27:04 fun fact about hey Mr. DJ, the achievement does not specify civilians, just hostages. You can use cops as hostages by baiting them onto the dance floor before yelling at them and tying them with their own cuffs, sidestepping the need for zip ties

Challenge Run Idea: Can you beat Payday 2 like it's Payday: The Heist? Rules: You have to use the weapons, weapon attachments, deployables and equipment that was in PDTH, so no ECM's, FAK's or even Throwables. As well as no Perk Decks or Skills. Difficulty: Normal to Overkill or Very Hard up to Overkill (Since it's usually Mayhem up to Death Wish and since that how it is in PDTH) Crew AI is allowed but can't have any boosts and have to be equipped with the weapons found in PDTH And if you want only the 4 original crew members are allowed to be present during the run. (Dallas, Wolf, Chains and Hoxton) This ruleset might be a little much so feel free to make some tweaks if necessary.
Hostage Situation is quite difficult solo. There is like a designated square in the shop and if any civilian exits or enters it fails. Yes that include the manager that walks from the second floor. (The second floor is outside of the square)
The Diamond Store one is dependent on the manager. If she walks back upstairs, that no longer counts as being in the store, which means she technically left it despite still being in the building. What counts as the store ends somewhere around the staircase. It was super annoying for me to get.
This took quite a while to conceptualise on my end, but was first introduced to Kknowley back in late 2022! My route (which you can see a snippet of when displaying the spreadsheet at the videos beginning) made some assumptions that have since changed. 1. Each heist only had one attempt, no restarts at all to see how many were theoretically possible to obtain, not practically. As was mentioned, there’s a lot of moving parts with this, shown especially in Nightclub. Hey Mr Dj and Keep the party going could theoretically be done in the same attempt, but would be nigh impossible practically. 2. For Daisy (Firestarter) had an errata since I made the route. Originally you could only get the achievement if you exclusively used the Contractor pistols. This has since changed to any pistols so this opens up more possibilities for kill challenges on Day 1 and 3. 3. If you want to really suffer, you can get to Deathwish/Death Sentence much earlier than Kknowley did, as early as the completion of White Xmas. if you want to spend hrs bagging loot that is…. I’ll give more insights on future heists when they come up in video! But am willing to answer any questions you may have about the routing or decision making process!
Could you make the spreadsheet available online somewhere? And are you going to make an updated version that works on the assumption of pure efficiency with getting all the achievements or know of one that already exsists? Incredible work though 🙏
@@Palace_Pk from what i understand and could find, the spreadsheet i made was the first of its kind for Payday 2. After all, 1328 is a lot of achievements to consider for a single game! It will be reworked with the updates of some acheivements that had an errata and with the earliest DW/DS start heist now being Ukrainian Job, rather than my original assumption of Hotline Miami (Which was operating from when KKnowley had reached during his challenge runs before). As for the spreadsheet being distributed, i will at least make images available in KKnowley's discord after the entire challenge is complete. 1. as its linked to my personal account and dont want that shared out and 2. to keep the surprise and mystery for the next part of this challenge! Thanks for the comment!
7:45 I have no idea how I remember this, but if you throw a bag at your AI crew member, and just spam F while close to them to pick up the bag immediately after they drop it, you can also get the achievement like that. This is literally from over a year ago why'd this pop up into my head
14:33 This achievement is just dumb in general. The first stair step to the 2nd floor already counts as an "Escaped from Store", and manager loves to go up and down on these stairs and break the achievement. Took me 4 attempts to find this out 2 years ago :X
When me and my (ex)friend would play Payday 2, we used to grind white Xmas, as it had basically infinite loot. We were so confused when I once unboxed an Almir’s toast.
I'm late, but having done the hostage situation achievement, it's picky because if a civ walks out the store before you're even detected that means you're not getting the achievement, so you really need to rush for that one, I saw one civ right outside the door so that's my guess for why you didn't get it
The 'Hostage Situation' Achievement only counts the first floor of the store as the store meaning if the manager either goes up stairs the achievement fails. It also fails if she goes downstairs and later goes back up. Additionally, if she is sitting down upstairs she never moves and you can more easily acquire the achievement. I had to do this achievement myself recently and it took forever because of her. I am now more intimate with this heist than I would have liked.
hostage situation is a super picky achievement and the only way that me an my friends got it (we were doing the secret) was by having having one guy speedrun the mission and the other 3 guys just try and keep people from leaving the store (I think what happens is that some npc that's super close to the door will sometimes just walk out and walk back in again)
I actually really like the idea of speedrun categories inside the career mode. I'm sure there's only so many options but a "max achievements career mode" is a very interesting idea with no level reapeats.
i only recently discovered that chicken outfit guy actually came from payday 2 for the longest time i saw it everywhere online and even this dude who i saw in videos and twitch streams for numerous different channels for like a year or so and i always thought that it was just a custom skin he had made himself for vrchat and i first found out about it through watching russian badger
fun fact: I was never able to scale the money because my keyboard was broken back when I got the game and didn't let me hold the button for long enough, so as a result I currently don't have one of the easiest achievements in the game.
Watching this video has reminded me of how much care and attention to detail the devs put into the game. Even the silliest achievements and references are a neat little addition to an already huge game, that keep adding up and remind me of when I tried to get all the achievements back before the 25 Infamies were added. I think that attention to detail is missing from Payday 3, trying to make it look more "serious" than its predecessor, but loosing a lot of identity in the process. The "paycheck" masks is, in my opinion, one of the most fun references, it being tied to the real life shitty copycat masks that were always popping up in the subreddit. Anyways, this video has given me a lot of nostalgia of all the time spent alone or with my friends trying to get all those nasty achievements (specially the ones about not letting cops past X zone). Thanks for your videos as always, kknowley!
"Hostage Situation" also requires you to go loud before securing any bags. SOMEWHERE it should mention that (probably the Steam-List itself), because originally it didn't despite it being a requirement since day one for this achievement.
Impressive Half-Run of this...this logistical travel through the career I actually did consider going through Career mode like that, grinding the most out of the heists I dont have access to, as I only bought the basegame (no I dont have spare Euros rn for all of em) so im glad to see your take on it
I can not tell you how long I wanted this challenge run to become a thing really enjoyed the video I’ve been loving the challenge runs keep up the good work

