The english songs they released recently got a lot of people calling them overhyped, but those songs are stuff they did for fun because of the pandemic. The english songs are entirely produced and wrote by westerners and BE is a collection of their older unreleased songs.

I think the general public will always say bts are overrated simply because of the fact that they haven’t experienced bts’ music to the full extent because of the language barrier. Yes, they have a couple of english songs but those are not what they initially gained popularity for and those songs just don’t represent the essence of bts’ actual discography. They initially became popular for their songs which they targeted towards the youth, about facing societal pressures and challenges. They also have songs about friendship, passion, hardwork, loneliness, and many other topics. Most people/casual listeners can appreciate taylor swift’s and harry styles’ music because they fully understand it. But not BTS. Their songs, their lyrics carry just as much depth, emotion and creativity. People just can’t experience it fully. Plus bts are phenomenal performers. I wouldn’t say they are overrated at all. Id say they are accurately rated.

The way you think is beautiful, everyone just see 7 handsome and successful boys and nobody knows what path they have actually came through to reach here. It was definitely much harder than a normal western artist, and as an ARMY, I believe there are artists with better quality out there but BTS have proven that they deserved everything they got. When I first heard of BTS I also thought like they are a bit overrated but after deep diving to their discography I would say they are underrated as an artist. Their artistry deserves more recognition, not many artist can make art like Spring Day or Black Swan. Most of the time people see them as like those usual boyband which gets the popularity from teenage fangirls or join the trendy hate train. But if you listen to their songs or read their lyrics without any prejudice you will find something to appreciate.

The english songs they released recently got a lot of people calling them overhyped, but those songs are stuff they did for fun because of the pandemic. They were supposed to go on hiatus after MOTS7 world tour but it got cancelled. After that they never really made any new music as a group. The english songs are entirely produced and wrote by westerners and BE is a collection of their older unreleased songs.

I think the general public will always say bts are overrated simply because of the fact that they haven’t experienced bts’ music to the full extent because of the language barrier. Yes, they have a couple of english songs but those are not what they initially gained popularity for and those songs just don’t represent the essence of bts’ actual discography. They initially became popular for their songs which they targeted towards the youth, about facing societal pressures and challenges. They also have songs about friendship, passion, hardwork, loneliness, and many other topics.
Most people/casual listeners can appreciate taylor swift’s and harry styles’ music because they fully understand it. But not BTS. Their songs, their lyrics carry just as much depth, emotion and creativity. People just can’t experience it fully.
Plus bts are phenomenal performers. I wouldn’t say they are overrated at all. Id say they are accurately rated.

When I first heard of BTS I also thought like they are a bit overrated but after deep diving to their discography I would say they are underrated as an artist. Their artistry deserves more recognition, not many artist can make art like Spring Day or Black Swan. Most of the time people see them as like those usual boyband which gets the popularity from teenage fangirls or join the trendy hate train. But if you listen to their songs or read their lyrics without any prejudice you will find something to appreciate.

Vast portion of this fandom that actually votes and streams for BTS comes from Twitter ARMYs not yt or insta ARMYs, they are mostly there for free clout let me tell you. I have gone through all these medias for years and my observation is most toxic ARMYs you'll find would on tiktok then insta n yt. FB ones are the worst cos the delulu world they live in is just horrible and terrifying. ARMY twt does have toxic side to it, but comparing to others it's really not much, and toxic people there get reported and cancelled right away unlike other platforms
