Hey you probably know this but definitely slot your antenna mounts so the wires go through otherwise it’s a pain to get them in and antennas don’t seem to like being joined. Sweet looking bar
Look really schmick Dan. The beauty of having square rigs, these bar design suits them extremely well. Plus the feeling of great satisfaction that you built it. Top job 👍
Fantastic looking bar Dan, great job with the changes you made. Also a well laid out video, with lots of info on each section of the mods. Probably your best video so far. Well done.
Cheers lads for another fantastic year of content. Great ideas and very informative practical executions. Merry Christmas to all of you and your family and friends.
BIGGER, BETTER, BADDER, BLOKIER, that's how blokes do it Dan, well done mate, be an individual that's what it all about mate. Just remember too Dan, that antenna spot on the drivers side could be used for a sand flag. also, the Hayman/Reese hitch on the front, great idea, I had one on the front of my forby and I made slide in mount to hold my vise, which was very handy if I needed it and I also had one as a step to get into the engine bay to work, because I'm a short ass, there I said it OK, haha. Did you only need one can to paint the bull bar Dan ?. Seeya Rob
Nice work. Winch cover looks great. That bull nose handle up top would look better if it was wider and shorter. But it also gives the lass something to hang onto while getting railed.
looking good! just a thought with the wheel arches/flares - might be worth trying some vht vinyl dye to blacken them, if you're interested in continuing the black and red. goes on like spray paint i love how you guys are young but still level headed and not making references to memes that no one over 25 cares about
Brilliant job dude looks sooooo good. Love the point on the earth wiring as I have run into a few issues with my car because I have a aluminium radiator that corroded because of a bad earth. Would love to see a vid on that as I don’t quite understand what I have to do to prevent it happening again. Cheers
I've recently used linseed oil on the unpainted plastic bumpers off my car and it works great. I've tested it on other surfaces and it seems it leave a sticky residue on anything smooth however.
for a grounding plain for ants you are typically at between 2-3 inch thick metal personally i would nmot use the arb bullbar as typical for what you are doing because it just no dense enough past the odd thin tree branch.. I'm inclined to run 2 uhf and 1 hf radio 1 uhf for narrowband and the other for wide band use.. and hf with ssb/usb/lsb functions I would also consider adding in vhf as secondary comms platform for marine and air contact... i would err on the sid4 of caution if using shims as a fixing point especially if using a inner diameter as a friction fit bull bars where you use a lock washer and 2 locking nuts to attach bull bar to vehicle Yes, welding a nut bon can be done however you likely to be weakening the nut doing so as what you are welding too is a different density as much as i like ARB bull bars none would be able resist an animal strike given the metal don't look like it is past a 1/2 an inch in thickness
What a nice looking rig! I love the shape of Bull bar as well! Ocam has done it again! I love that they supply everything with their products! Love the paint! Too nice for that get dirty! Suitable for driving around Toorak?
Nice work. Ebay leds are not waterproof and seam sealed ours still failed and the seller didn't want to know. Pity cause they fit these older bars real nice. Going back to original lights now.
Hey man, love the vids. Quick question, I'm trying to build a custom offroad/camper crv gen 4 and I need help fabricating a modern styled bullbar. Literally no one has done this before so it's one of a kind on this model haha. Any chance I could get some assistance of some sort? Could even use it for a video idea 🙃
Good job mate, bar looks good👍🏻 It'll be interesting to see how much shit builds up under the cover you've made. But a real bar is an RSJ with box section and expanded mesh and zero fucks given😜😆
Good work on the build. Now, I hate to be "that guy" and I know it wasn't a typical winching situation, BUT, you should ALWAYS put a dampener over a winch rope under load, even like this. It's best practice, and even in something this simple things can go wrong. We don't want to see those who are inexperienced making that mistake and getting hit with a rope.
Is it a tb42 or a td42 and what winch have u got on your patrol because I’m looking for one to put on mine and I can really decide on what I want to go on my patrol
Do you guys have K160 Patrols there on Australia? I have never seen one in UA-cam videos... Here in Finland it is maybe most common Patrol model. I all so have on whit SD33 (3,3L straith 6)
great video mate....who is the manufacturer for the bull bar mounting bracket? thinking to making mods to my arb bar :) BTW what is the total weight of the patrol as it is right now?
"Just having a crack". Thats why I like Aussie Arvos.
love the the build dan, would be cool to see the flares bedlined to match the rest of the car and bar work.
Hey you probably know this but definitely slot your antenna mounts so the wires go through otherwise it’s a pain to get them in and antennas don’t seem to like being joined. Sweet looking bar
This is some quality Aussie content. Keep it up boys! 👌
Look really schmick Dan. The beauty of having square rigs, these bar design suits them extremely well. Plus the feeling of great satisfaction that you built it. Top job 👍
id be tempted to spray the grill and wheel arch flares in the bed liner as well. The Bar turned out great.
What a good looking bar Love it 👌 would like too see a full detailed walk around of the whole rig . Thats 1 clean gq cheers for sharing
Nothing better than having a crack and getting to stand back and admire your work. Your guard flares would come up ok with some plastic dye too 👍
Gotta love the diy ingenuity that gets around like having fencing wire severed on nuts, uncontrollably bleeding DW-40 from the chassis rail.
Great work Dan. Turned out good. Suits the shape of the GQ really well. 👍👌
Absolutely prime bar design - I reckon we'll be seeing a lot of bars with that top hoop in future, looks sensational.
Fantastic looking bar Dan, great job with the changes you made. Also a well laid out video, with lots of info on each section of the mods. Probably your best video so far. Well done.
if you put a light duty hitch on the far sides of the bar you can see past your caravan when you are fronting it in and can get a jack knife turn
Love the winch cover, top effort mate!
Cheers lads for another fantastic year of content. Great ideas and very informative practical executions. Merry Christmas to all of you and your family and friends.
The ariel mount on the driver's side comes in handy i have one on my MCC bar and I use it for my sand flag so its not used 99% of the time