Personally I'd love if you did the revival era heists as well for challenges like this, there's some pearls in there and it always pains me a lil to know you won't do em
Tabula Rasa was definitely an absolute challenge when it was first introduced as an achievement... But then Grinder came along and you can just be immortal.
After this insane Challenge is completed, I have a suggestion for another; can you beat PD2 while only having skills in one tree at a time. So, for instance, if you want Medic skills for FAK's (Mastermind skilltree) then you can't have shotgunner skills (Enforcer skilltree) or Silent killer's Low blow (Ghost skilltree). you can change which skilltree you're using as long as you respec fully out of the prior tree though. I think this will challenge you without seeming unfair, and should be completely possible.
I'm about infamy 60. I haven't really played in like a year but I'm getting my friends into it and I kinda wanna reset my stats and join them on the grind
Idea for challenge: Play heist in every difficult (excluding DSOD). That gives you 7 heist. Only restrictions are: No same heist twice, only 2 can be 2 day heists, only one 3 day heist and atleast 4 in loud. Goal: make money much as possible (edit: no Cook Off or other infinity heist)
I swear the hostages USED to not be so braindead. I recall them being perfectly fine, if a little sluggish before, then hearing reports of their weird stasis issue cropping up around the time of the EGS update. (Also followed by a bunch of weird cases of hostages resetting if they're designed to do specific animations, like the Aftershock hobos or the Black Cat gamblers, it's very weird)
Also yes you encounted the SUPER-GUARD, who's ONLY on Framing Frame Day 3, for the express purpose of screwing over an ECM-rush, he's just completely immortal just as a mean play from the devs and I'm stunned he was never patched out (Or even modded out, can we get a script for that?)
@@Pinkanator The devs indirectly telling you to git gud isn't worth patching out. It also prevents the no skill cheaters from killing everyone with Silent Assassin too. I had no idea the roaming guard was immortal and I've done FF in stealth a ton, if you run into this problem I feel like the issue is on you and not the devs.
@@Deathborn668 It's just jarring because it's the only time in the game it happens, if it was a CONSISTANT rule "no, if you keep killing more guards than you're meant to, go fuck yourself.", it's JUST this heist that inexplicably has super-guard.

39:12 Fun fact: The guard that spawns after 4 guards die is immortal as an anti cheat prevention. Which also makes it more challenging for people that use Silent Assassin mod because it means that at least one guard has to be avoided at all times and players need to wait for him to leave after a long annoying time.
He's not immortal, but his pager will trigger the alarm, unless you, as you point out, use Silent Assassin. It doesn't stop Silent Assassin players from killing him. True both on FF day 1, Day 3 and ED day 2, and I guess any other place where it's relevant.

