Nah, let's say somehow Bakura had turned Ra against Atem. They brought up Horus quite a bit throughout the arc, Atem could have summoned him as a counter and substitute for Ra until he got him back. This would line up with the IRL game too because most of Ra's anime effects have been turned into spell cards and Horus 8 omni negates spells.
I think if the Sons of Horus were to have their own boss version of Horus, I feel like being Rank 8 XYZ could be interesting, they already got a huge pool for that Rank but it just would be sick to have it to bring the whole thing together.
@joeheitslv100 I mean that would be on the nose but I feel like a name I would do for a custom Horus XYZ would be Horus, the Eclipsing Flame Dragon. Would still keep with the "dark" flame naming and while Ra is the more well known Sun God, Horus also has been known by that Sun God mantle, so Eclipsing would make sense for trying to get both those themes together. Plus still sounds cool.
Something like the xyz Garunix would be perfect, I give you for example: 2+ level 8 (max 4) *broken effects depending on how many materials and/or related to spells* When it leaves the field due to an opponent's card: special 1 "Horus the Black Flame Dragon" monster from hand, deck or GY ignoring its summon conditions.
The Sons are absolutely nuts. Their individual effects may not necessarily be the craziest, but their recursion and massive stats are honestly good enough on their own. If your opponent doesn't out the Sarcophagus, you pretty much just drown them in advantage each turn.
I love Horus the Black Flame Dragon. It's my favorite combination of type and attribute in FIRE Dragon, it's very strong even today (if you can summon it), and in the video games, Horus is a reliable choice for a boss monster, especially in a Dragon deck! I like playing Horus in Goat Format as well
I run sword soul metaphys and metaphys horus i something I always enjoy pulling out when the opponent has some big hard to remove asshole, clear their field of everything else and then 'give me a monster'.
I run Lv 8 in my Goat deck, that King Tiger, for Spell negation and cuz 3000 ATK! (They're not especially deep reasons, but then, do they need to be? After all, I also run Mobius cuz I needed another card and Monarch!)
Im building a Horus-Ra deck at the speed of light. Now we have enough tribute fodder to normal summon Obelisk and Ra and special summon Osiris thanks to the sons of Horus.
We got cool ones tho And as a bonus, when i originally saw the new Horus "support" i found an old tv show i used to watch with a lowkey banger theme ( mummies alive, and whoooo boi is the theme so good, also oddly fitting with the new cards)

Upon playtesting I've found a lot of success using the Hieratic XYZs in the deck, particularly Sky Dragon Overlord and Sun Dragon Overlord. Sky to negate and Sun to clear the field. And even if you detach the Horus sons for the XYZ effects, you can bring them back anyway with Sarcophagus.
Well, some retrains of the Black Flame Dragon cards would be nice. It worked for Armed Dragons, so why not here? Also, a new Level Up spell, or maybe multiple variants of them? A Quick-Play Level Up whose summons are treated as being summoned by LV monsters, a Level Up Spell that banishes from the GY to level up, maybe something that makes revivals easier? Give LVs some new general support is what I'm saying.

I am so hyped for the new hours cards, I always loved the ancient egyptian stuff and getting more of it makes me so happy,even if it may not be super amazing in the long run
The deck that I run that has Horus in it is a combination Ra and Nephthys ritual link deck, haven’t really tested it yet but with the new support for Horus I’m thinking of getting them and putting them in this deck to see how they run together, and it’s going to be two copies of each card apiece including new spell and trap
Thank you for recommending Vanguard of the Underworld Emperor because I didn't know that card existed, but it's a neat L8 reptile and I love the art on it. The Horus cards are interesting; Black Flame was the best Lv monster, which was always a shame since it was also among the first, but it is very cool and it's cheeky how they made Horus dragon basically a colour shifted Ra dragon but it actually works for them because of Ra and Horus' relationship (compared to say Two-Mouthed Dark Ruler/ Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon).
One really cool piece of synergy you missed was the fact that 3 of the sons are tri-type (in fact, they're all different tri-types), and as it turns out, tri-brigade monsters aren't exactly against being sent to the grave, so I could see this engine giving Tri-Brigade a lot of powerful options, as well as a much more stable grind game.
"What do all of you have to say?" I have to say with so many lvl 8's you should take a page out of blue eyes book and run Trade-in. Horus lvl 8 also works with Melody of awakening dragon, so make of that what you will.
Thankfull there finally getting some love again... when i was at school i started like every kid at time which was stack of carda you thought were cool (mostly beast+beat 4 me)..... but as i learned and these sets came out i ran horus/armed dragon with element dragon,flips n summon skull thrown in cos fav lol.... ran that most way through middle n upper schools only issue back then was lv4 having 1600 atk, therefore masked dragons effect couldnt summon it, armed dragon was able to summon lv3 on their turn and evo to lv5 as soon as u drawn

