Unbelievable accuracy combined with such elegance and ferociosity. If Stevie can't be here today at least we have you. Thanks for putting this music out there.
Saw SRV 2x. 1x when he was the guest guitarist on David lettermans week of shows here in LA in the late 80's at the (RIP) Universal Amphitheater, and again 5 weeks before he was killed in Wisconsin, at the B&H Blues festival at the Orange County fairgrounds in Irvine probably at the height of his expanding success and new clean livin' commitment. One of the few artists who's passing brought me to tears. Stevie & the boys did a fantastic headliner set, and an unbelievable rendition of Riviera Paradise.... it's been my favorite SRV tune ever since. Thank You.
Ótimo trabalho detalhista em seus mínimos detalhes 👏 isso é sem dúvida alguma uma ótima homenagem ao melhor guitarrista blues que passou por esse mundo
If I told my teenage self that I'd have a shot of playing these licks.....I wouldve been so stoked. Glad I didn't know.....would've spoiled the surprise. You're great, man. You have me really interested in Fraser guitars. Just cause yours is (was) so perfect.
Subscribed. Like, in the first 15 seconds. I had the complete dumb luck to see somewhere around a hundred srv club shows, and so far you are dead-on, man. Bravo.
@@seanmannguitar I tried to post a link to a performance I really think you'd like - a truely over the top piece of work- but for some reason it didn't take. So I ll try again under this post separately. Pls let me know what you think after if uou listen all the way through.
LOVING this lesson. Very important phrasing for anyone's SRV guitar vocabulary. Have you considered the idea of doing one in open positions? Just a thought. 😉
I mean you have to be the best player I’ve ever heard try to play SRV. Kenny wayne shepherd, John Mayer, etc are very good at playing like him, but I honestly think your the best to ever cover Stevie. If I closed my eyes and blind listened, idk if I could pick out you from Stevie. Thanks for this lesson mate, keep em coming!
wow this was amazing. and you are using HELIX, I have not managed to get such a good sound out of my HELIX. I admire your skills. keep sending us youtube videos! best regards MDahl from Norway
Hi Sean, what's your approach to picking and more specifically pick direction on fast licks like this? I find Blues licks like this are tricky to pick fast and smooth due to awkward note groupings on adjacent strings mixed in with hammers and pull offs. But you are able to do it very well!
Nice video Sean! Can I ask you what is the pickup setup you have in that guitar? I have a Lindi Fralyn blues special with +7% . But i would really to get that brighter sound that you have there Thanks in advance!
The lessons on the course follow the same structure as this one. Try playing along and learning this lesson and if it suits you go check out the course! Thanks for watching!
Ok, then I think though this lesson has a lot of notes or licks to master, and your instruction is fast but it's clear and seems it's easy to follow or easy to pay attention to what your saying... Thanks Sean, taking your course is on my goals list for 2021👍
Hey brother, first of all congratulations for your channels and for your great skills. I would like to ask you a question. What pedalboard model do you use?
I can't tell why but this video made me furious. I don't recall ever getting mad at a guitar lesson or just getting so frustrated playing the guitar. Still like your playing though.
@@seanmannguitar I don't know why I left that comment. It was criticism but in no way at all productive. Sorry for that. I love your content overall. I think it was how sometimes when you played it back you played it way too fast or didn't wait for the person's muscle memory to catch up before moving on. Doing it any other way would make the video longer though. Eitherway I'm not a teacher so Idk what I'm talking about. I probably just left that comment so that someone would agree and I could be like "see it's not me it's the video" while the fact is that I've been playing for less than two years. Sorry for the rant! 👀

Your channel is such a hidden gem man
Thank you 🙏
So underrated!
I got it but..It shouldn't be a hidden jam
Sean should consider starting a website like Texas Blues Alley, if he hasn't already. I've been a student there for years. Id sign up for sure
Your vids make me want to practice. They make me feel like i can actually get there. You're awesome!
So great to see an intermediate channel.
Man, this is gold. Please keep it up. I'm learning alot with your videos, and btw you are an amazing guitar player.
Thanks!