Maybe either I or you are running something else, cause that's how it works on my end. Have you tried FF offline with SA enabled to see if you get the way I do or the way do? Someone else just told me that the SECOND spawning guard is immortal, not the first one. Is that who you're referring to? I didn't check him.
It’s interesting to point out, he did not farm either of the enter the gungeon or aniversery collectibles…… yet was allowed to reset days…… hmmmmmmmmm, also some achievements ( like doctor fantastic proc mid mission ) so you could have double stacked some grind….. seemed like a lot of shortcuts rather than more grind…..
Idk if it's pestering or just trying to be noticed, but PD:TH in Payday 2 is a good idea (at least *I* think so). Alternatively, you could do the main GTA V protagonists, Michael, trevor, and Franklin using perk decks to match their skills
i don't know why, overkill have shown they're primarily focused on making money over making a good game. just go play helldivers man, at least the devs of that game don't expect you to buy DLC every 2 months and it's the same amount of money
On my first time with that forklift, i did it with only the forklift, and i didn't know about the bug that allows you to stack Warheads on the forklift, so i went and got back 4 times to secure all the warheads with the forklift, it last 1 hour, when i finally finished the heist, and the "wait, there's a car" achievement popped up, i wasted one hour bro
I managed to keep all police out of the park or one of the places accidentally, and got the achievement completely on accident lol. I just didn’t go inside it and kept running around
After we got payday 2 on epic i gave my self the challenge of trying to get as many achivments, heist completions(only hosting my own) and safehouse trophies without dlc. I gave up at 892 out of 1000 achivments i wanted to hit. The frustration of random cheater tag is huge. DLC's didn't work on epic anyways i wasn't able to acess the christmas soundtrack santa masks while owning it. I'd love to know player retention stats on epic.
Impressive. Was this recorded pre- or post-240 release? I'm thinking of Pink Floyd there. I found a way to do it on current (240.5?), though and just did yesterday. UK's video has my description of how I did it and comments from a bunch of people that haven't been able to get it. If it was after 240 was released, I'd love to get a better description of how you did it. The cops stop trying to free hostages, that's the problem, which means they don't go to the square, which means Floyd won't kill them.
You could try to do that again, playing not the career mode but playing every heist with a team twice (for achevements that need stealth and the ones that need loud), and this COULD be possible, but still very challanging Maybe except infamy achievements
Before watching the video: "I know for a fact it's impossible to get ALL the achievements in one run, because certain heist have achievements that run counter to each other. But I'm going to enjoy watching how many is possible."
@@TheKknowley Felt the pain for the possible achievements you weren't able to get so far, but you've gotten far more than I expected or even remembered was in the game. Like the old weapon pack ones or the simple jumping achievements.
I'm not against it, it's just a matter of time investment. Payday challenge runs are already very lengthy as they're so linear, so adding another 15 hours of gameplay would also add quite a bit of extra work for me, I'd still be down to experiment though!
The hostage taker has to do with the manager. I have a mod that tells when you fail an achievement and every time she walks upstairs the achievement fails.
Yeah, that was a stupid freebee to miss out on. It's because the run is routed to not consider restarting as a fair strategy, but I added it as I thought it made things a little more interesting! That's why I've missed out on a couple like F in Chemistry - will note it down as missed for the final tally!
that and the box for what is considered "inside the building" is weird and requires the manager to be brought downstairs. if she happens to stutterstep when you're leading her, it can count as her going back oustide the zone, instantly voiding the achievement. very annoying and finnicky

