With this anthem, Trapt helped to keep Nü Metal alive and on heavy mainstream rotation in 2002/03. It toped a lot of rock charts and even got to No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also won several prestigious awards back then. This single was so good that it eventually crossed over to pop radio. It's one of the great singles coming out of the later Nü Metal era 🔥
This is a "turn up" song, undoubtedly. First time hearing on the video game "MX UNLEASHED" and all over rock radio. Reminds me of being 10 years old , again.
Context for when the original video came out (2002) : I was just about to transfer high schools in 2003 ( after going to a continuation high school up from 1996-2002, I was about to be a “senior “ ) and got to stay an extra year thus graduating in 2004 ( instead of making me a junior in 2003 ) and I was going through that time where when if you’re black and smart and introverted they label you “ weird “ well headstrong got me through that whole year ( graduating in 2004 ) and led me to be a comic book writer
Check out Graystone's rendition of "Headstrong"! They did an awesome interpretation of this song in youtuber Jared Dines' recent season 2 of his show "Musician Mansion 2"
I really love this song due to it helping me out during a time of deep depression. This song helped me really get my other problem, the fact that I am stubborn as hell! To do the heavy lifting when those other problems happen! Stubbornness can be a freaking superpower! And I was the geek/dork part!
First of all…the glass had me giggling 😂 Second.. I have FPE tattooed on my arm for The Few, The Proud and The Emotional because that’s what my friends and I called ourselves. I love TOP so much!
Yep, that was the last NHL game I ever played too. They all became clones after that. Usually the only thing changing was the rosters. Not as bad as FIFA/MLB games but the market got pretty stale after early 2000s for Sports games.
There are certain bands reaction channels react to that I don't like (especially nu metal) but click just to give them the views. I watched this on mute to be honest until the song was over lol
need more drowning pool, mudvayne, hellyeah, seether, three days grace, papa roach, ffdp, korn, stone sour, hollywood undead, nonpoint, tom macdonald, skillet, sum 41, bowling for soup, green day, blink 182, foo fighters, disturbed, halestorm, paramore
Bro, I was like 15 when this song came on and it would AMP ME UP!!! NuMetal is my genre and I was lucky enough to grow up in the era that it was just blasting off!! Bands like System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, Linkin Park, etc. Me and my friends were like, holy smokes this is amazing!!
you guys have got to listen to Trust Company, i absolutely adored that band, unfortunately they didnt make it :S you guys are the only ones I can see listening to them, its close to this
And we never heard from them again hahaha back when this came out I was really into the metalcore and "emo" scene.... Every Time I Die, Poison The Well, Saves The Day and Thursday were my favorite bands and I'd be at shows like 4 nights a week and sleeping through school haha
They played this song way too much at the movie theater I worked at when this song came out. On top of that it would play throughout the mall the theater was attached to. It's not a bad song but hearing it multiple times a day for multiple months straight kinda ruined this song for me.
If yall could react to Serpent boy by Hed p.e, id be so fuckin happy, they mix hip hop lyrics and metal with even a little punk it seems like sometimes, they are the shit.

Their first two albums are so good, stuff after were ok too but the singer went absolutely mental

NHL 2003 nostalgia!! This song played during the replays of one-timer goals. The replays were in slow-motion.
Yep, that was the last NHL game I ever played too. They all became clones after that. Usually the only thing changing was the rosters. Not as bad as FIFA/MLB games but the market got pretty stale after early 2000s for Sports games.
