Truck bed protection advice. Having been down that road (had a construction company) I found old mining belt to be the best. It comes in different thicknesses (I like 1/2 inch to 1 inch) and is indestructible. Simply cut it to fit and you are good to go (no damage).
This may be apples and oranges but I put a Toyota branded cargo mat in my 5th gen 4R and the quality is horrible. The aftermarket floor mats/trays I purchased are much much better. The weather tech choice is likely better also.

To everyone complaining about him buying that vehicle you must keep in mind and remember he is already a Toyota master mechanic so any issues that go wrong with it he knows exactly what to do to fix it The hybrid version of that twin turbo V6 wasn’t on the recall and same thing with the year of the truck as well plus you have to remember there are Ford F1 50s that have a similar engine that have went over 200,000 miles with minimum issues after they also had a recall as well so I feel like he can do whatever he wants.
Glad you were able to get that beautiful truck. You've worked harder for it than I can imagine. You deserve it and I know you're properly thankfull. Now for the price they should at least give you the matching steaks from all those cows.

THAT is one lucky truck that will never be neglected or get so sick it will die because of how well you care for your vehicles as the owner. I'd love to have seen the look on the salesman's face when you walked in 😮😂. I am retired, active and looking for a used car after my 21year old Honda Accord went bye bye in Feb. I had limited knowledge of cars knew little about the mechanics of vehicles under the hood. I knew where the windshield washer fluid, oil and battery were but everything else was a maze of wires, pipes and tubes. Through your videos I now know about brakes and calipers, oil and all the fluids, where they are and I understand and have respect for the recommended change dates. What the engine and transmission actually look like. I even know where air bags are and why a sunroof malfunctions, all because of your incredible knowledge. I really like the Toyota Avalon after watching your video. It's safe and comfortable, and I think has stylish, feminine lines, perfect for a woman. Thank you so much for your beautiful videos and expertise. I'll be watching .😊 👍

You got the right bed cover. It integrates with the tie down rails. Nice low profile too. Congratulations! Once you go with a truck, its hard to go back. You’re gonna really like it for family outings and so forth. Great for road trips to. Just stick the cooler in the back and stop at rest areas for tailgate meals. Fun times.

Good luck, I am a certified Toyota technician. We are seeing short block replacement recalls on new tundras. During manufacturing of the engine block, excess ground from the casting has gone into oil passages. They have not cleaned out the blocks all that well, causing premature main bearing failure.
I like the Weather Tech bed liner. I have Weather Tech mats in my car. They and the car are a few months away from ten years old. I like things that last, especially when the satisfaction continues to last longer than the memory of cost. 👍
I think their fake leather is better. I could hardly believe our 2013 ram looked the same as new by 2022 with 140k miles. But not so sure about the quality of the latest gen. It's a shame Chrysler, ram, dodge, can't get a good owner because with a little improvement they have pretty good designs and such
Really appreciate your thought process on why you bought it. Most people don't think about what THEY are going to use a vehicle for or why they want it, they just buy because some UA-camr bought it, or a friend bought it. Great video :).
Congrats on your new purchase. I'm the proud owner of a 2012 Tundra, no problems whatsoever with over 200,000 miles. Looking forward to another 100k. Also wanted to request that you share the results of your oil analysis. It would be helpful to all of us thinking about a newer Tundra in the future.

Unpopular opinion at present, but I've said since the recall started stacking up Tundras on the lot that you can get amazing deals right now IF you can afford to get one as an extra vehicle; now would be an ideal time to jump on one with the potential that it may go back for warranty work. I've seen them going for used truck money around me here in the DFW area. Add: By the by, before I got into composites, I made custom leatherwork and spent a lot of time in shops like Tandy. The wonderful leather aroma is an additive in the finishwork that you can also purchase as a protectant if you value your leather gear (couches, coats, etc.). My favorite comes from a small business named Aero Cosmetics; made for airplane upholstery but works fantastic on anything with hide and the new leather scent is in every drop. I apply it every few months to our couches, once a year for coats and a spritz on the wallet every once in a great while. Mmm. Let your truck bake on a hot Texas day, you'll walk around with that aroma on your for an hour. 👌

Seems to me people underestimate the value of a nice, comfortable interior on a truck, not to mention the ride quality, when you buy. That IS where you spend most of your time! I get that it raises the price, which ARE outrageous these days, but if you’re working up a sweat, it’s great to get some relief climbing into a beautiful cabin with good seats to rest your aching back, A/C, and stereo. I remember the spartan trucks of the old days - my truck-driver Dad would laugh at what you get as standard equipment in today’s pickups, but he would love them, too! Love your videos, Ahmed!
Congratulations, and Good Luck all in the same!!! If ever there were a person who could manage Toyota's current state of quality, . . . it's you!!! Love the channel!!! Peace, and be well.
I ordered a leather roll up bed cover from Amazon for my 2014 Tundra. It was $300 usd or so. And it used the in factory rail system, so I did not have to remove that. Putting stuff in the back and not getting things wet is good. And having it so that no one can see what if anything is in the bed is also good. Enjoy the new truck. @@karlschauff7989unfortunately it’s not the interns that finalize designs for production it’s the executives demanding engineers find cheaper alternatives for parts to increase profit margins to please shareholders

You can’t tell anything about reliability on a 2024 model since we are in 2024
Congratulations to one of the most technically competent and comprehensive auto You Tubers. Man that is a grille with a body and wheels attached to it.
It is truly nice to hear what a mechanic says and thinks when they put on an OEM appliance on a vehicle for the first time. Many trials and tribulations with great joy when they finish…hip..hip..hurray!!!
Perfect truck for your channel to stay current and up to date with Toyota products, documenting everything from day one.Love how you think these things thru beforehand.Good job.
Are you going to take it off road and treat it like a truck?

