Absolutely gutted we never got a DC Fandome stream featuring James converting his entire house into Wayne Manor while Mason sits in the background eating a bowlful of Superman funko pops as the two of you gear up to dissect Nicole Kidman's latest fish-dress in the new Aquaman trailer.
What Mason was talking about with ‘trap streets’ in the Marvel Police bit is more commonly known as ‘paper towns’. Cartographers would add in a fake town to their maps of countries or large regions so if anyone stole their map work and published it as their own, the original author would then use the paper town to prove it’s been stolen.
The joke about you guys getting into a fight at university reminds me that Larry David and Richard Lewis met at camp when they were 12 and hated each other. Richard told Howard Stern
Um....(pushes up glasses) it's a major plot point in Cap 2 that Natasha is on the boat to do spy work for Fury. She steals data that Fury wants from the bad guys while Steve is there to distract the muscle. This causes Cap to question oversight in the later released movie Cap Civ War... Spy confirmed.
i was secretly hoping that in his poggers investigation that maso would go down the gootecks rabbit hole and consume a decade's worth of FGC drama in like 5 minutes
I kinda think we’ll get a Captain Carter animated series. Like you could actually do a few episodes in that universe I think like Steve being the hydra stomper after she is frozen. He could be abducted by hydra in the armour and turned into a winter soldier kinda thing. Then when she meets him in what if he could be like an evil Captain America. Also explore how that world is now there’s a kind of iron man back in the 1940s.
I can't believe you guys forgot the spy classic, "Leonard Part VI", starring the immaculate Bill Cosby. The scene where he throws his meat at his enemies and they can't/don't want to take it...oh, boy.

So Prophet is a lot like Supreme in that when a good creator came in and rebuilt it from the ground up, it suddenly worked. I can't recommend the Prophet reboot comic enough. It abandons the trappings of the superheroes to tell a story millions of years in the future in which John Prophet has been cloned into a legion of warriors and deals with alien life far stranger and more creative than anything else i've seen. It's almost an anthology series with different artists coming in to tell one-off prophet stories many of which read like Conan the Barbarian by way of Dune. Seriously, the whole series is 5 volumes and it's perhaps the most underrated comic of the last twenty years.
did the Weekly Planet watch Squid Game? I know I've listened to every episode but sometimes if I'm unfamiliar with the property under discussion I tune it out. Anyway I need Mr. Pumpkin Content & Dapper Robin Mason's takes, it's a product of their hemisphere after all
James said he did last week but they didn't talk about it on this pod unfortunately. He said they discussed it on his less successful podcast suggestible
Please do a DC fandome knock off stream that DC would definitely not approve of. Monetize it, wear crappy t shirts, and bring up batman's intimate relationship with Catwoman.
The cgi man appears to be a real man who is very camera conscious Also a better premise than movie is Yesterday/ “what if the Beatles never were a band?” There’s no explanation and the world is barely any different. It’s decent but could’ve been way more interesting
What is a fake map? Is that like how in Silent Hill, you can find a map of Silent Hill. Or, is there some business I am unaware of, where people buy fake maps?
I started typing out bullet points on what DC wanted you guys to do but I became exhausted. I've listed my favorite instead Requirement #2247 "Transform your car into the Batmobile"... No!
Could you guys review Netflix’s Midnight Mass for the show? I both like it and hate it at the same time, and I’d love to hear your take. It’s a clever story with some great peaks, but overall a slog of a show.
