I love your 'repurposed' garage! The record store is fantastic and I think using Central Perk is really smart. Together your changes propel this originally ill-thought out modular (who runs a vet above a noisy and polluted gas station/mechanics?!!) to levels both awesomeness and practicality. I totally agree that the 2nd and 3rd levels are wonderful, but LEGO really didn't think things through placing a gas station/mechanics with a veterinary clinic which is below a bachelor pad. It just doesn't make sense^^ Even a LEGO city needs some zoning rules LOL.
Johanna . Your rehab of the corner garage is wonderful. What a brilliant reuse of the space, for both the café _and_ the record store. I hope it was as much fun to figure out as it seemed to be. Thank you for the inspiration to try something new in an existing space. Just like in our world. Thx for sharing it with us.
Love this great use of Central Park. Did smile at the ledge In the cafe where the lids etc are it’s lovely detail. Also keeping the garage door is brilliant and fits so well in retro style.
You have done such an awesome job with your MOC. I believe the record shop will be my favourite in your city. And the way you created the cafe with the central perk, so nice !
Love the conversion! Quite reflective of real life gentrification! 😂🤣😂 There was an old school MOT garage in the centre of Bath that a couple of years ago got turned into a two bedroom house that’s currently on AirBnB! Your build kind of reminds me of that, it being a repurposed garage! 😉 But there are some random vinyl shops round these Western parts! One that springs to mind that would’ve been a great Lego MOC for your city- a local couple who run a record shop out of their canal boat. They trawl up and down the canals and rivers round Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire!
I would LOVE to have a bigger canal and have some canal boats. When I first build the canal in the second level I was considering that as I thought it would be so much fun. Maybe one day!
I'm building the Corner Garage right now..... and while i'll likely keep it as is ( it reminds me of one of my first lego sets as a kid; Shell Station 6378 ), this mod is fantastic! The record store is really imaginative, and you've done a lot with a very small space, nice work!
Thank you so much! I think my main issue with it is that I didn’t have a use for the petrol station as that really limits its placement, it was a very interesting design though and I am glad they released it just wanted to make it a little more suitable to my city :)
Love it! Looks really good. So nice to see the step through approach as well and to get an insight into your thoughts and design process. Don’t normally see that on most channels and it’s something I think is so useful and fun to watch. Would love to see more. Great stuff.
Great work on this! that record store with all the video tiles is awesome. I'm not sure I'm capable of repurposing my Central Perk set like you did. love the terrace you created. great work on this!
This was amazing! The record store was very creative. Using central perk particularly for the glass partition was brilliant as those glass windows pieces are fairly inexpensive on Bricklink when you try to buy a second one
This is amazing! I love that you used the vidiyo tiles as vinyl albums- that’s literally what I had planned on doing with mine- also, I impulse purchased both the candy castle stage, the pirate ship, and the boom box (the boom box was super discounted during double VIP weekend, and the other 2 were super cheap on Amazon- I wanted the figures & the parts from the candy stage for Hogwarts & Hogsmeade MOCs & well- idk what the hell I’ll do with the pirate ship or the boom box but I love the vidiyo minifigures, I never saw any of the regular bandmates from series 2 around here- so, too bad so sad for me- there’s always BrickLink! Lol) but what I wanted to tell you is there’s an old Garage near Harvard (yes I’m from Boston) that is in the middle of Harvard Square that they actually turned into a multi-floor mall/food court, etc.. and it’s got one of my fav record shops around inside it as well- the “mall” is aptly called “The Garage”- or, it was- I haven’t been there in ages but I used to go all the time bc I took night classes at Harvard, way back in the day. Good times! But yeah, I thought that was so cool when I saw what you did with your Corner Garage! Great job! Love the Central Perk stuff for the cafe as well. You are super talented! Your vlogs are really fun & inspiring & helpful, so thank you as always!
I love the record store it's a very creative idea 💡 I am going to build my corner garage and then decide what I am going to do with mine. Normally I am not a big fan of garages too and i also think having a pet clinic upstairs is kinda weird.
The record store looks amazing! And I think that leaving the garage door worked like a charm! One suggestion to connect the glass wind breaker division outside, would be to use 1x1 modified bricks with two snots in adjacent corners (not sure if they exist in dark green). I also think that maybe a 3D store sign for the coffee shop could add a little more to it. Do you create instructions for your MOCs?
I am still I. The lookout for a few things to enhance it a little. I don’t think I’ll do anything custom for this one. But I am hoping to maybe find something that would works well as a sign. I haven’t don’t instructions and I think I’ll leave it like that. I built this with the bricks. I have so it’s by now means the most elegant solution. But maybe it’ll inspire more MOCs :)
@@HighTeaToys The bricks that you have come mostly from existing sets, which is probably what a lot of people already have at home. Don't underestimate your MOCs, they might actually have a target audience, and it would help to support the channel.
By the way I don’t think you need to switch out the long white brick about the garage door. Looks good. And the garage door does have a band of white too. Just my thoughts. Looks good!
Not a fan of the corner garage as it is new and unchanged but do like this very much. Well done! Very cool changes you’ve made. I alter all my modulars too. Well except Detectives office left it cause it was our first. But have made alterations to all the others. Personalized them. Plus it’s so fun to do anyway.
Lovely MOC! So how many more Vidiyo sets to go to complete the collection? 2? And you do the silly things at the end to reward those who watch the entire video!!
Amazing re purpose of the garage. I've been working on a pop up record shop using the vidiyo tiles for records as well (bought far too many 😁) not finished it yet though.
The LP shop is amazing. Don't want modify my modulars, but I'm going to have my own little shop, eventually. Don't have space, don't have pieces, Lego money is actually not valid in real life (did you know that?); but for the moment I bought some tens of Vidiyo tiles. At random.
Love this improvement. How did you get the albums to stand in the middle of the record store? The albums on top appear to be leaning on something, really curious which technique you used for this.
The white and black together actually looks quite retro!

