    Excellent video once again Matt! I'm pretty much using 10 ft of tapered flouro leader in all systems these days from 12lb down to even 8lb. But I always use 3x surgeon knots to connect them, I think I should start using the blood knot as you suggested. Cheers!!

      Thanks Chris for the support. I know lots of guys who still love the surgeons and catch lots of fish but if I have the time I like the blood a little bit
      More. Not a game changer but worth having in the skill set. 👍

      That’s me on squamish with the 14 ft raft getting eaten by a standing wave. Can’t remember who took it.

    awesome video once again! Any opinion on tippet ring/swivel in place of the blood knot?

    • @PacificAnglerTV
      @PacificAnglerTV  4 роки тому +1

      I have been using tippet rings a ton and love them. But Never tried it for coho. In 99% of conditions I bet it would work great. 👍

    Hi,
    Thank you for the video.
    I’m new in fly fishing.. what would you recommend for main line in vedder and for capilano?
    Thank you!

      Versa tip for vedder or better yet integrated I s3 s5 line.
      Type 6-7 full sink for canyon pools at the cap. 👍🤟

    Hey Matt, would you recommend this leader set-up for beach fishing too (e.g. Ambleside)?

      I run the clear intermediate tip with10ft 10lb full fluo tapered leader. For the beach.

    Maxima UG in 12lbs is 0.13 its just a BIT thicker

    • @PacificAnglerTV
      @PacificAnglerTV  4 роки тому +1

      Totally right. 0.02 doesn’t sound like much but in comparison it would be like going to 9lb maxima. You can feel the difference + the clarity gain when comparing the refractive index of maxima is massive.
      Just so everyone has the numbers. I was drinking and didn’t do my homework lol 😂
      Max .013 vs blue label 0.011
      8lb max 0.010
      We all know the noticeable jump when you go from 12 max to 8lb Even 10lb max (0.012) is a noticeable jump.

    If you’re scared of your Florida cutting through your mono why not just use double uni knot?

    • @PacificAnglerTV
      @PacificAnglerTV  4 місяці тому

      The uni knot is amazing and we use it a lot but the tag ends come off at 45 or even less so they can cause catch points for double over tangles.
