    I love this channel. Did my training from October to February in Scotland, looking forward to spring and summertime.

      Thanks for the kind words. You did your "bike" training over winter, in Scotland? Sir, I tip my hat 🤠. The summer is coming, have fun and stay safe.

    I have the same colour scheme and I'm looking at painting/coating the frame due to some bad apots. Do you have a recommendation for the frame colour type or code?
    Cheers, keep up the good work!

      Hi and thanks for watching. In case you haven't found it, if you go back in time a little bit I did do a couple of spray videos. One in silver and one in black. These bikes are so old they don't have paint codes as we know today. The colours had names, like this firecracker red and ebony black. As for the frame, well, I found "wheel silver" to be a very good substitute. It looks pretty much original and it tends to be a bit tougher than normal paint. It also has that slight glittery effect that makes it look like powder coat. Have fun and keep watching, thank you 🙏🏻

    Love your videos. They are so informative and relaxing .Even tho my bike got stolen and and found in a burned up condition by Police. I still come to your channel and listen to you as podcast xD

      Where do I begin? Firstly, that's bad about your bike. Ever thought of getting a replacement? As for listening to my videos as a podcast, I absolutely love that comment, the nicest compliment I had, next to "you're the Bob Ross of motorbikes" .. only good if you know Bob Ross. Thank you so much for watching, I'll try to keep the videos coming 🙏🏻

    brilliant. could u perhaps record a video for carb balancing on these? thanks

      @MrLefthooker  7 місяців тому

      Hi, I have done a video on balancing and various tools I use, maybe that's any use, but I might do a special on this subject specific to the keihin cvk32 on the GPZ600R. Thanks for the input 👍🏻

    Hello. I have problem with my GPX 600R. I overfilled oil (about 2-3 mm above max) and runned the engine for few minutes. Now oil is leaking from breather hose between airbox and crankcase. Of course after i noticed that I have too much oil I corrected that but it's still leaking. Is there anything that I should worry about?

    • @MrLefthooker
      @MrLefthooker  7 місяців тому +1

      Inside that crankcase breather hole there is a tube which goes down into the sump. It will have picked up some oil, and is covered on the inside of that tube. Once you took some oil out it might take a bit of time for it to settle down, but there is nothing to worry about. Just look at your air filter now and again to make sure no oil has been pushed through it and ruined it, but it should be fine. Seeing how easy it is on the gpz makes me have a love hate relationship with my gpx600. Mine has been dying randomly and having no spark when it does, not sure if its the stator or de coil or cdi yet. But man do i love these gpx gpz

    • @MrLefthooker
      @MrLefthooker  7 місяців тому +1

      The good news is, you can measure the coils , stator and pick-ups easily. It's worth noting that if you do the checks in cold and hot conditions (I mean the bike, not the weather) you can see if there are any big ohm differences, which could potentially indicate something breaking down under thermal stress (when getting hot) The cdi is a classic and specifically shows it's flaws when hot. For pick-ups and stator checks , look up my videos, you will find what you need 👍🏻 Thanks for watching, if not already, I'd appreciate a subscription and a thumbs up. Thanks again.

    • @cproductions989
      @cproductions989 7 місяців тому

      @@MrLefthooker yeah will do that, already swapped the pick up for a other one since the ohm was out of spec, the cdi is a bit tricky because i have the haynes manual and it shows what resistance you should have per pin combo etc. definitly suspecting the coils but thanks i will rewatch your videos again ;)

    • @MrLefthooker
      @MrLefthooker  7 місяців тому

      Unfortunately you can't measure the cdi with a normal multimeter. It's done with a Kawasaki special tool (if anyone even has one these days). You are pretty much left to finding someone in your area with a similar bike and swapping the cdi out temporarily, or going blind for a replacement unit (which I don't recommend, nothing good about spending money where you don't know if it's necessary.)

    Hello ,
    I am very happy to have found you. i live in amsterdam and i have a gpz600r from 1987. i have a carburetor leak recently.
    I tried to tighten the bolts but it didn't work. at first they all dripped from the bottom from the cleaning holes, but today I also noticed a leak from the top. I am sending you a link with a video. I am asking for advice on how to proceed to change the gaskets or should a complete repair of the carburetor be done.

      It's difficult to see exactly where it is coming from, but as it looks like fuel is coming from all over, I think it might be coming from the overflow at the top. This means at least 1 of the float valves is probably not sealing, either worn out or something is blocking it (rusty tank maybe?) it's quite bad so I suggest taking the carbs out, and fitting new float valves and bowl seals. They could probably use a good clean in an ultrasonic tub. Good luck 👍🏻
