Lets talk about the difference between the RTIC Cooler and the Yeti cooler. Which one is better and what cooler should you buy?
Well the Yeti for sure has more attention to detail. with refined handles and higher quality materials, However the RTIC Is physically larger, and does just as good of a job and is more affordable. Its pretty hard to beat the RTIC. However Yeti is the original and the quality does seem a touch higher. Hope this video helps!

Unbiased when the guy is wearing a Yeti Shirt. I have both brands because I bought the yeti first. Later was given a RTIC now I feel like I got ripped off with the Yeti. Don't be fooled. Buy the RTIC.
You nailed it , get an Rtic. I like my rtic.
Try pelican cooler you will realized what you has been missing.
And not to mention its lifetime warranty.
Thanks for the tip 👌
Agreed. Also, Rtic doesn't leak. Kind of a big point that was oddly missed lol.
I agree! RTIC is a much better product for the money! YETI is for a clueless cult following.
$150+ more and you might not have to move the handles when you close the lid... not bad.
You lost me at "no grizzly bear certification" lol
RTIC actually says bear proof now.
even with the actual testing Yeti is limited warranty and RTIC is lifetime . so who cares about the testing.
Cause my intention is to be near grizzly bears over keeping my items cold 🥶 😂
Somehow, me thinks a side by side test run by a guy wearing the logo of one of the two companies is a wee bit suspect, LOL.
Bruh, Rtic is dragon proof certified (DPC) by the International Hobbit Association... check your facts man
haha
LMAO 😅🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
i have both. bought the yeti 1st. then took it camping for a week in 90+ degrees heat. my buddy brought his rtic that he bought from amazon. they both held ice for the same amount of time. i was very impressed with both coolers. but i felt stupid cause i paid 2x as much as he did. for Christmas this year, i bought 4 of the 45 quart RTIC in tan as gifts for the family and 1 65 quart RTIC for myself. if you are someone that likes to brag about how much more you spent on a cooler, get a yeti. if you are someone that wants more bang for your buck, buy the RTIC.
100%
lol this guy bought a yeti and had to make a video to justify it because his friends made fun of him
Ahaha so true
He said he works for yeti
You pay 600 dollars for a fucking cooler you can buy a ghat damn fridge
Facts. Yetis dont even make a complete seal, rtic actually does...
"Frat" guy trying to justify sending $400 on a fukken cooler
Tray Muse With a 'Yeti' Shirt on
personally dont see no reason to justify to anyone what I spend my money on or anyone that works buys for themself...personally more concerned of these welfare people getting back EIC refunds of 6-9grand how they are spending my tax dollars.
all this is is an advertisement for yeti. this guy is wearing a yeti shirt for crying out loud. and the yeti that is supposed to be a year and a half old that's bull shit. that cooler is brand new.
Hi there. I personally like Yeti better, if RTIC made some cool shirts, I would wear them. I can upload my receipt from Yeti showing purchase date if you would like? We have an extensive UA-cam channel, so we don't make a habit of lying in our videos. Also these coolers are pretty rugged. You could even power wash them to look new if you wanted to.
It can be a year and a half old, but only used once
Just my 2 cents (with no dog in this fight): if you were truly doing an unbiased review you would t choose subjective terms like “flimsy” in describing one product over the other. You need data to truly judge and your opinions really have nothing to do with that. And seriously - silly mistake to wear a YETI shirt for this. I’m sure you had plenty of other things you could’ve worn (your own company logo maybe?) while making this video. If you really are neutral then you’re giving the viewer the impression that you’re trying to hide an affiliation or are just dishonest. The getting defensive thing doesn’t help, though either...
This guy literally says “we” when talking about the Yeti cooler. Hard to believe this is unbiased.
Wesley...Amen!!!!!
1) Don't make a comparison video if you don't know how to remain unbiased. That automatically discredits anything you say. 2) You only made statements that made Yeti look better than Rtic. You didn't do the pros vs cons on each cooler (again learn how to remain unbiased).
3) don't wear a T-shirt with logo of the item you are comparing...(again learn how to remain unbiased)
4) I think you get the point by now...your opinion doesn't mean shit if you can't remain unbiased, even if you do have a preference.
I purchased my rtic cooler on july 25, it was suppose to ship out on sept. 14, they shipped it two weeks earlier and I already have it. The waiting period was for the tan color, the whites were available. Used it once, seems very well made.
The RTIC lasted longer in all the other tests I saw in regard to how long ice lasts. That’s what’s most important when buying a cooler. And I can reinforce the handle myself for 200$ less. Yeti needs to get real with their pricing.
