At my local Goodwill here in So. Cal. Resellers just stand around and wait for fresh racks to come to the floor. It becomes a feeding frenzy with pushing and shoving, it's a real scene. That being said, I am always amazed at what they miss after the insanity cools down. Case in point, yesterday I stepped in to find a pair of Vuori NWT men's shorts. A pair of Bevy Flog pants and some men's Kuhl pants. Made my day.
great score! Yes I agree, tons of pushing and shoving at our local Goodwill Outlet and after the dust settles I can still find some amazing brands, it makes me wonder what exactly are they going crazy over lol.
Would you consider doing a video where you go through a rack showing every tag and then narrate over it saying pass or pickup. I remember thriftalife did those back when he uploaded and it was awesome!
Thanks so much for responding. Clearly I have to start earlier in the day. I can't seem to figure out how to make a template that works for me as most of my items just always seem to be different. I don't have enough items because I don't have a store to go in and pull things back out for listings if that makes any sense. Clearly I'm just not as sophisticated in this yet, Don't know if I ever will be. When I hear the amounts that people sell in one day or one weekend it blows my mind, wish it was me, but also happy to see that others can do it. Thanks again, Linda
Hey your very welcome Linda. I'm just a regular person and if I can do it you definitely can too. Just takes some time to develop some systems and processes that work for your life style. I'm here to help and answer any questions if needed.
Great video. Thanks for the info. You got a new subscriber. I liked the little part with your family and your quick message about work not being everything.
Someone asked me once why I was looking through the women's clothing in a thrift shop. I looked at them and said; "I am looking for the Golden Ticket, its in here somewhere." They don't bother you after that...
I started looking at styles that I had sold in the past and current trends. This really helped. My sales are up 30 this past month for doing these things. Every night before I go to bed I look at ebay sales in a price range I want to target to get ideas for styles, trends and brands so helpful. Watching Beau's videos has really helped me too. Thanks Beau!
Great informational video Beau, I soak up the info you share with all of us. Also joined the Profit First Reseller Community. So thanks once again for helping this new Reseller
Hi I have learned very much from you and from several other thrifters. I've been doing this for only 6 months. Had not to be discouraged but I'm battling through so far. My question is if you go out that many times a week when do you do the photographing and listing? Do you have someone else that works with you. You have to sleep sometime! I have more stuff than time to list or photograph and I'm trying to stay home to get it done and not go out. But going out is what I love to do finding the good stuff. Would love a reply. Thanks, Linda
Hey Linda I appreciate the support. Most of my photography and listings are done early in the morning around 6AM, but 7:30 - 8AM that process is done (Listings + Photos) then I hop into shipping mode and ship out the orders for the day. I list about 20 items per day so its around 150-200 photos in total. The more reps you put in the faster you will get. I used to have a VA to do my listings when I did 50 listings per day but now I just do them myself. Happy to answer any questions.
With all of the time spent sourcing, have you calculated what you are being paid per hour on your net after expenses/before taxes? I have a PT job and am finding it is paying more at this point, which was not true when I started 3 years ago....I enjoy doing ebay more so it has been tricky deciding what to do.
@@BeauJohnson1 they ask for $24-59 for used shoes (nike etc) and $14-22 for pants, $15-19 for sweathshirts and $7.99 for used hats often find cheaper on ebay etc.
Oh I would say in total about 50%, I still have a good but left from buying 4 storage units in June of 2022. But the more recent bulk buys I have at least 50% left. Staying away from buying bulk for the foreseeable future.
I use the neewer nl660 because they are a bi color light, and they take up minimal space. Had them for 3 years and are still going strong - amzn.to/3ViFzRH
Hey beau, I’m new to reselling. How many items were in your store and what was your story starting on inventory and when you could afford bills realistically? Haha TY
For me it was around 2000 items and listing 30 per day is when we were able to pay our rent just off eBay profits. But this will vary for everyone since we all pick up different items to resell.
If you factor in your time and effort sourcing /photographing / packaging it doesn’t seem to be worth it making $10 on an item ( your average selling price).

Welcome! Thank you for the support. Yeah I try to cut the family in some of the videos, very important to take breaks and enjoy the ride.

Your welcome John I appreciate the support. Will see you over in the community!
Love your channel and appreciate all of the info you share. The constant commercials / ads are killing it for me...
Thank you!
Thank you for the reseller community group!
Your very welcome, happy to see you over there!
Making money really helped me get over any nervousness I felt from shopping the women’s section.
You got it! Thanks for watching and keep up the good work 💪

Getting to the trift early-ish in my areas usually yields the crap tgatcwascthere the night before. Yes new parts come out but in my area it's later
Yup this varies from thrift to thrift. Some put out fresh inventory all day long. Thank you for watching!

Good will in Chicago is not a good source. Prices are insane ..
Yeah they are here too, I need to go to 5-10 of them per week just to find enough stuff to list.

Hey Beau how much of your old inventory (the bad bulk buys) do you think you’ve sold through?
Oh I would say in total about 50%, I still have a good but left from buying 4 storage units in June of 2022. But the more recent bulk buys I have at least 50% left. Staying away from buying bulk for the foreseeable future.
How often do you ship? Everyday? Every couple days?
Monday through Friday. I have same day shipping on eBay.
Hey Beau, what type of lighting lamps do you use for your photography 📸 of your inventory, do you have a link to where i can find them ?

Are you a one-man reseller doing the sourcing, taking the photos, listing, and shipping?
Yes, I used to have a VA when I was doing 50 listings per day but now I only do 20 just myself. Maybe in the future I would hire the VA back.
