I'm the rogue in this video, please continue to absolutely roast the fuck out of my UI. I'm dead serious when I say I had no idea it was as bad as it is in this video 😆😆 I've since repented for my sins, I overdosed on add-ons and I'm on the road to recovery... and hopefully a higher rating.

@@tropzx yeah I went in and cleaned that up today, It was Gladiusex and I ended up uninstalling it for Gladius and just that alone makes things a lot cleaner (those party frames on the left side are gone now). I gotta mess with my threatplates to get less bloat on the health bars and I need to either uninstall gladiatorlossa and just learn all the different symbols for the cds or I need to make gladiatorlossa not call out every little detail like that, it is just way too much at default settings.
Not gonna lie, this is one of your best videos. Your typical banter along with providing actual feedback (especially since you can focus on watching and aren't playing) is a great combination. Would love to see more! :)

do more of these vids. actually extremely helpful to hear high rated players talk about arena in ways that most dont. like UI, things people are doing wrong and explaining why its wrong
I agree its helpful, however sadly i hear people say stuff like “Well, mes is a blizzcon champ and he has a lot of info on his screen” my point being, that sometimes even high rated players make mistakes and could improve. Even cdew called out mes’ UI and i believe now he also has a cleaner setup.
Gladiatorlossa can be very helpful. The problem is most people download it and never open the addons settings. Before you use it, you should go into the settings and turn off everything. Than afterwords slowly read through all of it and only turn back on key abilities that can win or lose a match
Was looking for this comment. I think theres also a throttle spam feature. I use it on MSBT too so I dont get confusing damage numbers everywhere. I also set minimum value damages before they are shown. I dont care about 200 or 2k ticks, I only want to see damage above 6-8k. Cleans up the screen a lot.
I use LOSA but it is definitely necessary to go through the class spells 1 by 1 and turn off everything you don't need to hear.
Just download it full settings and go into rbgs

Exactly im glad and use losa. You just have to turn it off for a lot of things. I leave it on for things like incarnation, combust, etc. Mostly so I know when to trade defensives or save a teammate without looking or even if I miss seeing the icon.

you can control every ability that GladiatorLoSSa says, people just don't bother. I have mine very fine tuned for just major cc and giant CD's, it's nice for calling polymorphs and stuff on my shaman cuz sheer is a lot to keep up with visually

LOOOOL. This video spoke to me. I use BigDebuffs and Gladius and didn't even realize the big debuffs covers the DR timers for gladius. Immediately went and changed it

I use gladiatorLOSA but if you want maximum, noncluttered value for it you have to go to the settings and trim it down. It's training wheels and its really for bad players like me but I can hear from a mile away if my teammate's getting blinded and Im getting vendetta'd because those are probably the biggest signals you need to use trinket / defensive.
A well set up weakaura is infinitely better though
To be fair, gladiatorLOSA is super nice, if you actually turn off all the clutter and just use it for major cooldowns

It’s redundant. If you’re tracking cds and have any ounce of awareness all it does is just add audio clutter. Builds terrible habits for new plays too because instead of actually paying attention to enemy debuffs/buffs they are relying on it to do it for them. Exact reason you won’t see any halfway decent player using the addon because if you’re playing the game properly you should already be seeing majority of the things it’s telling you.

@@timothybraun3796 Depends on a persons skill level and play style. It helps a lot of people, especially healers like myself. I'm generally looking at friendly healthbars, not enemies. It's easy stuff to miss for some people. Definitely helps me anticipate damage just by simply hearing "serenity" or something similar.
@@timothybraun3796 some people pay more attention to audio cues than visual is the first thing. And another is pro players usually don't use it because they have good communication with their teammates, which you don't have in random solo shuffle

I've fine-tuned this bad boy to only scream about the enemy heavy-hitting cooldowns. It's not just an add-on - it's my personal hype machine, transforming me into a beast in the arena.
As a man with a plan, I roll into every arena fully aware of the cooldowns I need to save for those precise, game-changing moments. Trusting Gladiatorlossa to make the call when it's go-time, I don't even have to waste a thought on it. Abomination limbs? Please, Gladiatorlossa's got that covered before I can blink. One swift 'no thanks' and the boys are leap of faithing out of there in no-time.
Let me make this crystal clear: with Gladiatorlossa, it's not about playing a game to the best of your ability - it's about dominating with no effort. If this was up for debate I would have loved to hear your thoughts on it. Get on the Gladiatorlossa train or get left in the dust - your call.
This is really helpful! My UI isn’t as cluttered as this, but this made me realize I have a few overlapping icons blocking info as well. More vids like this would be great!
Honestly, it’s nothing but up for this dude. He already has the game knowledge of which target should be killed each round, and basically just got a 1 on 1 coach session on the script of making that target die (kidney vs garrote on targets, blind / smoke bomb, shutting down enemy go’s with your own pressure). Cleaning up the ui will go miles, better openers create more win conditions. Love the vid
You can customize what gladiatorlossa announces. If you don't have the awareness to track every large CD going out, which a majority of players don't; it's absolutely worth using and you're at a disadvantage if you aren't. Just customize what it announces.

