I think the solos in this were some of his finest in fact, the critics did not like these albums, but who cares what the critics think, it's heart and soul and GARY had all that and more - a real champion of strength on the guitar, there will never be anyone else with such passion and fire and strength - I still hate it that he's gone....I will never forget him, glad I saw him in Leeds many year ago
You know he's killing it when his band can't help smiling. The best guitarist ever and that includes Jimi, Clapton BB King and "the names"....nothing needed to be said about him, just "fuck the rock and roll hierarchy " he does not need them to be a legend in truth.
I sometimes go into work early before the din starts...I play my music and when I hear this one I usually have to have a moment 🎶🎸🌹I followed Gary's every move musically over the years...he was a one off without a doubt...I think of him and Phil Lynott at sometime every day...I miss them both so much.♥️🎸♥️♠️✌️
Gary Moore is unlike other guitarists and singer song writers. He is beyond talented. What you are seeing here is pure transparency of a man who puts everything he has into his music. I have never felt a connection with any other artist as I do with Gary Moore. I hope he had his affairs in order with Jesus. I just can't stop listening to this song. This is my absolute favorite of all his songs and there are many great ones to choose from. I don't always need a great screw driver but when I do I choose Stanley. Can you believe that! He gets every ounce of tone and creativity regardless of what guitar is in his hands. There is a song by Wayne Watson called The Touch Of The Masters Hand. That is what we are seeing right here.
My favorite Gary Moore song? No! He has so many great songs that I can't have just one as my favorite. My favorite artist/ guitarist is without question Gary Moore! Nobody even comes close!
This is, I believe, the most beautiful song Gary has ever written. The lyrics are deep and touching, his voice is excellent, and his guitar playing is simply incredible!
I think this is one of Gary’s finest tunes, the solo on the record is so flowing and really well put together and this live version is also cool .... to me he’s still one of the greatest of all time!...so sadly missed .
As always bloody unbelievable, thought I could play t,hen I listen to the master and its back to the drawing board. If only I was half as good as him id feel blessed. Miss you Gary RIP
There will never ever be another Garry Moore what a talent in a league of is owed you've left us with cds and dvds which we can listen to same they will be no more consents no one r I p Garry the genius
Gary has so much great material that I sometimes go a few months without hearing songs like this, but I am listening to this gem on a daily basis once again.
I was at this concert. Fantastic performance. This is my favorite kind of playing from Gary. Melodic, note milking, great phrases. I prefer this to his blues playing. Grew up learning guitar transcribing Gary. Still brings a tear to my eyes every time knowing he is gone.
I live in England and remember watching this on sud-west TV at night (I think) because I had satellite and could pick up German(i think it was) TV. Great show wish I had recorded it
This was my favorite track from "Dark Days", and I had hoped a live version existed... Thanks for uploading this super performance, from a timeless master, who now soars high above on wings made from love...

I've been a big fan of Gary Moore since 1983 (Corridors of powers) I believe, and He definitely influence my guitar playing back then. I went from a shredder to a tastefull, soulful shredder and help me mature to be a more team player in a band situation rather than all about me guitar player.... He was awesome then, today He's brilliant!
Ive been playing guitar since 74 and yes i can play satrinani and eddie and ive been inspired to learn most of the best solos over the years the likes of zepplin, sanbath , whitesnake , frank marino , robin trower to name a few and my most lived solos ever are hendrixs are you experienced and stairway to heaven but the way gary builds this song up towards the end gets me hypnotised and that end solo in the studio version is as good if not better that hendrux and paige put together its just a brilliant choice of phrasing and i dont think anyone could copy it , miss gary moore ..oh and may i add that emoty rooms and military man are brilliant also ..
Thanks for sharing! I've been looking for this video for years...Pls keep sharing this kind of clips everybody!!!! One of his best solo's, still can't believe he's gone...
@mulemusic I did some major research, and I was told from people at Gary's site that he didn't play it that day at Montreux 97... oh the pain on not having this in really high quality.. I sure miss Gazza.. RIP
I think Dark Days in Paradise was his best album, followed close by Victims of the Future, Wild Frotier and Still got the Blues. I emailed Bob Daisley a few years ago to tell him to listen to DDIP and he loved it. Great song with yet another masterpiece guitar solo. RIP great man.
Man all the notes in his solos are so unicorns butterfly's goosebumps. Nelly brings tears to ya eyes. And his melodic chords man he had something that not alot of guitarist have. Like telling a mindblowing story. Effortless improvising 🤯🥺😭
Hold on to your dreams Learn how to fly like angels Hold on to your dreams Soaring above wings of love what a feelings n waves of emotions!!! R.I.P GARY we will love you forever. He could play his internal emotions through his guitar. He was the legend.

So sad to have lost and greatly missed , I only stumbled across this genius about 5 years ago n can’t get enough. RIP Gary , one of the all time greats! 🎸🤘🏻
+StuntedRecords Yes this was a superb world class band gary put together, also featured Guy Pratt ( Pink Floyd ) Bass and the great Marcus Fiennes on Keys. Wonderful band.

The screwdriver drops to the floor and the most talented fingers that ever touched a guitar fretboard lift your soul to the heavens.

I always got a kick out of Gary using a screwdriver for a slide in the first part of his solo... He was a very clever player...
From the hardest of hammer on rock to having the touch of an angels fart.genius.genius genius.miss you gary.xx
I think this song has his vocals in a sweet spot. His tone here is sublime, he's singing like a bird. This song must have had a lot of meaning to him.
This angels song takes me in time to a very far away place. Awesome!!!
Wings Made From Love
That solo at 6:00 is still one of my favourites of all time - so much energy

How this video doesn't have a few million views is shocking!
I must say things like the screw driver scream you would never know how he did without video's like these :)
Wow! Amazing solo... And first time I see a screwdriver being used as slide, must be because of tone purposes Lol
Badass!
That is so cool.
I think it was easier to use a screwdriver on the high E than a bottle neck.
Master. Nothing else to say...