There was a deck of that I saw that made use of porous with the mix of Centurian to be able to get out the level 12 synchros since there are some level 4 tuner monsters and apparently there are some really strong level 12 Synchro that just require generic tuner non tuner monsters and nothing archetype specific
Wasn't Horus the Black Flame Dragon line the best if the LV series and the actual strategy used IRL usef by Sorano in the anime. Only the Armed Dragon line the second best. And they were both the original main dragon types. If only some of the other LV momsters got some of that treatment and also some new ones.
For what it's worth, the main reason people like floodgates is frustration. Most people turn to those decks when they get salty, which usually occurs at the typical yugioh BS of having 0 resources or limits. 20 card starting hand +links is the definition of every game looks the same

Volcanic Shell is spicy in this. Pitch a Shell in hand with Pharonic Sarcophagus, foolish a Horus monster, pay the 500 LP to search another Shell, repeat.
Yeah but I mean all you're doing is just inflicting 1000 damage to your opponent I don't know if that alone is reason enough to have Volcanic Shell in the Deck. What else does it serve?
Would be AWESOME to have a LVL field spell that had a built in Level Up/Down abilities along with giving you the ability to reshuffle LV monsters back into the deck to search out another corresponding version that you needed. Would also be nice if it provided some kind of effect where if your Level monster was removed from the field, then during the End Phase your could Special Summon back a LVL that was lower than it previously. I always thought it was strange how it took a bit of work to level them up, that there should be some amount of protection of instead of outright killing them off at higher levels, they'd simply level down each time if they were leveled up properly by their own effects.

I've jus thrown together a Beta version on Dueling Book and, as I said it would be when I first saw these, I'm leaning SUPER heavy into the Rank 8 pool for this one, using Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon as support, with him being an easy to summon for this Deck 3000 ATK beatstick with a decent effect, plus some of the Galaxy-Eyes Xyz monsters as well, in particular both Neo and Number 107! I'm also playing Numbers 97 and 100 cuz it's too funny not to and I can!

I find it baffling that the new Horus cards don't work with our OG Horus dragon. And Canopic Protector even has the OG dragon appearing too. What gives?
Really I want them to take Ra, Nepthys, Horus, Hieratics (or at least Heliopolos and that vanilla monster that looks like Ra Sphere Mode, and Blaze Fenix, and The Creator, and make them all one archetype. and maybe the Gravekeeper's cuz they're like the prerequisite to the humanoid Nepthys monsters. Also some of their effects were good but I hate that none of the Sons of Horus don't look like Horus except for Aegis. In fact they all look like humans in armor while Horus is an actual dragon.

This makes sense as each are based off of canopic jars. By the 19th Dynasty of Ancient Egypt, each God head of the jars depicted one of Horus's four sons and protected the organs.
Destroying the game as usual... They continue to come out with cards that pretty much destroy 80% of cards that already exist. Aka konami cash grab... Always having you buy the next version that will destroy the previously op cards
But you can easily run three copies and the extra copies are still useful. If you have multiple of the traps you can activate 1 and if your opponent reacts to negate you can activate the second because there is no once per turn
@@xryuran yeah it functions like the Kashtira trap but with fodder effect, but playing 1 is enough for the engine I think , hope they will release new support in the next booster so we can play it consistenly

I loved using the Horus moster cards in the first Tagforce game, especially Horus The Black Flame Dragon Level 8 as my main big monster.
Honestly, I'm just glad Ra's not the only angry flaming chicken god overlord of Egypt that's got support

god,card of safe return is magnificent in this deck...the way thie archtype runs your goint to outlast your opponents recources no 2 ways about it.

I love this particular LV set. LV8 an infinite spell negate but it's also not untouchable and obnoxious. Shame I've yet to make a working deck yet.

Lord of the Heavenly Prison is another good card to pair with them to keep cards protected or punch

Destroying the game as usual... They continue to come out with cards that pretty much destroy 80% of cards that already exist. Aka konami cash grab... Always having you buy the next version that will destroy the previously op cards

the trap card is really great but sadly unsearchable
But you can easily run three copies and the extra copies are still useful. If you have multiple of the traps you can activate 1 and if your opponent reacts to negate you can activate the second because there is no once per turn
@@xryuran yeah it functions like the Kashtira trap but with fodder effect, but playing 1 is enough for the engine I think , hope they will release new support in the next booster so we can play it consistenly