The problem isnt the gladiatorlossa addon itself, its just his setting. you can literally disable every ability and then do it like me where u only enable offens and maybe certain defens. With default settings theres no way u actually can listen to the addon xd
Its a really good topic, have had this discussion numerous times with guildies / mates. For some reason people that have issues tracking something think the solution is to overflow their screen, while the real fix would be to keep reminding yourself to be mindful of it and have patience learning this. The “Quick fix” philisofy is slowing their learning curve and causing major damage to their awareness. Im no saint, i think most of us have tried to do this at one point, i know i have. “Less is more” is really a fitting saying here.
I spent some time thinking about how I let my UI get as bad as it is in this video and honestly this happened over the course of several years as I often quit the game and come back months later. What I boiled it down to is I thought addons like classic numbers and Bajheera's threatplates looked cool. Gladiusex, gladiatorlossa, and bigdebuffs I downloaded and thought I could run with those things pretty much out of the box like you can with Gladius. It turns out that threatplates, gladiusex, and bigdebuffs at default settings do weird things when they all interact with each other (like having 8 blinds on my screen 😅or gladiatorlossa telling me every little detail like it all matters). Like you said, I thought having all these things would help my awareness and instead I end up subconsciously tunnel visioning onto my character's back to tone out all the bullshit on my screen and my awareness actually suffers.
Interesting feedback on Plater M+ nameplates in arena. I don’t think the answer is to remove them, but just blacklist more from tracking. For duplicate party frames, the only add on that hid default party frames was shadow unit frames.

Have to disagree on one minor thing tho, having an addon track which buttons you (and maybe even the enemies) pressed has HUGE value if you, like this guy, record your games. I use wow recorder to record every match I play and it has helped me tremendously to improve my game, to watch these back and analyze what I did wrong or could've done differently.
Obviously it should be somehwere in the corner for the screen where it doesn't distract you during the game itself.
It's great as a viewer, which you are when you watch back your recorded matches, but I believe his point is, as a player actively playing the game it provides no use. At least that's how I understood it. I also agree with you that there's benefit from when we watch it back, but that's us watching not playing, when it pops up whilst we're playing the match, it doesn't provide much.
@@Wolta No yeah obv. but you have to have it somewhere if you plan on watching your games back, is what I mean.
I have details "streamer mode" on somewhere in the lower left corner of my screen, where it doesn't distract me during the game, but I can always watch my recordings and analyze what I did wrong.
This was awesome. Never played rogue and never will, also consider myself somewhat decent *usually ~ 2k* but this was so good to hear your thought process.

Gladlosa works when u set it up to only allert on important abilities, most just slap it on default and Wonder when its calling put every rejuvenation and execute cast x)
Great video, great sport for allowing it to be used. I heal this CR/MMR bracket. It's brutal the amount of DPS that will absolutely not peel for you.
Awesome video, though I will say LoSsa is beneficial for some people. You just gotta pick what spells you want it to announce (i.e important shit). I used to use it a lot cos I can't focus properly in arena and I get overwhelmed by the visual.
I like it too, just the configuration part that's very annoying.

I used to have a lovely little add-on many years ago when I was good at PvP that told me when certain spells were being cast and it would have a nice notification on the screen with the spell and target. I basically just used this and Gladius and I was golden. I wish I could remember what it was because it was the best kind of add-on, just super simple and effective. I think the most important thing is to make use of the information you put on screen, and a lot of add-ons are soooooo overloaded out of the box these days and they often have crossovers with the info they display. I think if I had to pare everything back I would probably just keep big debuffs and that's about it.... And my modified Gladius Ex. I spent about an hour simplifying it and making it look nice, so it only shows the bare minimum that I need to make decent decisions.

You can customize GladiatorlosSA so that it only tells you when big cds or casts are happening. If you use it out of the box though, its terrible.
thats the same i think. i costumize it to the important things. like wings from pala or mindgames from priest. then its helpfull to reakt faster

@@packsw9243 Yeah I also have the mes weakaura. However clean audio is a life changer. Especially for a learning player who hasnt trained his eyes/brain to see certain things coming. Audio is like another dimension of awarness if used properly.

i remember back when i pvped in wrath,got to 2400 rating with just an interupt bar and i think if im not remembering wrong and an addon wasnt needed for this,something to show enemy frames,granted being on skype with everyone and knowing whats they have erases the need for an addon to track friendly cd's,so basicaly you only really need 3 addons to be decent
Gladiatorlosa can be customized lol. I use it to only call out big cds for a slightly faster reaction time. So like warriors is just avatar, paladin wings etc.
I always had this rule of thumb everytime I come back to WoW PvP: If I do BGs/Arenas, I would play with no addons, so I can get the hang of things, then I would add a few addons that I consider mandatory. I hate clutter on my screen, especially something that yells/mumbles in my ear and distracts me from actually playing the game.