Let me make sure I have right right. The RTIC 1) is larger than the YETI. 2) The RTCI has floppy closing handles, the YETI doesn't. 3) The YETI has a bear proof sticker, the RTIC has no sticker. 4) They gave a close-up of the RTIC seal, but not the YETI... I'll stop there. Based on price, the RTIC is obvisouly the better deal. Thanks for the comparison. I'll be getting the RTIC!
I fixed my T Handles and they stay up nicely! Piece of a o ring worked inside the t handle hole. Oh, and it does for a fact keep ice longer Go " RTIC " 😊
Was looking at the difference between these brands and was already following this channel for grills. Amazing to see how the quality of the videos has improved. Keep up the good work.
haha thank you
Got an RTIC 1 month ago and its wonderful, it does come grizzly bear certified now in case anyone wondering. Also the RTIC never leaks, even when its upside down. We just came from a trip and my cousins Yeti does leak when upside down. I mean not a big deal but its nice if it somehow gets flipped over.
thanks for the feedback
why not put some ice in them and see how long each keeps it from melting?
This was very helpful! Thank you, I also agree on the little things being very important on products such as this...obviously it depends on what an individual is using it for...but for myself and my wife...we appreciate the honest feedback. Cheers!
Thanks so much for the detailed info. This helped me tremendously.
yes
And.... which one stays colder longer? (I.e., which one is a BETTER COOLER)??
Which one is heavier without ice
very helpful. thanks
Stopped watching when I realized he was wearing a yeti shirt
ok
Yeti lid warps if left in the sun? That's not good
All of them do
"Tested by bears"??
I spit out my drink laughing at that one. Totally took me by surprise.
"Yeti is the only one out of the two that has the "bear-tested" sticker!!!"
Well that settle's it then, doesn't it?
(I only buy American-Tourister luggage for the same reason. It's "Gorilla tested"!)
Didn't some guys leave Yeti to start Rtic?
Did I miss the comparison of how long each keeps ice?
I love that he is also wearing a Yeti T. How much did they pay you?
RTIC is way better look up actual tests
And how much does a vendor make from selling each cooler? Might a guy make more for selling the Yeti?
all cooler sales are very low margins. It really is about generating traffic into the store. Not a big money maker. Regardless of brand.
Yea bear proof bs if a bears that close they can have the damn cooler as long as they leave me alone
grizzly bear testing applies to how many people anyway? most people will never even go to a state that even has grizzly let alone encounter one.
Im sure not going to stay around to see if it holds up lol.
1:47 When my cell is on vibrate, I’m recording a video and I receive a text !! 😂
Happens multiple times... Super professional.
So, I can have 2 rtic coolers or 1 yeti and the only difference is some slightly better handles? Hmm, I'll take my chances.
Why doesn't Yeti have that cool basket in it like the rtic?
that I am not sure
How about a tru side by side ice retention
Ooooh good idea!
Why does it sound like someone one kept dropping an eating utensil on a plate 🤦🏻♂️
The Yeti lid warped from being in the sun!? I camp around more sun than Grizzly Bears
haha good point
you're kidding yourselves and wasting more money on a yeti son
Now I actually want to buy an artic cooler the only real issue was the loose handle lol
The grizzly bear certification is a none issue. Both manufacturers have included 5/16ths diameter holes on the lid corners. You merely insert a 1/4 inch by 2 inch bolt with a nut to make them grizzly proof
Thanks for watching!
You were all about the Yeti....right down to the shirt you wear. The real question is performance, but you don’t cover that.
A comparison video with a guu wearing a yeti shirt. This ain't biased lmao
Nice comparison with your Yeti shirt...
thanks
I wanted to upgrade to a larger cooler so I printed a sticker the size of a dime with a honey badger on it, stuck it on the lid of my RTIC, and sold it for $150 more than it retailed for. ;-)
Because my cooler was suddenly "Honey Badger Tested"!!
wow
RTIC is not a long term cooler? Really.... how so?
This guys never seen a bear in his life. He also got his yeti for free for making this video.
From RTIC online purchase to my door was 3 days. Not months. Order was made 1 month after this video was published. Must have old information.
wow that is great news that they are really stepping up their service!
I have both brands, RTIC I paid for, YETI are all gifts. RTIC rides in the back of my work truck and has for years. The hadles and rubber locks neither are a problem. Rtic has held up and keeps drinks cold and so do the 2 Yeti's. To each their own, there's cheaper brands and much more expensive. For me the RTIC brand has been great for real practical use. And I'm sure a YETI would do the same. Do what works for you and don't pay attention to who likes you because of the brands you buy or not. Drink and be happy
good to know
Nice yeti shirt, seems l,e a fair comparison
ha, love that shirt
He's talking about the sticker on the inside of the lid.