Maybe either I or you are running something else, cause that's how it works on my end. Have you tried FF offline with SA enabled to see if you get the way I do or the way do? Someone else just told me that the SECOND spawning guard is immortal, not the first one. Is that who you're referring to? I didn't check him.
havent even watched the video yet, can confirm it is a banger
that guard is immortal :) ovk thought that was somehow the best way to prevent cheese on that map
I love this idea, new speed run category
guessing game took me and my friend well over 5 hours of us trying to get it, I love rng achievements.
As a payday enjoyer and achievement hunter, that´s insane, historical.
I did the you shall not pass achievement first try while i was afk with my crew AI, when i got the pop i was like "wait what?" Then "oh cool"
Idk if it's pestering or just trying to be noticed, but PD:TH in Payday 2 is a good idea (at least *I* think so). Alternatively, you could do the main GTA V protagonists, Michael, trevor, and Franklin using perk decks to match their skills
Idk why but the irony in a video about doing as many achievements in one run takes two videos is hilarious to me.
Can't wait for Payday 3 to be more developed, I have high hopes for it still.
i don't know why, overkill have shown they're primarily focused on making money over making a good game.
just go play helldivers man, at least the devs of that game don't expect you to buy DLC every 2 months and it's the same amount of money
Looking forward to the second part! This one is super enjoyable
Kknowley's Masters Degree in Economics has lead him to this historical moment.
Take your time in making it. Lovely video.
Honest to god, I forgot about the car in Meltdown. I felt so stupid for having driven around in a dinky little forklift.
Once in the big bank heist i managed to not have any firewhole TWICE IN A ROW.
(we failed both attempts and went loud)
And here in tought i was insane Finally another
On my first time with that forklift, i did it with only the forklift, and i didn't know about the bug that allows you to stack Warheads on the forklift, so i went and got back 4 times to secure all the warheads with the forklift, it last 1 hour, when i finally finished the heist, and the "wait, there's a car" achievement popped up, i wasted one hour bro
The thumbnail reminds me of No More Heroes cover art.
Oh THIS is the MODERN Dr. Miserable
Oh snap. I'm so ready for this one
Most mentally stable jimmy enjoyer
14:35 if i know this achievement for good, it fails im manager goes upstairs, so its a bit of a pain to deal
I managed to keep all police out of the park or one of the places accidentally, and got the achievement completely on accident lol. I just didn’t go inside it and kept running around
You'd have to play around halloween to get a lot of those maps achievements too which is a pain

Answer to the title of the video: No, no you cannot
"Because I value my time and need this video up by the end of the year."

can you maybe share the achievments cheat sheet, please?
this is an amazing video good work man 👌🏻
This is incredible, good shit ❤
By the way can you give the link for the spreadsheet? I really wanna do some studying and try this run. Thanks even if you don't, love your content!
42:14 that's me!
Looking forward to part 2!
Me: *sees manscaped as a sponsor*
My brain: we need to talk about your balls
Will we get the Low% One run after this one is finished?
Basically getting as few of the achievments as possible, with your default ruleset
You could try to do that again, playing not the career mode but playing every heist with a team twice (for achevements that need stealth and the ones that need loud), and this COULD be possible, but still very challanging
Maybe except infamy achievements
try stealthing every stealthable heist but you can't reset (every time you mess up you need to complete it loud and try again)
I feel like this is a speed run waiting to happen
Now how few achivements can you get and beat a run?
Roast chicken walkers are banging
Ive never heard of a game having 1000+ achievements
Before watching the video: "I know for a fact it's impossible to get ALL the achievements in one run, because certain heist have achievements that run counter to each other. But I'm going to enjoy watching how many is possible."
This guy gets it ;)
@@TheKknowley Felt the pain for the possible achievements you weren't able to get so far, but you've gotten far more than I expected or even remembered was in the game. Like the old weapon pack ones or the simple jumping achievements.
Thoughts on doing Career Mode plus revival era heists for future challenges?
I'm not against it, it's just a matter of time investment. Payday challenge runs are already very lengthy as they're so linear, so adding another 15 hours of gameplay would also add quite a bit of extra work for me, I'd still be down to experiment though!
Man, Tabula Rasa was HARD back in the day...
The hostage taker has to do with the manager. I have a mod that tells when you fail an achievement and every time she walks upstairs the achievement fails.
dont forget f in chemistry on cook-off. pretty sure u coulda done it on rats day 1 as well
Yeah, that was a stupid freebee to miss out on. It's because the run is routed to not consider restarting as a fair strategy, but I added it as I thought it made things a little more interesting! That's why I've missed out on a couple like F in Chemistry - will note it down as missed for the final tally!
That Diamond Store Civ achievemen need to do in loud
Not true
@@VagnerBagner Read the ingame description. It says "Tactics:Loud"
that and the box for what is considered "inside the building" is weird and requires the manager to be brought downstairs. if she happens to stutterstep when you're leading her, it can count as her going back oustide the zone, instantly voiding the achievement. very annoying and finnicky
Could you make a video of the safehouse trophies? I think it would be interesting
