I know I can't respond to every single comment, but thank you frrr for the feedback and support!🙏🙏you're all incredible and can't tell you how excited I am to record more Home Free reactions😎🎵in the meantime, stay patient, more music and videos on the way, God bless😇
All of these guys can beatbox. They have insane vocals. There is absolutely no a capella group out there like these guys. In the lead was Austin Brown.
Though published in 1913 by Dick Burnett, who did not compose it, this song is a very old American Folk Song. It is unknown who originally composed it but Burnett definitely did not. It was old when published - he just put it to paper - which then enabled him to earn from its use. Prior to that it was learned "by ear" having originated in & around the hills of Kentucky, Tennessee and thereabouts.
Just subscribed with hopes for more Home Free. They are the best! I don't even think of them as an acapella group anymore but just my favorite band now. Thanks for the Home Free reaction
Adam Chance is doing the Jaw Harp sound. Did they paint sweat on Tim’s face? You totally missed seeing it raining in the vid. Oh, and that was a gater, not a croc.
This is one of the most popular Home Free songs. It was the first song I ever heard from Home Free & I was instantly hooked. It really showcases the talent of these 5 men (their tight harmonies, Tim Foust's bass & Adam Rupp's incredible beatboxing). They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old (about 100 yrs.) & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
It's a form of throat singing, like the Mongolian throat singing shown on some videos out there. It should be recognized that they use a looper to continue the sound because it hurts and wears out his voice.
It was raining so it’s rain on Tim and rain on Rob’s clothes. You were showing a picture of Adam Chance with the note that it was Rob. Rob (glasses) is a tenor. Adam Chance (we call Chance so as not to confuse him with Adam Rupp. Chance is the baritone/bass. Adam is the crazy beatboxer. Austin (redhead) is the high tenor and Tim is the bass with 5 octave range. (Check out Tim with the Bass Gang doing Hooked on a Feeling). It’s great!
If you want to hear more extreme Tim vocals and weird Adam noises, check out Skull and Bones. The live video, not the lyric video. It's on their channel
Rob Lundquist is a tenor. Austin Brown is a high tenor, Adam Chance (Chance) is a baritone/tenor (4 octaves), Tim Foust is bass up to tenor (5 octaves) and Adam Rupp, beatboxer and tenor when he sings with the others.
Austin is the main tenor and Robb is tenor baritone. Take a listen to this one for beatboxing. Home Free - 9 to 5 + Beatboxing Breakdown, October 27, 2015
The original recording of this was somewhere around 1925, so it’s highly unlikely you’ve heard it. Also, Tim is a basso profundo, not a baritone, although he can sing all the way up to tenor. Chance is using a Mongolian throat-singing effect for the mouth harp sound
This song dates from at least as far back as 1913 in Kentucky. A lot of people/groups have recorded it, including Earl Scruggs, Bob Dylan, and many others. In my opinion, Home Free's version is the best by a significant margin.
Yes, Adam Chance (the baritone) is making those sounds. All of them can do some beat boxing. And just a note -- Tim (the bass) has a 5-octave range, and can hit the high notes just as well as the super-low notes.
Across the front - Rob Lundquist, tenor; Austin Brown, high tenor; Tim Faust, bass. Back row Adam Chance (gies by Chance) baritone/bass; Adam Rupp, tenor and beatboxer. That sound you commented on was made by Adam Chance. Sounds like a jaw harp or jew harp as some call it. The technique is Mongolian throat singing, difficult to do.
You've just watched the best acapella band around. They're all vocal chameleons, the beatboxer (Adam Rupp) is top tier, 3 of them are song writers. They sing (and write) almost every genre from gospel to goofy (including an opera aria duet). They each have channel(s) and side projects = you can't run out of content! Bonus: you'll find your subscriptions rise exponentially playing the acapella bands!
You can beatbox like Adam Rupp - just put in the 20-something years of practice he has. Okay, that may still not get you there - or maybe you could go further. There is a tale of a fan saying to a professional pianist that she wishes she could play like he does, and he replied "You can - just practice ten hours a day for 35 years, as I have." (numbers may have been different, but are in the right range). We all want the end result, but few of us would want to put in the practice time it takes.
Since you are doing Fiddler on the Roof, you might like to check out VoicePlay's awesome version of If I Were a Rich Man/Girl if you haven't seen it. I hope you do more Home Free. They re the best!
If you like the beat boxing done by Adam Rupp you should check out his Drum solo he does live in there concerts their are some Drum Solo videos of Adam's drum solo fans have taken live also you should check out there new skull 😂bones they just dropped today and all homefree fans are known as homefries. Homefree is the only country acapella vocal group in the world.
Mm. I can do both mouth harp - like Chance - and didgeridoo. I wish beat boxing had actually been a thing in my youth. I've been able to do all that stuff since my early teens. I'm just too damn old now! 🙄!! We'd only just got calculators on the market then, let alone computers and internet.
Okay, you saw this in *middle school*? And now you have a beard? This is one of them deepfakes, y'all. This can't be that long ago. I mean, the '90s was just last decade, right? ...Sorry, the nurse is telling me it's time for my pills now.

Amen!🙏🙏
It's rain on his face. Tim is a Basso Profundo with a five plus octave range.
Matt: Hush!
This is so very awesome! Home Free re the best! So extremely talented! Love your reaction! ♥ #HOMEFREE!
IT'S RAIN ON TIM'S FACE, IT'S RAINING
Ahhhhh, that makes sense

You've made the right choice, my friend 😎 there's undoubtedly more Home Free react content on the way!

Chance did the mouth harp sound by using mongolian throat singing methods.
in the live video from concerts, they show him doing it live into a looper so that Adam can loop it through the song.
CHECK OUT BROTHER BY HOME FREE, THEY'RE LARPING
Will do😎😎

Helplessly Hoping shows their vocal talent. And Tim has an album he does by himself. Fav. Is Will You Still Love Me/ Stay.
❤🤠#HomeFree. They're amazing 🔥. Good reaction.🏠🍟
Yes, Chance is making that sound at the beginning and end. They do it in concert

@thomasmacdiarmid8251 yes, I heard that it hurts his throat 😕 thank God for that looper lol
Check out their song "Butt's Medley'
I do want to warn to wait a while before doing homefree cover of mayday.

Stopping the video too often. Too much talking. Glad you appreciate the singers. You need to tone down the talk. And...oh well
..never mind.

Ring of Ring by Home Free featuring Avi Caplin. Lots of low notes.
You need to react to Ring of Fire featuring Avi Kaplan.
American Alligator, not a croc

🤠🔥🤠
Geoff Castellucci did this song as well. It's really cool 😎
yeah, he did! Have to react to that as well!
@@mattofficialstudios
Cool 😎
Tim helped Geoff develop his subharmonic technique, as Geoff says, I have those notes but I do it in a different way!

Actually this song is quite old..1st written on paper in 1913
Subbed for more of Chance, Rob, Austin, Tim and Adam!! The best of the very best!
Since you are doing Fiddler on the Roof, you might like to check out VoicePlay's awesome version of If I Were a Rich Man/Girl if you haven't seen it.
I hope you do more Home Free. They re the best!
Rob is not the baritone. That would be Chance. Rob it’s the second tenor.
But Matt, can you hit Tim's low notes that are in the chorus that follows his solo? Anyway, welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole.
Very good question, my friend 🤔 🤔
@@mattofficialstudios A good question, perhaps. Your answer is notable for its absence.
Thanks Matt ~ new sub. 🍟
You're quite welcome!
It was raining when they were filming.