Yeti is based in Austin and is Anti 2A at worst or at best, are Fudds.
Bought a RTIC for my boat and not had a problem with it. Im not a label snob I look for value and performance and would choose RTIC again.
good to know
@@embersliving over a year later So far still no problems and it sits outside all year on the boat. Boat is under a cover.
Yeah too bad Yeti cut ties with the NRA. Ill take the Rtic all day.
bob smith bravo Yeti!
Jacquelene Palmer - Ambrose turns out as it often does when listening to media I spoke too soon and they got the story wrong. Shame on me for listening to CNN.
Rtic sells directly to consumer instead of retail letting them sell at a lower price therefore artic is the better way to go don’t pay double for a yeti that does the same exact thing
nice
I use a Coleman extreme. Works fine for a 3 day camping trip. I wouldn't pay 400-500 bucks for an ice chest!
Rtic is $129
I call BS on this video! It’s very bias towards yeti. Anyone that pays $400 dollars for a yeti cooler AND THEN says it’s a year and a half old! Come one man, unless that thing has been sitting in your living room as a freaking footstool it’s not 1 1/2 years old, still has a perfect sticker on the inside of the lid!!!
I couldn't care less about the quality of handles or a grizzly proof sticker. The only thing that matters is how long they hold ice. If the rtic does that better at half the price, I can buy about 40 replacement handles or latches before it costs as much as the yeti, and it's still a better cooler because it holds ice longer.
ha good points
Could not agree more! All that review told me was both will keep my food cold for 3 days but I could spend $150 more to get a vinyl sticker the size of a dime on the lid of the Yeti.
Soooooo the latches and "grizzly bear certification". Big whoop. I don't know if I'm gonna need that in south Mississippi
First major issue with your review. The RTIC is obviously large in outside dimensions. 1. You said they’re both 65Qs 2. Then you said the YETI is closer to 60Qs. So how big is it?? Why would YETI says it’s 65Qs if it’s not?
Silly rabbit....you thought the Yeti 65 quarts as all of Yeti's marketing would suggest? No, no, no, the Yeti 65 is actually a 52 quart cooler!! Simple right?? Meanwhile, the RTIC has bigger outside dimensions because it actually holds as many quarts as they suggest it does.
WGARA about straps, gaskets fit finish etc.Put 20lbs of ice in each box strain the water out 5 days later, weigh the ice....................We got a winner.
Had both rtic hands down
nice!
It also appears that he is a Yeti retailer...
Honestly I’m gonna go with the yeti. 10 years down the road who cares if u spent $100+ more on a cooler, get the one u want get the one like👌
yup sounds like a great investment.
There is a difference between both brands. I own coolers from both and in similar sizes. I have used both for a few years. Rtic has considerably lower quality control. I bought a Rtic 20 and 45, the 20 was delivered 1st with a broken handle. Rtic did replace it, but the lid doesn’t seal tight so its a 1/2 day cooler at best. Rtic did not warranty the seal issue.
My 45 came later, it's lid also doesn’t close tight. Its as if the rubber pulls are too long. My neighbor just bought a Rtic 65 (2 years after I bought mine) and its lid does not seal tight. I use the Rtic’s at my farm and places where the coolers get banged around. I use my Yeti’s when I need to keep ice and things cold for a couple days. If Rtic fixed the lid seal issue they may compete, but until then they remain in the shadow of Yeti.
I compared the two side by side, feature for feature and bought the Rtic. Your handle issue with the lid not closing is laughable. My Rtic handles stay put just like your Yeti and the grizzly bear certification is no different than Jeep’s Trail Rated badging - a pile of marketing smoke. Chintzy seal material? That’s not been my experience. The Rtic keeps ice as long as the Yeti. The Rtic cooler hit my porch 48 hours after placing my order - pretty good for allegedly having no inventory in North America. Since buying my 45 quart Rtic cooler, I now have a 60 quart and 30 can soft side Rtic - all are top quality items that deliver lasting, real world value.
Thanks for watching!
$100 dollars less you get a accurately advertised product 65 quarts means 65 quarts . no bear testing but it has a lifetime warranty , the yeti with bear testing has a limited warranty , so screw the test. i just bought a yeti 65 , couldn't fit food for 2 days i had to leave food out. that 5 quarts would have made the difference . definitely buying an RTIC or other equivalent actuall 65 chest. heard Grizzly , ORCA and Pelican are also as good and Orca has been rated higher than yeti.
This guy is just trying to rationalize why he Got Porked with a yuppi cooler. Or he is a dealer trying to stay alive in a Now competitive market.
