The Moral Letter to Lucilius are a collection of 124 letters which were written by Seneca the Younger at the end of his life, during his retirement, and written after he had worked for the Emperor Nero for fifteen years. (These Moral Letters are the same letters which Tim Ferriss promotes in the Tao of Seneca)

My Notes:
“What is the happy life? It is peace of mind, and lasting tranquillity. This will be yours if you possess greatness of soul; it will be yours if you possess the steadfastness that resolutely clings to a good judgment just reached”
"pleasure, on the contrary, actually destroys the soul and softens all its vigour"

To bear trials with a calm mind robs misfortune of it's strength and burden.
@nono4564 It isn't Pagan, It's philosophy
@nono4564 Nope Stoicism is a philosophy. The old stoic have been Pagan but who in the 21st century believes in Zeus and that now. Not many I doubt
@nono4564 Plus Jesus was a Jew, God in on the other doesn't have a sex, gender or race as he is everything and all
@nono4564 Opinion is all you have, Stoicism is a philosophy, that's fact. Your version of god is your opinion as there's no solid proof of it's existence
@nono4564 Sounds like a bad Idol to follow. I'll stick with my path thank you. Seems like you're on the path to destruction , like most people with extremist views.
What is the happy life? It is piece of mind , and lasting tranquillity.This will be yours if you possess greatness of soul. How does a man reach this position? By gaining a complete view of truth , by maintaining , in all that he does, order , measure , fitness and a will that is inoffensive and kindly ,that is intent upon reason and never departs therefrom , that commands at the same time love and admiration.
It blows my mind that Seneca was writing these words over two thousand years ago....here we are living in current times 2020 a covid infected world rampant among the nations of the people and yet Seneca wise words echo down the ages .Timless wisdom granted to all if you choose to accept it. Let reason always be your wise guide in Life .

We need people like u
I can't thank you enough for these. Well done. I love these to the bone. Greetings from Holland. May they continue long.
@nono4564 wtf
@nono4564 again your wrong. Ecclesiastes 7:12 ESV
For the protection of wisdom is like the protection of money, and the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it.
Seneca does not try and sell anyone a religion but a simple change in how you view life’s everyday obstacles. Don’t you know that god gave man wisdom? It is up to us to take what is good and discard what is bad. Don’t look at the speck in your brothers eye when you have a log in your own fool.

Thank you, good sir, for rendering these gems of the wise in this good and accessible form.
Nice timing for me, Thanks for the video!
@nono4564 i worship cthulhu, thanks
@nono4564 yahweh is a false god, a fiction. Only CTHULHU, High Priest of the Great Old Ones, The Great Dreamer, The Sleeper of R'lyeh is worthy of worship. Father of Nctosa and Nctolhu. The one TRUE GOD.
@nono4564 So a hypocrite really, as he shows anger with anger.
Love your work!
Very happy that you're still cranking out videos. Please never stop!
@nono4564 It isn't Pagan, It's philosophy
Thank you.
Welcome back! I missed you : )
@nono4564 It isn't Pagan, It's philosophy

The choice of contentment...SUPREME

Fantastic!
Hebrews 5:14 ESV
But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.
@nono4564 and your slapping the people of this channel with a Bible. You assume you are correct, it’s funny we both agree god is above all but your methods are no good. Plant the seed and if it falls on good ground it will grow is what god said, not to go around like a rampant Christian slapping your version of what god wants us/demands us to do.
@nono4564 Wow and you said I was Judgemental haha
This is pretty good
It's strange of me to make a request, however, as I've listened to pretty much everything you've on a near daily basis for years, I'd really like to have your voice for this, as I clearly love it and you. Have you read how to live on 24 hours a day by Arnold Bennet? I consider it among the same vein as On The Shortness of Life by Seneca and The Wisdom Of Life by Schopenhauer (another fantastic, short, and powerful read). If you decide to read it and enjoy it, I'd be extremely grateful to get an audiobook version of it. It's 41 pages, and very impactful to me. Obviously this is completely up to you, if you read it and enjoy it and feel moved enough to make an audio rendition, I would be very happy.
Thanks I'll check it out.
