Oh yeah! This would be really nice to have for the outdoors type stuff, and I am tempted to get this or the RX100 VII for that pocket camera size solution. I usually bring the a74 around these days, because my A7C is in the studio and the A74 is incredible, but bit of a pain to carry around at times depending on the situation. @@Jason_Hermann yes, I have the a7iv and have brought it to the theme parks with me a couple times but man it gets heavy quick haha I’ve been using the zv1f just to have something small and wide and it’s been really fun to use! But this adds better focus system, built in ND and better stabilization! I’m excited :) I used to vlog with the rx100vii and loved it, but so excited for something wider!

Thanks man, that was a nice improvement and must have required a lot of internal design work since this camera is so small. You can't just willy nilly move a 1/4 thread mount ;)

But I really love all the new options of the Zv2.
Especially the touchscreen.

I’m debating between this and the rx100m7 for mainly vlogging but I’d like to take photos w it aswell, which would you recommend?
Well the RX100m7 would be better for photos in my opinion, because it has a 24-200mm effective zoom lens which is great for versatility and it also has the pop-up viewfinder which is great for when you are in bright conditions. The ZV-1 II is better for vlogging in a few ways such as the better built in mic and wider angle lens for vlogging. I would rather have the rx100m7 if I has to choose...
What’s confusing to me is that it seems like the original and the mark ii are for completely different audiences. The original seemed like a nice pocketable travel camera, great OIS for photography, 1.8-2.8 was nice for some shallow depth of field, 24-70 was awesome for travel. This one I guess is for vloggers? But there are so many other more fitting options for that purpose… very confusing.
Well as I said in the video the original was marketed as a vlog camera. The RX100 series for example is more of a point and shoot photography camera first in the same size form factor. With that being said I agree the 24-70mm lens has it's advantages for photography and aperture speed, but it was not wide enough to vlog with while having active stabilization on in my opinion and many others... Sony listened and came out with a more suitable optic specifically for vlogging while also providing top quality best in class features like the Stacked sensor, CineVlog, 24 frames per second black out free shooting, a huge buffer, good build quality and Zeiss optics, etc.... There are a ton of great options for vlogging, but not that many high quality ultra compact options like this camera if you think about it. Just my thoughts though of course :)

Was the audio during the ZV-1 II clips using the built in microphone?
Most clips were yes, but I did use a On camera mic for a few....
Do you think the lens on the ZV-1 is sharper than the lens on the ZV-1 mark ll , to my eye's the
original ZV-1 24-70 Lens looks better , Am i wrong?
I would have to A and B them at 100% view on my laptop to know for sure, but I can't notice much of a difference in image quality. The wide angle view is a lot different though for sure and f/4 at 50mm is not as good as the 24-70mm f/2.8 as far as max aperture goes. However the 18-50mm lens has a much better minimum focus distance at 50mm which is nice for those close-up style shots... It's really just a matter of if you want more wide angle or not I would say.

How would you compare this to the RX100 Mark 7?
I would say it is a lot different for sure other than the small form factor. The RX100 7 has a lot of different features like the pop-up EVF, and a huge lens ranging from 24-200mm. In addition it has High frame rate mode which is killer slow motion if you are interested in that. Those are the key physical differences just off the top of my head.
@@Jason_Hermann Mainly looking for a point and shoot camera and some short videos of the family. Bought the RX100 before this was released. But I was thinking about returning it because of the poor low light performance and just some of the enhanced new features of this one.
Yeah, well this new camera a faster f/1.8 max aperture, so it would be a little bit better for low light shooting. However, I would recommend the larger sensor ZV-E10 geni.us/ObFCBGY though, this way you can get any lens :) And keep the RX100 for when you need the most compact camera possible... Just my thoughts Scott.

Hello there and long time no see :) Yes the ZV-1 is based off the RX100 series, but optimized for Vlogging purposes pretty much... The ZV-E10 same deal like you were saying with the A6000, just a vlogging optimized version as well.

I really appreciate the kind words :) The cameras today have mostly gone hybrid now leaning heavily into video. So now when your looking it's all about the video specs, overheating, stabilization, rolling shutter, and on and on. It's amazing how these cameras are now both awesome photo cameras and incredible mini video cameras... Crazy technology with all the tracking abilities and stuff. In any event, thanks for the visit and I'm still working on this youtube game trying to get better you know the deal 👊 By the way I'm only 4.5 years away from 50...
Jason which do you recommend Zve10 or zv1 Mark 2 ?
Well it really depends, because in general I would rather have the camera I can change lenses with (zv-e10), but with that comes more size, weight, and cost... So depending on if you need ultra compact or not would be what I would consider most between these two options. In addition the technology of the new ZV-1 M2 you may or may not want, because the ZV-E10 does not have the cineVlog modes, and the new cool touch interface for example...
This is a Sony Leica? Best camera I have had was a Leica M6 (film camera), This Sony ZV-1 looks like a digital version of the M6.
No this a Sony with a Zeiss badged lens... Definitely not a Leica, but a high quality ultra compact camera for sure...

Thanks Jay but this camera is pathetic. I liked my ZV-1 but I sold it, didn't need it. My DJI Osmo Pocket has 4K60, no recording limit and good stabilization and it's over 4 years old. How come this ZV-1 still doesn't have 4K60 minimum yet the Xperia 5 IV even has 4K120.
That's why I don't support these Sony pocket cams anymore I'd rather get a GoPro Hero 11 or DJI Action 3 it can do stupid vlog stuff and they're waterproof and so what if they don't have 1in sensor or built in ND filter.
Frankly I'd rather get the Xperia 1 V and I can watch UA-cam on that and see other reviews of how bad this ZV-1 II is gonna be. I'm not sorry Sony I'm a fan but I don't like this.
Totally fair opinion Juan and this camera is not for everyone and it's also expensive! It does offer better image quality than the cameras you mention though, and the features are completely different and vast as well. So it depends on what you need and what you require for quality. etc... I also have a gopro 9 and it is great, it has it's place, but no where near the IQ of this camera for example.