So are you going to put on a RTIC shirt when you find out that RTIC coolers hold ice longer and more capacity. .as far as warranty goes. .why would you have to send back a cooler?..is YETI unsure of its coolers to offer that type of warrenty?. buy a RTIC guys.. I've had mine for years and it's outstanding!
+vbr8tr if RTIC made shirts I would for sure wear one. I'm not saying RTIC is a bad cooler, in the video I'm saying that the differences are minor.
You made it very clear that although minor they were a big deal... your verbiage did not help you case. Sales 101
Yeah I screamed "Yeti fanboi" when the first thing you pointed out was that the handles were floppy... really, you got to bitch about handles? How about when you close the lid on the Rtic, you make sure you move the handle out of the way?
Anyone notice his Yeti shirt .
For $200 I will move the handles out of the way and the bears can have my sandwiches and drinks if they get it open.
Thomas Myers that’s fair haha
Nice promotional video for RTIC, not sure it was intended that way though
*gives “honest” review wearing one company’s shirt. Whilst having negative things to say about other brand* 😂😂😂
I knew before the video got to ten seconds he would pick yeti because of his shirt
you recommend yeti WHAT A NEWS FLASH
Sure he's wearing the shirt😉
“What line of work you in Bob?” Nice subtle advertising.
Refrigeration! Haha
Yeti have a great warranty system but also cost a lot more while RTIC costs a fair bit less but you get the same exact product quality as the YETI for a lot less!!!
What I can say about the Walmart brand what's it called Ozark or something? The Lids are more prone to leaking when brand new and overtime are guaranteed not to give you a Tight Seal so you will definitely get leaks also they use the same gauge steel but a cheaper quality so they are more prone to Denting, Scratching and Discoloring overtime not to mention retaining the flavor of previous beverages that have been left in the cup especially hot ones!
End of the day though the Walmart Ones cost you a lot less and are s good investment (they will keep your drinks as hot or cold as rivals!) just be warned that you will have to either replace the lids if not have to replace the entire cup in 6 to 24 months as cheap is not always bad but does come with caveats!
bro you’re shirt gave it away 😂
ha ok
There made in the same factory the guy and girl who Owens yeti divorced and the wife make rtic
Yeti was first and better warranty. Can't even believe a company would copy a great cooler like Yeti in the first place.
Not an unbiased review of which is better. It's obvious that you work for or with Yeti. I don't have any yet, but was considering this style of cooler. I guess even with your comparison I may choose the less expensive rtic. Really flimsy handle...Not a good sale person.
ok
says the yeti salesman
Dude is a serious Yeti tool fan boi. hahahaha!!!
Unbiased review from a guy wearing a Yeti shirt..lol
yup
he probably makes more commission on Yeti
Sure hope that’s a phone that keeps vibrating.
ok
Naaah .. we don't need grizzly bear stamp.. we need polar bear stamp. ..or elephant stamp seal...Lolz.
This guy should get a job on CNN
haha
Of course he's wearing a YETI tee shirt. Ha! Obviously biased. I looked long and hard at both the YETI and RTIC coolers before making my purchase. For the nearly HALF price savings on the RTIC verses the YETI, I'm glad I purchased the RTIC. Keeps my food and beverages cold for a good 3-4 days, depending on how often I open the cooler. My friends with the YETI cooler get about the same 3-4 days as I do. So for the price savings I'm sold on RTIC.
ok
this review was bunked as soon as I seen his shirt.
I heard once that the owners of the two companies are brother's but I don't know how true that is
that I dont know
Go with a grizzly cooler 👌🏼
i can careless about you talking about your coolers!! let’s test them out! i wanna see how they work
haha sorry
Pelican cooler is way better and lifetime warranty.
Today if you go in craigslist and or Facebook marketplace you would able to find used yeti, rtic and different cooler brand but hard to find used pelican cooler because everybody won't get rid of it.
pelican Is great!
His shirt should automatically indicates who he votes for.
Haha yeah
Immediately turned off the video when I was 30 seconds in and saw you had a yeti T-shirt on.
R U kidding? Do you really think any plastic "cooler" with a sticker is going to stop a bear? In my neighborhood bears peal car doors open like they were made of tinfoil. LMAO
Completely bias review! I have the RTIC and it has worked great! And saved so much money compared to the YETI. Both are good products and the RTIC will last just as long.
The audio sucks on this video but the information is good
yeah sorry
If that phone vibrates one more time....
Guys sounds like a yeti salesman
Took me a minute and 45 seconds to figure out that this guy had a yeti t-shirt on. Should I even continue with this comparison?
ok
Don't listen to his man he has a bias opinion he's for the yeti
