Had this car, got the ECU fully unlocked to 95kw / 127hp (yes, even the strongest factory variant is still actually detuned - and by this unlock, I didn't loose the warranty btw), but nothing else, all fully stock, it was the "Monte Carlo" version (bit more stiff carriage, bigger wheels etc.) and it was doing bellow 7.5s 0-100. But I don't recommend it - with this small light engine, the front is very light, and when you floor it, the front wheels easily starts to lose grip. So you need to be careful with gas after the turn apex and so on. Not talking about driving on wet roads, then suddenly you can't accelerate out of turns while better cars still can, and you have to use quite a lot of brake before (and sometimes even during) the turn to keep the front wheels some traction. I could live with it happily, but my colleague, who got the car after me, crashed it totally the very first day of winter on the first snow.
But the engine, especially unlocked, is pretty amazing, and compared to both 1.4 and 1.8 TSI engines, it also lasts without major flaws (where the 1.4 or 1.8 had troubles going over and over, every 2nd car we had in our company with those engines died before 200k. I can imagine having the 130hp 1.2 TSI in some small 2-seat coupe or cabrio, which would have around 800-900kg weight with 50/50 distribution between axels and a rearwheel drive .... that could be just funny experience ;-)
The elasticity on the 6th gear is not very promising, the gear is only for cruising at 130km/h for the lowest consumption I assume. BTW nice performance for a 1.2 liter.
Could you please do a Dyno test with the new Golf 7 1.2TSI with 105hp? So that we can see if there are any differences between the engines, although they should be the same. Also, with the top speed? Thank you!
140 mph ?!?!? was the hill vertical ? !! looking my first car in a year and trying to see between this and the 1.6tdi model and suggestions extremely unlikely it will stay stock
whats wrong with the picture is the question :) if 1.2 tsi 105bhp (even the new 110bhp) were accelerating for 8 secs to 100km/h I would have bought one.. I know they deviate from factory measurements, but not with such big margin... Don;t know what is the purpose of this deception here - commercial or something else ...
Motoru vadi viac ked ho podtacas, ako ked ho vytacas...
What??? Hahahah.. I feel bad for you. This is the most senseless comment I've read ever. Even the basic has a 6 speed manual, and then you get the 7 speed DSG.
@@fracturebandya819 yes, 7 Speed DSG = Death So Greatly. The 6 speed manual has no much problem besides normal clutch replacement just as other manual transmission. The main problems as other VW engines: Turbo+ direct injection, clogged intake valves, broken high-pressure fuel pump, early death catalytic converter. In comparison to older VW engines without turbo or direct injection, newer engines are way less reliable but more fun to drive,.... when it is new.. though. . Turbo engines get good torque in early rpm and almost flat. But once it reach 120 Km/h, it lost its juice, the torque reduce and feeling sluggish. Physics law of higher compression with small engine+turbo, it start to knock and the timing is retarded at higher rpm and calculated load. Meanwhile bigger non-turbo engine like most 2.0L or 1.8 L in most Japanese car, will keep pulling although have slower start of Torque-curve at low rpm. Overall, I am never impressed with European,Honda, or Ford turbo engines, they are made for short term good new car, not something that you drive for decades like most Toyota or Daihatsu.
This is over 115 hp, too fast for 1.2 as well, very nice.

This Rapid have a race chip from 105 to 130hp.
Little beast!!
yeah ...on 1.2tsi is veeery good power 130hp chip
What the hell! That`s fast for such small engine!
It has big compression and the engines last a couple of years and they are fir the trash
I've got 2013 rapid that is still going awesome, what are you talking about? 🤣
I made 218 km/h on speedometer in Rapid 2018 with 1.0 TSI 95 km :)

Ok that means about 130 hp in the engine, how can they claim it has only 105 hp? A mystery.
@roki977 you realize that he changed into 5th gear at 180km/h, do you? i seriously doubt about what you said
Ya
They're simply conservative :P There are quite a few cars out there that have more hp than what the factory claims...
Is this "clock" on right down part of video, shows "true" speed?
it shows GPS reached speed

Nice for 1.2L
Come fa un 1.2 105 CV a fare i 226 km orari..??
140 mph ?!?!? was the hill vertical ? !! looking my first car in a year and trying to see between this and the 1.6tdi model and suggestions extremely unlikely it will stay stock
Still I will never pay €12-13K for this.. definitely not worth it.
So this car has 110 hp on the wheels according to the dyno test?
its 9s to 100 not 8 cmon people
0:24 - 0:32 0-60 in 8.2 I timed it. Its not stock!! Manufacturs claim 10.2secs.
You got a point.
This is ambition or style?
Yes, up to 115 hp.
8V or 16V does not make difference in those calm turbo engines.
didnt it reach 203?
GPS me galat bta rha hai kya?

87,15kw to je 118,84hp
a to si slyšel kde ?
I thought the new one was also 8v?
0:24 - 0:32 This is not stock!!
It is. I have the polo variant and mine does it about the same.
no way...a volkswagen vr6 (2.8) touches 100 in ~8.2 and this in ~8.4? i mean if this is legit i`m going for it...
+ohunor This is the TSI Tech... Its impressive i know.. and guess what? 6.4l/100KM :D
6,4 ? lol I drive like 5/100 or less
Whos pushing you ?
Why in every test ASR or esp is off?
When ASR is off you can use all of the power.

How many km this engine can handle ? 100k?
Its on the dyno tries.
Really?? Disnt know you can hear the wind while in a dyno test
Something to do with taxation and customs
Elasticity in 5th is not that good for turbo engine. Most of diesels with similar output would be quicker in 6th than this TSI in 5th.
It maybe 1.6 tsi at
This is bs... no 1.2 does 0-60 in 8secs.
Welcome to TSI engine.
Marşa öyle basarsan gaza da durduk yere basarsan turboyu eline alırsın
No it is very obviously an attempt to get lower tax/insurance ratings. Very unfair to the competition.
i drive this engin and its not posible for the car whit this engin to drive like so
Oh man....i wish i hadn't bought the Polo. The 1.2 TSI 8 valve engine on that car is such a dog. This new 16 valve 1.2 TSI is so much better.
16 valve 1.2 top
Downhill, off course

Fake. It cant change to 5th at 180 kmh! Its a little city car, a friend of mine has one and it is not so fast
Alex Barrer you think so. but thinking doesn't mean knowing. in fact the car does about 180 kph in 4th gear @ 6000 rpm. so it's time to shift gear. :P
my 1.2 tsi 90hp Rapid can do 190km/h in 4th gear,and is a 5 gears.
fake
Why?
