He inspired me to play almost 40 years ago. Hes the only reason ive only used Les Pauls. His tone, vibrato, speed, complete control of the volume and tone knobs is incredible and the feeling he plays with is second to none. Ive showed this video- I have the show on tape- to much younger guitarists. Same reaction. Disbelief. My mother in law was a music professor and concert pianist. Highly schooled. I showed her this tape and she made me make a copy for her 🤗 he was truly special and is sorely missed in my heart.
The intro section to this is one of the best blues guitar performances ever hands down. So much feel. Also Gary could shred like Eddie Van Halen then turn around and play something soulful like this and that puts him above a lot of other players for sure
I'm a lucky one - saw him live 1990 literally to touch (3rd row) - I'll never forget this 90 minutes...and yes, his skills were (and still are) awesome
Meu gosto musical não tem envolvimento com ninguém. Já falei muito sobre isso. Sou eclética. Uma música posso analisar milhões de vezes coisas diferentes do cotidiano. Detalhe
The best part about concerts in the 90's is nobody is out with their freaking cell phones!! Just straight appreciation for the music
The best guitar player in history. Technical mastery with uncomparable soul. Sadly missed!