Truck bed protection advice.
Having been down that road (had a construction company) I found old mining belt to be the best.
It comes in different thicknesses (I like 1/2 inch to 1 inch) and is indestructible.
Simply cut it to fit and you are good to go (no damage).
Horse stall mats are equally bulletproof in my experience and pretty affordable if you have a TSC around.
Or get a made to fit rubber mat for it.
@@C-M-E Great idea!
@@lrich8181 Yep!
This may be apples and oranges but I put a Toyota branded cargo mat in my 5th gen 4R and the quality is horrible. The aftermarket floor mats/trays I purchased are much much better. The weather tech choice is likely better also.
Normally I would congratulate someone for buying a new truck. In this case I would like to congratulate this Tundra for getting a new owner. Tundra my friend....you just hit the jackpot. This owner will treat you right for the rest of your life. Congratulations!
Question: Do you think the small details that Toyota missed are due to Toyota OR the fact that this truck is made in the USA by American workers? Do you feel if these truck were made in Japan these errors would not be found?
Interesting perspective and I think you are 100% correct. A working shop truck never had a brighter future. 😊
Oh geez. Do you know how many Toyotas have been made in the US and for how long? Decades. Do some research.
@@mediocreman2Doesn’t change the fact that US quality control is very spotty.
@@carpenoctemI really want a Tundra but I keep getting reminded why I shouldn’t get one and my wife is too tiny for one these beasts lol but she drove trucks for a while, and drove a 4Runner for 3 years. Hmmm…
@@Papolucho702 I should have phrased this better - quality control has taken a nose dive after 2020. If I were you, I’d get a previous gen tundra. Or if you are fine with old vehicles, a first gen is great as well(4.7 is one of the best engines toyota ever made) and quite a bit smaller for your wife.
As the owner of two previous tundras, as well as the current owner of a hot red Tacoma, I applaud your choice. Never disappointed by Toyotas. This one is a beauty.

You very much deserve it. Enjoy the truck! You are going to get more use out of it than you realize!
I still had hope for the tundra even with all these issues. I’m glad to get your ownership perspective
Sold my 1999 Tacoma SR5 almost two years ago. Bought a 2021 Tundra with 11K miles. It’s the closest thing I will ever have to a new truck. This will be my last vehicle god willing. I have watched every episode of your how to maintain a vehicle. I can’t say how much I appreciate your time and information. My truck will last forever LOL. Congratulations on the new Truck. Looking forward to seeing your progress with the maintenance.
Congrats! But unless you’re 60, it won’t be your last truck. I’ve said the same a few times
You are one among many in different fields, who educate us to a deeper level. I've been watching some videos of yours and helping me fix my two Camry's.
Buying a truck with possible issues also makes for lots of content ideas

Glad you were able to get that beautiful truck. You've worked harder for it than I can imagine. You deserve it and I know you're properly thankfull. Now for the price they should at least give you the matching steaks from all those cows.
Got a third party soft cover for mine. $170, fit right in the factory rails. Four months in, no leaks. Time will tell!
It's a shame we had to be spoiled a tad in the previous v35a issue video! But should be confidence inspiring for current owners that even the Car Care Nut himself bought himself a Tundra.
Glad to see great success that's come your way

Step by step expanding your business. Congratulations to all team and thank you for sharing your mechanical knowledge.

Good to see you have become a Toyota Tundra influencer. Your personal endorsement will go a long way in countering Tundra negativity over the engine problems.
good thing you're a great mechanic - you can clean all the engine metal fragments all on your own :)
Beautiful "Truck", I can see why you fell in love with the interior...congratulations!
Fun times.
Great video. You are the real deal. I just picked up a 2022 Taco TRD Off Road with 19K miles…only 4 oil changes and hardly broken in. I am so stoked it is the best truck I’ve ever owned. Zero percent interest-cash out the door! I OWN IT..,so blessed!
Good luck to you sir. 😊
I’ve been buying Saddleback bags since 2013. Will last forever. Congrats and enjoy the truck!
Good luck, I am a certified Toyota technician. We are seeing short block replacement recalls on new tundras. During manufacturing of the engine block, excess ground from the casting has gone into oil passages. They have not cleaned out the blocks all that well, causing premature main bearing failure.
Enjoy your new truck with health (you and your family) for many kilometers! Hugs from Spain!
I like the Weather Tech bed liner. I have Weather Tech mats in my car. They and the car are a few months away from ten years old. I like things that last, especially when the satisfaction continues to last longer than the memory of cost. 👍
It looks good but could be heavier like the 'black armour' mat which is the best imho.
I don't recommend non-OEM (universal) mats if you have kids.

Why are ram drivers dick heads on the road?
I think their fake leather is better. I could hardly believe our 2013 ram looked the same as new by 2022 with 140k miles. But not so sure about the quality of the latest gen.
I bought the hard top roll up tonneau cover so my rear windows is not blocked. I love it. Yes. It leaks on hard rains, but..... it looks great! I put it in by myself too! Enjoy your truck!