That winch cover 👌🏻so clean. Mounting the control box on top also makes it look excellent!
Bloody Beauty...maybe chuck a plug in the reece socket to stop mud going into it when butting ruts. Nice job.
As usual Dan with the incredible attention to detail. Love it. 👌🏼
Dan really is the man!! Great job fellas keep it up 👍👍
Awesome dan , I pick up a winch bar in middle of no were for free .. see ya on the tracks mate
You have as much power running to the negative as you do to the positive! THANK YOU. I swear to god I scream this regularly.
Nice work. Winch cover looks great. That bull nose handle up top would look better if it was wider and shorter.
But it also gives the lass something to hang onto while getting railed.
Great job, I've been wanting to overhaul my arb bar, you might have convinced me too add a top loop 👌
Excellent work Dan. As always, a pleasure watching you work! 🤙
18:30 That's bloody brilliant.
I always wondered why people have tow balls on the front of their rigs.
Mate that bar build is brilliant. Very tasteful and love the top hoop.
Dan Awesome stuff its a bloody good old back yard garage build ... very big thumbs up
Love the spray booth!
Dans build videos are some of the best

Bar looks mint mate goes with the rest of the build👌
Very cool. Thanks for the nice detailed explanations. Patrol looks awesome.
This makes me want to make my own comp style bar for my GQ now! Love the bullbar turned up so well 👌
Brilliant job dude looks sooooo good. Love the point on the earth wiring as I have run into a few issues with my car because I have a aluminium radiator that corroded because of a bad earth. Great work mate, looks mint!
Need some Rectangular Tubing welded in the corners of your Bull Bar and scrup Bars.
FOR YOUR HIGH LIFT JACK
Dan the man awesome way to finish the year with banger video
See you guys next year 🤙🏼
The flares would look mint in that same paint to match theme
killer job. maybe some plastic restore on the flares?
I've recently used linseed oil on the unpainted plastic bumpers off my car and it works great. I've tested it on other surfaces and it seems it leave a sticky residue on anything smooth however.

Great job!!! Love the fact you’ve thought of everything 👌
What a nice looking rig! I love the shape of Bull bar as well! Ocam has done it again! I love that they supply everything with their products! Love the paint! Too nice for that get dirty! Suitable for driving around Toorak?
Love the red and black, next the wheels need to be black haha
i would love a drag race between Patricks winch and the new ocam winch.
What a great video. Thanks guys.
damn, this sounds so camp, but Dan you looking good brother. far out, been training or something.
Hey Dan I reckon black out the guard trims would set it right off !
Great video Dan Well done guys
Looks bloody mint well done
Looks great. Excellent job 👏
Great stuff Dan
Looks Awsome mate, we’ll done 👌🏼🤙🏼
very keen to see what you put together for a rear bar if this is the quality you put out for bullbar and rocksliders
Great job looks mint, next gas struts for bonnet
Nice work. Ebay leds are not waterproof and seam sealed ours still failed and the seller didn't want to know. Pity cause they fit these older bars real nice. Going back to original lights now.
looks mint Dan, you need to paint them flares too lol
Well done!
That looks sweet, nice work 😎
You should spray your flares with that paint...👍...
Looks awesome Dan 👌
I think it’s bloody awesome!
Bar looks mint mate. Now can you please trim black those flares 🫣
Just need to spray the wheel arch’s with the dominator to tie it all in
Wow that's a clean rig
Come on you guys where's my Aussie Arvo Fix 😜😎
Absolutely beautiful looking bar. Fantastic job better than anything you could’ve bought good job mate.

70 kegs for a bar and winch is good, I was expecting over 85kg bonus is it looks mint
Awesome bar!
It does look really good. What has happened to summer in Vic?
you should do the flairs with the dominator pain aswell
Good job mate, bar looks good👍🏻
It'll be interesting to see how much shit builds up under the cover you've made.
But a real bar is an RSJ with box section and expanded mesh and zero fucks given😜😆

Mate it looks schmick, job well done 👍

Looks sick Dan 😫
I would be amazed in the place we call Australia, that any of this is legal.
I reckon it's awesome mate and like you said it's yours!
That looks soo tuff
Shit yeah, looks very professional. How many beers to help me do this to my ARB triton bar when it arrives XD
Do you by chance have the link to the new led lights that went in the bar?
Is it a tb42 or a td42 and what winch have u got on your patrol because I’m looking for one to put on mine and I can really decide on what I want to go on my patrol
Ether find a arb sticker for the original location or make up a Aussie arvo one to go there
Do you guys have K160 Patrols there on Australia? I have never seen one in UA-cam videos... Here in Finland it is maybe most common Patrol model. I all so have on whit SD33 (3,3L straith 6)
Can you provide the link for the chassis inserts.
Are you going to get a new ARB lable to stick in the recessed location.
Can you get level wind winches yet
great video mate....who is the manufacturer for the bull bar mounting bracket? thinking to making mods to my arb bar :) BTW what is the total weight of the patrol as it is right now?
More Dan.
