Youre revving it out too high to the limiter which is losing at least half a second on each shift. Better to click up a gear before the limiter youll get faster times

+Tom Jardine It depends in what car do you have it. If it is a compact it might be underpowered (an engine with too little power also has high fuel consumption). If it is a small car you might want to work on your driving technique or you are just driving mainly in the city traffic where almost every car drinks alot.
+Tom Jardine mine does aswell, ford announces 7.4L/100 on city but I average in mixed driving about 8-9L with "spirited" driving What I notice mainly is that the car feels underpowered for motorway speeds AND also lacks torque for city driving The ECONETIC diesel 1.6 TDCi or the new 1.0L ecoboost engines are a much better choice.
+Alessandro Fradigrada It is very true, because I think the car holds the speed quite well. However with alot of city driving like I do daily (1 hour of city driving) plus going up and down hills I get 7.2L/100 and thats quite optimistic from the trip computer, with no a/c....
I have a 1.25 82 engine on the fiesta, seems to be quite heavy on fuel and only seem to be getting 30-40 mph at best. Is this car quite heavy on petrol comsumption?
I have one of these and average 42/3mph with sensible driving. Around town it will average closer to 36-8 Predicted range with a full tank is around 370 miles
These are the ones that caught fire right? And that sound Is it an engine or grandmas electric leg shaver? Also have fun on the side of the road in a few miles. This is nothing new. Pushing too much power from a little engine
Obviously not , it's geared too high it can't do a thing in 5th gear the is too high and not enough power to push it. , Better to be short ratio at least it feels more fun to drive the old mk5 1.6 Zetec S was brilliant
Yeah and that's my opinion to I think that the 3 and 4 gear are too fucking highly configured that's what make the 5th gear without enough power to go more deeper I want to know if the 100PS version are with the same gearbox configuration or not If yes i think the engine will never push in the 5th gear
+souhaib ben farhat At a guess i would say yes, as i cant see ford making a different gearbox for each power variant . Although not as bad its a similar problem in the 1.6 ecoboost focus too. Which why i bought a titanium x 1.6 ecoboost mondeo , its gears are about right for a 1.6 Shorter And more driver enjoyment although 160bhp its not bad but i did remap it as im used to over 200bhp cars anyway . However sadly the mk5 mondeo is too big and heavy for its 1.5 ecoboost
souhaib ben farhat If you were considering one of these ? I would strongly recommend stArt with the 125bhp and superchip it. I think of hand it should be about 150bhp that will help out on the long gears .
The clock was started after the car started moving and was stopped when the speedometer reached 98, which is only 96 real km/h. A correction of at least 0,5 s is called for. Factory data says 9.7=9.9 s, and experience tells us you can never reach those factory figures,
+Neee35 well since its a pickup and not a race truck the only problem i see is merging on the onramp but other wise it will be fine but tow rating will go down significantly from 7600 on fords current v6 to about approximately 3750 pounds but the 1.0 would need a 20 hp tune. but with the upcoming 10 speed it would be pretty nice vs 6 speed auto .

+Lukas Schulin Not sure where you are in the world, but here in Australasia they come with the awesome 6-speed Powershift dual-clutch transmission. I got to drive one just yesterday, and it actually felt better (on the motorway) than the manual with that extra ratio.
+sr36511 it might change quicker on upshifts but the downshift are slow, I took the manual and its awesome
gladly they finaly put a nice 6 speed box in the new fiesta.
@@sr36511 you mean the PowerShit transmission that has a class action lawsuit against it? Lmao!
In U.K. The new focus 1.0 turbo has 6 gears
I have this car..is really good on gas really. .no problems so far..is not really fast, but for the engine that is has, puts good power..
Sad that these are being discontinued in America. We are only getting the muscle cars the SUVs and the pickups
sadly the majority in america still thinks the bigger the better and they are far behind time.
I am glad i live in Europe and get the better cars.
Sick launch controll
It hit 124mph? Not bad for a 1 litre
But compressed,
That turn signal was my favourite part
The sound of a V12 - on a budget :)
1:51 Wow 4300 RPM in 200 Kmh, very efficient👍👍
0-100: 9.45s
0-200: yes
For anyone who shitting on the 1.0L engine displacement: it was never about displacement, but rather efficiency and power to weight. Current F1 engine is only 1.6L yet they can go from 0 to 200kmh in less than 5s.
start total km 11194 km- 11185 km :)))
Over powered? This thing isn't even struggling lol.