If you can customize gladiatorlossa and actually went through and made sure you were only getting callouts for major defensive cds or offensive cds, then perhaps it could b valuable.

gladiatorlossa is insane and id go as far as to say its necessary for healers (i got r1 solo as healer). but you DEFINITELY need to deactivate 90% of the default things to make sense of it. i dont need 1000 calls for a lock fakecasting CB or any minor global the druid presses (natures vigil blablabla). but fear, poly, etc. allow me to press SWD without even having to look at mage frame 24/7 to see the castbar
You can change LOSA to only call out hardcast CC like poly and cyclone and that’s how I like it
Yeah glad losa is fine you need to actually set your preferences though. I’ve reached 3k+ a few times and run this add on and omnibar big debuffs

Most of the time I do feel like I am 1v3 in SS and being the DH, I am usually the go. I have to burst someone down immediately or I will be dead. Because I am not getting healed, and I only have so many defensives before I get chain stunned and deleted. I thought I was being paranoid until I started checking details and seeing that I was usually last in heals received, but always trying to peel for the healer when he was getting trained. Now my mindset is always “I am getting zero heals anyways, so I may as well play my own game and try to end this quick.”

I'm probably missing something obvious here, but why open with MFD kidney shot? If you're in stealth wouldn't it be better to cheap shot first, then MFD kidney? If you do a non-stealth ability out of stealth you're kinda missing the benefit of the stealth, no?
the standard assa build ppl use utilizes talent that lets garrote keep it's stealth benefits (silence+more dmg) for 3 seconds after breaking stealth (it's also why going for multiple garrotes if the enemy team is stacked opener is strong). it also utilizes a talent that gives you 30 or so extra crit chance for a few seconds after breaking stealth so you want to pump in that window. cheap into mfd kidney is a wasted no dmg global in this short window. opening with mfd kidney usually puts the enemy team at a disadvantage, the target either has to waste their trinket immediately leaving them open for next go or their healer has to heal all that damage and/or use a def cd.
This is probably one of the best WoW videos on UA-cam. Addon bloat is a real problem, and most players don't even realize it. You can't see what's going on in the game because you've got 50 addons spamming irrelevant and redundant icons all over the screen. WoW gives the player a ton of information through simple visual and audio cues. Addons amplify those cues, but are in no way needed to know what's happening.
I think a lot of people including myself watch videos of add ons that will “help” you but end up not really doing anything because there is so much overlap and I don’t know what customizations I need to do to make it better.

GladiatorLossa, only reasonable way to use it is to disable most everything and then enable few key things you really want to be able to react to!

That battle stance call out from the addon got me dying xD. You where spot on when you said that addon just says random shit that might confuse you more than it will actually help you.
You can tell GladiatorLosa to not say as much. For it to be useful you need to turn off like 90% of the defaults, which is a hassle. I basically only have it saying kicks. I might turn on one big dmg CD for each class too, just to know when the Go is happening. But having stuff like battle shout on, LOL no.

6:20 not only can you trim any ability off (mine only calls out walls and kicks) but I'm pretty sure there is spam protection so you don't get overloaded
People not adjusting their lossa is like having every single ability enabled by default on omnibar or something, there is way too much. It really should come default with only a few abilities enabled lol

I havnt played wow for a very long time, but i used to play rogue way back in original wrath. Im just curious, does cheap shot not exist anymore? Or is marked for death an ability used from stealth that breaks stealth? Back then we would open with cheap shot and THEN kidney shot.
It's more situational now for an assassination rogue from what I understand, the days of cheap shot and then kidney are pretty much gone. Especially at my rating if there is a situation to do cheap then kidney I'm sure as hell not good enough to recognize that situation. You'll see cheap shot used with subtlety rogues and certain outlaw rogue builds because they can press stealth abilities outside of stealth, but assassination rogues only have 1 vanish, no shadow dance, and you can't bet on getting a re-stealth from hiding behind a pillar very often, so assassination rogues primarily use kidney shot when it's off diminishing returns to set up a kill or to try to get defensive cooldowns used.
GladiatorSA id say is useful just limit it to big dps cooldowns and wall for all classes about 2-3 abilities per class
Rogues have always had one of the highest skill caps in my opinion.

Gladlossa is usefull, but you gotta take out 80% of the spells or it's going to scream at you the entire match. I only have it for things i miss sometimes. Like sharpen blade for example.
