Rolling with a purple belt plus some loop choke tips

In this narrated video I am rolling with John. This is his debut on the channel! He received his purple belt in December when I received my brown. The last time I rolled with him was over a year ago.

46 white belt. Do you do anything else for cardio? I feel I am in decent shape but when rolling my cardio sucks. I try to pace myself but gas out pretty quickly. Any suggestions?

I go walking a lot. I also go hiking once a week. I try to do 6 miles plus 800-2000 feet of elevation. The main thing you could change is not being tense during the roll. Tension leads to gassing.

I've noticed, that you and many other people in your gym wear shorts and short sleeve rashguards when rolling. Have you ever gotten skin infections from doing BJJ and if not, aren't you worried about getting staph or ringworm? Thanks!

I’ve had ring worm around 6 times since 2008. I wear both long sleeve and short. Most times when in have gotten ring worm it’s been on my legs. V