Unity101 what
It has very hard times to go over 180
What do you mean " over-powered"?
@@tiaanpotgieter2572 over powered? 125 hp / L out of an engine with a cast iron block? that's not even pushing it
I'm so glad these new 3 cylinder engines are replacing those dreary, gutless small 4 cylinder engines you find in superminis. Finally an eco move in the car industry that I can embrace!
Youre revving it out too high to the limiter which is losing at least half a second on each shift. Better to click up a gear before the limiter youll get faster times
0-60mph almost 10seconds Lord have mercy get this guy some HP
These are not meant to be cars for enthusiastic drivers. Simply economical ways to get around. You can get a Mondeo with the same engine. It's just about bearable. Would I buy one? No. It's not a car that appeals to me but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be available to those who are quite content with the minimal performance.
You can redline this car in first gear and change straight to 5th. Talk about overkill 😂😂
There’s a one off Hotwheels (full size and functioning) car with a tuned version of this engine with around 210 hp
Link?
Me: lol 1 liter engine, that’s pathetic
Also me: *drives car with with less hp and slower 0-100*
Did u start on second gear or something? cuz i got the same 1.0 litre ecoboost in a 2016 focus.
My car hits the rpm limiter on second gear at 75km/h and 3rd at 120km/h....
@0:32 Please never rev an engine whilst cold! You'll trash the turbo :(
BoeingvsAirbus1578 Look at the tempature.
Poul Hansen
I did, and as you can see @0:32 there are no bars representing the temperature of the engine coolant, meaning the engine is in its cold start phase.
BoeingvsAirbus1578 it has intercooler n three other engine cooler .devices .b informe
It sounds very good. It's got a howl similar to a 6 cylinder.
Ecoboost is tricky, You could get Eco or Boost.
Other than the mustang 2.3, 2.7 and 3.5, they're all weak and slow. I work at a ford dealership and the 1.5 ecoboost is the most gutless engine ever
I have the 1.6L Duratec TI-VCT in my 2014 Ford Fiesta SE and downhill could only push about 115MPH. It was stupid but in case anyone's curious. Idk if I could've gone faster, I don't even know if it had reached the rev limit. Don't look at your speed if going fast btw... It was really stupid.
Btw it has a Dual Clutch Transaxle, it isn't completely manual.
Everyone seems to forget the daihatsu GTTi. 1.0 turbos are not a new thing!
I remember these well. You a bass player by any chance?
200 kmh with 4500 rpm it's fantastic
Not bad for small engine like this
That's really going to do it some good! I've got one of these and they don't like to be thrashed!
What you mean? I have one too and as long as you don’t bang the gears and shift a bit slower, the engine loves long 2nd and 3rd gear pulls out to redline. And feels good at vmax in 4th as well
is that manual transmision 5 gear ?
+Rizal Azmi yes.
Gets quite a lot of power out of 1 litre considering my 1 litre Nissan Micra with the CG10DE was only 58ps and they rev about the same. Is it turboed?
Tim Lewis yes, with turbo and 125hp!
+Car Acceleration TV tty racing my chrysler neon bet you i will win lol
+Tim Lewis And Daihatsi Charade Gtt-i ? the same engine
+Joel Dale slowly haha this car are better aha
?
That's pretty fast almost as fast for a small car
Edit: I now own one it's very good 😂
ho acquistato la Ford fiesta Blach &White 75cv.mi trovo benissimo sia come prestazioni e confort ho trovato anche la concessionario M.Catone cortesia e gentilezza voto personale ,100x100.
1:07 ouch
Damn, not bad getting up to a reasonable speed.
I have a 1.25 engine with 82 ps, however it seems to drink a lot of petrol, why is this?
+Tom Jardine It depends in what car do you have it. If it is a compact it might be underpowered (an engine with too little power also has high fuel consumption). If it is a small car you might want to work on your driving technique or you are just driving mainly in the city traffic where almost every car drinks alot.
