90's.
Great fun! 30 years ago I was associated with a rental track that would bring 20 cars and a portable metal track to your event. We were rented at least twice every weekend and usually once during the week for a couple hours. As an employee we got very good at pushing the cars to the limits. When setup on dirt even with the metal frame it was possible to get the car up on two wheels left or right when you when you went into a hard turn and crank it. A few of us PROs actually flipped the car fortunately no one was injured. Later I built a dual chainsaw racing go-kart that could out corner a Corvette through a Cloverleaf. Luckily no one was ever arrested for being out on the public streets. When you're going a hundred miles an hour inches away from the pavement the feeling is unbelievable.
Awesome video! My local amusement park removed their go kart track for a few rides 2 years ago, and the go karts have been sitting out ever since. It's sad to see 301 Honda's sitting there. I may contact them soon and ask if I could get my hands on a few. Keep up the great content!
Nothing beats seeing a grown ass man having that much fun with a new toy. Ah, to be kid again. Really had a laugh n a smile this morning. Thanks for letting me come along for that smooth ride.
Hey Mustie lad, thanks for the master cylinder free-play tutorial, that really explained some of my brake problems on a free, totally neglected and abandoned go-kart I'm trying to fix, great videoes as always---very addictive too.
Haha Seekonk Grand Prix is right near my house. These go karts were used on their “slick track” you could slide them around pretty good. Hell I probably rode that go kart when I was younger.
We men, are just little boys at heart! I did not ride in a go cart until I went to an amusement park in my 20s. No matter how old you get, you never forget the incredible fun you had as a kid. That is five minutes from my house and I have definitely driven those go carts probably hundreds of times from the time when I was a kid all the way up until my adulthood
Doing those skid turns brings back memories of doing those with my Schwinn two speed fat tire bike when I was in grade school. I think we left skid marks just about as long on my parent's driveway. Thanks for the memories and the laughs you give both past and present, especially your laugh, when the fun hits the fan.
I really enjoy hanging out while you're wrenching. And it's always fun when you bring an old toy back to life. I bet there's a lot of tuning you can do on these things.
Mustie needs to take his cart there and tear up the track !! LOL Like the guys that bring their own golf cart to the course, Mustie brings hopped up track car to the theme park and punishes the 10 year olds .....haha !!
You can hear the kid in him come out when he’s hitting the brakes and spinning the back end around 😂😂that should make anyone chuckle!! Great video as usual
Thanks for the video! Thanks for the explanation of how a master cylinder works. I had the basics figured out, but now I now understand why they need to be bench bleed. Your words didn't fall on deaf ears!
Scott Hardin We are weird? They have 50 pairs of shoes they never wear, can’t pass by the shoe OR cosmetic section of a store, and always always have a hair and nail appointment. But we are the weird ones? Oh well, they are worth it (I guess) - haha.
Seekonk Grand Prix used to have two outdoor tracks. One was a typical “family” go cart track, lined with a metal bar that matched up with the bar that the other guy removed and old tires for rebound. The other track was the fun one; an oiled down slick track. It was a simple oval but fun as hell to whip those tanks around the corners and bounce off of unsuspecting 10-year-olds and the metal barriers. They’ve done some recent renovations with a new ropes course, bumper boats, a couple kids tracks a big arcade and rock climbing. I think they eased up a bit with the oil on the slick track though. I remember it being much more dangerous (fun)
MAY THE LITTLE KID IN YOU NEVER DIE. Burning rubber in a kiddie car, shame on you. LOL Great job explaining brakes. May you enjoy the 'one tire fire' for years to come. Thanks for sharing.
You might enjoy what they call slick track racing. They are often indoors. They make the track with concrete, but put a very smooth finish on it, and use slick tires. Makes the corners really fun. I don't know if they have any near you, they are kind of hard to find.
