If you don't cut your string when your string breaks, then your frame might break from the tension. Some players cut the string when it's not broken because the tension is already loose, so they cut it to restring it.

I once got a tournament racket i was a beginner and didnt know i was suppose to remove it eventually the string broke and i just continued using it for a year i now regrey it dearly

@Mohit Raj it's not just cutting strings. If you cut them wrong, it can bend the frame due to uneven tension
