- A beautiful Sunday here in Scotland so time for a wander around some local places. First up is a 2000 year old Iron Age fort called Tapioca Broch. Then down to Wallaces Cave, which is an abandoned mine, last worked in 1400, 600+ years ago. I could not go safely into the mine due to some risk of being trapped in there.

I’ve looked at about 10 videos made by different people of abandoned buildings. It’s more mysterious and interesting to actually be in one, but what I find missing in all of these videos is information. I could find it on the Internet, I guess. This was the best video I’ve seen, because brochs fascinate me and I’ve done cave tours throughout my life, and what little you do say is ok. I like mudlarking videos better, partly because they almost all have info about the objects they find. I do appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos.
Bit of a broch freak myself Polly! :D
I really liked this video. Thank you for taking us on a spring day to this historically important site, accompanied by the beautiful song of the birds!
Im glad you enjoyed it, thanks for taking the time to comment, so few others do
@@scoutthedoggie2002 Please tell me how are you handling this extremely cold winter? I hope you are all OK!
Love your videos this was great and what a shame that its not maintained. So many people are visiting Scotland now so these sites must be looked after

Amazing footage :DDDD
Thanks again guys for a great vid, thankfully you had the sense not to be too risky those rocks did look a bit unstable, still great work though,
Glad you enjoyed it
That has got to be the earliest permanent way of living l cant believe my eyes, there would have been a high weaved roof of bricken and staw, what a grand place to show us what time could have forgotten.
l really appreciate the video
Glad you enjoyed it Errolea, its a sad to say that all you saw in this video is not being cared for by historic Scotland or any other society.
Fantastic
Thank you so much 😀
I've been myself, I'm annoyed it's left to ruin.. is should be properly looked after.. great video though.
Yeah its surprising that it is not protected or cared for in any way.
Would you recommend parking your car in the village of Torwood and walking up from there?
I have done so a few times. There is not much parking, so just take care not to block any residents driveways.
@@ScottishTeeVee I've been in the area before, and realised that there wasn't any parking at the path to go up to the castle and the broch. I will have to head back up at some point and go for a wander.
Did you ever make it for a visit?

Hey man i went in a couple of days ago and got right in but it was flooded, does it lead anywhere, have you found anything interesting in them?
Hi Ian. The tunnels lead in different directions, as you slide inside, the one on the left heads towards the Witches Pool, which you will have passed if you walked up from Denny. The other tunnel on the right goes into some caverns and can go around in circles, we think one passage goes up towards the castle. If you go in for around 100M, you might see an old 1930s metal milk urn, it must have been in there for decades. If you see string, thats mine, I took a massive ball of string in with me incase I got lost.
From the Tappoch Broch, how do you get to Wallace’s Cave?
Head back towards Denny, follow the path as if you are walking to the blue pool, follow for a few hundred yards until you are on the old road that goes downwards the witches pool, the cave is in scrub to the left of you, it is not easy to find.
you need to amend the title of your video the real wallace cave is located on the banks of the river avon near westfied its signposted from a farm road wallace fled south of the battle of falkirk not north you can find it on wikipedia
Great stuff but I think that music has to go. It was like a gnat that wouldn't leave me alone. No offense, of course.
Hahah I spray painted the BYT on that stone wall yass
You are sick, please get help.
You fool respect your history shame on you
Did it make you a better person❓