I think I could’ve forgiven it if at least the door/stairs to the vet was enclosed. Oh well. The issue is now solved :)

Love your changes! I think the front wall of the cafe is very elegant! But the best bit is the record store. Wow.

Awesome!

That record store and the central perk look amazing! Love those so much. Great work
I really like the corner garage but you have made it even better. The record store is lovely.

Absolutely love this. I have the corner garage and haven’t built it yet..now I’m going to excited to build and then MOC it!! Well done!
Wow, it looks amazing.
I absolutely love that vinyl store!

This got recommended to me by UA-cam randomly but I loved the creativity and the finished build! Also +1 Sub.
Thank you so much! Awesome to have you here. And so guess also thank you UA-cam? These things are so random :)
This is a great idea and like it very much. It’s good to see the printed tiles from the vidiyo sets put to good use.
The most remarkable modifications I have seen of the Corner Garage. But I like it. Souch new details 👍
Maybe the cafe and record shop could be one place with maybe a small band stage. Love the central perk fence.
Awesome Version of the Corner Garage! I like it alot and haven't seen anything like this before. I am absolutely in love
Great work on this! that record store with all the video tiles is awesome. I'm not sure I'm capable of repurposing my Central Perk set like you did. love the terrace you created. great work on this!

Looks awesome 😁, I love the record store, I also love the "silly" things you do at the end ❤️
Wow, you made it look really nice!! Well done!
Thank you so much!
You absolutely smashed this. You’ve done SUCH an amazing job! So so talented! ❤️
I actually love the record shop with garage door and the video tiles. Makes me want to be a mini fig and go look around with my cold brew
That's cool what you did to the corner garage and that record store I love I was thinking about that as well great work.
Very nice retail conversion of a commercial space.
Could definitely see something like this in the real world.
Especially like the Record store.
Don’t worry about “Illegal “ building techniques. As long as you’re not stressing or damaging parts is fine. I think thats your best build so far.
Thank you so much! I’ve really enjoyed this one as well.
Super cool!!! I love all you did with the groundfloor!!! Great job!!!
It was such a great idea! I love the idea of the record store! It looks so great! The light features really make it so nice.
Thank you so much! It was a useful way those super pretty printed tiles

Where you have placed the Record store and how you have used the Vidiyo tiles as vinyl records is epic. Very creative. Hope you are well 👍👍😀
Thank you so much! I am great, hope you are too :)

Love this repurposed Garage!! Have you considered SNOT bricking in the green door wind walls?

Great improvement of the garage..
do like the name “ the taste of the city”.
That record shop looks so cool! copy cat I think!
Lovely MOC! So how many more Vidiyo sets to go to complete the collection? 2? And you do the silly things at the end to reward those who watch the entire video!!
I only need the boombox and the K-Pawp concert and then I have everything! So very close. I don’t know how it started but I guess it’s a thing now 🤪
Quite impressive, good work
Amazing re purpose of the garage. I've been working on a pop up record shop using the vidiyo tiles for records as well (bought far too many 😁) not finished it yet though.

I like better than the original corner garage! 👏🏻😀
Thank you! Thst is very high praise indeed 😊
Love this improvement. How did you get the albums to stand in the middle of the record store? The albums on top appear to be leaning on something, really curious which technique you used for this.
Oh I see it now at 8:28
Looks amazing
do you think Assembly Square and the Bookshop half of birch books would look good together
Possibly. Though it would be a lot of medium nougat. As the right hand side of assembly square is that colour and the bookshop is too
@@HighTeaToysI feel like the nougat would look pretty good together but I was thinking about height-wise
Looks rely rely good :)
🙂
Great vlog johanna the corner garage looks really good
Thank you so much! Hope you have a lovley weekend :)
