this is a great letter. I think one of the best. The high concentration of wisdom, eloquent language plus perfect narration. Above all else, it is timeless. It can be listened to now and in 1000 years. Surely, the stoics were an exceptional and rare cast of people back then. There were many practical reasons why only few people were able to attain a philosophical education. However, I find it surprising that with todays vast availability of information, the question how somebody ought to live his life well, is not asked as frequently as it should be . Have we solved this problem in our society? Did we find a better kind of wisdom? Going through a bookshop today you will find many books on the topic of self help. Suggesting that there are many people who seek “help” on matters of life itself. If you grab one of this books you will find bits and pieces of the ancient stoic concepts. However, I find it strange that rarely the stoics are referenced. Are we re-inventing the wheel? Or is it merely a remake or a rebranding and taking advantage of most people’s ignorance about the original works? Like remakes of movies, the original one holds all the beauty, whereas the “copy” just touches the essence. I do not know how it is for you, but I feel moved by the stoic philosophy so much that I cannot understand how this wisdom is under-appreciated today. I appreciate your work and what you do. You polished this ancient wisdom and transferred it into our time. It is not just a narration. Just the act of deciding to do it and taking your time is in itself a noble deed. Needless to say that all your character and virtues shines through this work that gives these old testaments a spice of nobility. I thank you for that from all my heart.

Hi INTPWorld, thanks so much for your lovely narration. It is a joy to listen to the first 36 letters spoken with such a voice. May i ask will you be releasing your narration of further letters or if I can purchase the complete set from you? Many thanks

Thanks for the feedback! Afraid I've only done the 36 so far, I will do the rest when I get time, but it may take a while as I've a few other projects on the go.
You can also download\listen to the first 36 here: soundcloud.com/robin-homer/sets/moral-letters-to-lucilius

Thanks INTP, i actually downloaded them already (from utube) and listen to them everyday while out walking! It's difficult to move on from Letter 36 as the other narrators do not have your sublime voice which seem to send Seneca's words straight to the soul. I am not surprised you are busy :-)
