    Just me say'n, but the phrasing and the flow of the licks to me are what counts! The flam work is very tasty, even the brain freeze is tasty. The work that you are trying to impress on us shows up on the snare as far I can hear! Luv it Bro! Tnx for the bonus vid this week!

    Rob that’s brilliant! Never crossed my mind to record myself just playing some licks to gauge progression. Once every other week gonna put this into practice, to see where I stand on new licks. Thank you so much brother! 🤜 Have a great day!!!

    0:39-0:41 great Vinnie stuff! and that PAISTE Swish sounds like heaven!! One Question: what Splashes do you play in the Outro of the Video? I am seriously thinking about switching to PAISTE at the end of this year.

    • @RobBeatdownBrown
      @RobBeatdownBrown  6 років тому +1

      One is my 8" Signature Splash and I'm pretty sure the other one was a random 10" splash I bought off a friend for like $40 that just happened to go really well with it. But yea. All their Signature splashes are pretty much the definition of what splashes supposed to sound like. Look at the 602 Modern Essentials splashes, too. Wicked.

    Hey what's up man I just found your channel and I wouldn't lie you're fu*king good I still have a question which isn't related to the video but you're focusing on hands this year Soo my question is can you do the same exercises you do on a practice pad on a pillow or not and if you can will it be any different please I hope you see this

    • @RobBeatdownBrown
      @RobBeatdownBrown  6 років тому

      I sometimes find pillows counter productive when you’re tryin’ to develop rebound, man. I’d much prefer to just add resistance to a pad with a couple layers of towel. I plan to address pillows in a future video soon.

    1:40 is tasty, what note values are you using to achieve that slowing down effect, or is this in free time?

    • @RobBeatdownBrown
      @RobBeatdownBrown  6 років тому

      It’s just one of those split second Latin inspired phrasings that kinda happens on auto pilot, man. It’s more about the feel than the sticking in that case. Looking at it, It’s just a single stroke ending with a couple ‘right’s.

    Wish I could keep my left hand going like that. Fast ghost notes. I use matched grip. idk