+Tom Jardine mine does aswell, ford announces 7.4L/100 on city but I average in mixed driving about 8-9L with "spirited" driving
What I notice mainly is that the car feels underpowered for motorway speeds AND also lacks torque for city driving
The ECONETIC diesel 1.6 TDCi or the new 1.0L ecoboost engines are a much better choice.
+cataxo444 Same.
My Fiesta (60ps) need in the city 8.0L
Just ridiculous.
+Tom Jardine I own a 1.25l 82PS MK7 Fiesta since 2008. My usual fuel consumption goes from 5.8 to 6.2 l/100km. Lots of town use (
+Alessandro Fradigrada It is very true, because I think the car holds the speed quite well.
Around town it will average closer to 36-8
Predicted range with a full tank is around 370 miles
Tom Norton They improve with miles on he clock.
I had the 1.0 ecoboost and didn’t have 220 on the speedometer
These are the ones that caught fire right? And that sound Is it an engine or grandmas electric leg shaver? Also have fun on the side of the road in a few miles. This is nothing new. Pushing too much power from a little engine
lifespan of this engine? :D
+TheDownloader86 ford says 400k+
+TheDownloader86 its the DCT tranny u have to worry about
+Seramics it's a manual.
+TheDownloader86 as long as you don't race the engine all the time, it will last a long time. They built the engine as strong as a diesel.
Zero
A 1.0 turbo charged engine with 125PS that accelerates about the same as my NA 1.2 swift with 100ps. Thats slower than I thought it was going to be.
Matthew Vincent - don’t think this guy knows how to launch properly tbh
Wtf...? This little car with a tiny 1,0 engine does almost 200 Km/h..? I'm impressed...really never thought this little car was so fast.
Kalle Klæp it has turbocharged bro
Ma 208 de 82 CV. Fait presque pas moins bien.
Êtes vous sûr de tester le modèle qui est indiqué ?
C'est quand même un moteur turbocompressé.
The Peugeot 208 1.2 82ps is faster than its claimed numbers. It can do 0-100 in 10sec if the launch was good
there is no need for the 5th gear hahahaha
Obviously not , it's geared too high it can't do a thing in 5th gear the is too high and not enough power to push it. , Better to be short ratio at least it feels more fun to drive the old mk5 1.6 Zetec S was brilliant
Yeah and that's my opinion to
I think that the 3 and 4 gear are too fucking highly configured that's what make the 5th gear without enough power to go more deeper
I want to know if the 100PS version are with the same gearbox configuration or not
If yes i think the engine will never push in the 5th gear
+souhaib ben farhat
At a guess i would say yes, as i cant see ford making a different gearbox for each power variant .
However sadly the mk5 mondeo is too big and heavy for its 1.5 ecoboost
souhaib ben farhat
If you were considering one of these ? I would strongly recommend stArt with the 125bhp and superchip it. I think of hand it should be about 150bhp that will help out on the long gears .
souhaib ben farhat I never have a need for 6th in my focus.
Why on earth are 2.4 million people interested in the acceleration of a 1.0 eco boost Ford engine? From Vietnam ❤
OMG how did that reach 200!?
The clock was started after the car started moving and was stopped when the speedometer reached 98, which is only 96 real km/h. A correction of at least 0,5 s is called for. Factory data says 9.7=9.9 s, and experience tells us you can never reach those factory figures,
I wouldn't want to do a 122 mph in my little fiesta !
I bet this engine would be amazing in a Ford F 150
knightrider1545 Then i think the F150 will do 0-100 in about 20-30 seconds :)
*****
Well thats not bad unless your towing. Why rush?
knightrider1545 And i mean km/h not MPH.
The 1.0 would barely get an F-150 moving let alone tow something.
Thank you for not talking about what the title steady says for 40 minutes before showing the video!
This engine wont last long...
So far 120,000 abused but trouble free kilometers on mine
Is that slight whining noise that slowly dies once you shift the gear the turbo? I know this is a pretty broad question...
I doubt it's the turbo, the non turboed 1.0 does it too.
+SASR Firestorm there is no 1.0 N/A
+MountKeverest yes there is, they have an 80ps 1.0
I think its the variable cam or valve timing
there is a new editon with 140 bhp!!
Absolute brilliant Ford
Gracias..tengo uno
I have 1l .3cyl econetic engine n pride of 120cv 5l economy engine nere next to hibrid...u all hibrides can suck my ,,,
