I like it better when you dont practice too much. I like that human aspect of it all.
it's interesting, I actually noticed the stylistic change before decino mentioned it. When he practices more, you can really discern the higher level of clinical play. But, I can relate much more to the "oh heavens there's monsters everywhere and I'm not sure what I'm doing" which really puts the focus on raw reflexes and adaptability.
Oh, and I guess we get more Decino videos? Win Win!
I've been loving your vids on this wad pack!
Yeah, I also love to see him improvise.
Normal games: “here’s a secret level - a chance for you to stock up on supplies and relax a bit!”
Evitirnity: “maybe you survive maybe you don’t I don’t care”
It actually does work like that for map 32. It doesn't force a pistol start for the next map for some reason so you should at least have a full arsenal going into Episode 4.
Keeping your weapons for the next chapter was an intentional choice, it's the reward for beating MAP32 as opposed to a pistol start coming from MAP15's death exit. Of course it makes no difference if you play every map from a pistol start already :)
Plutonia: "We tried very hard to guarantee you won't survive". Literally, they even suggest to load earlier save to use non-secret exit instead
2019: Despacito beats evilternity with some practice
2040: Despacito beats Hell Revealed II with fast monsters blindfolded and deafen sound.
...and the only reason he makes that run is because he wants to play something calm before night :)
@@TheBypasser Sunder with Fast Monsters while eating a bit of chili sauce every 10 minutes.
@@Haispawner Can't tell for the second part as I love chili peppers :P
@@TheBypasser No it's so spicy you hate it, it's demonic.
@@Haispawner It's demonic nature makes me love it although I shouldn't :P
I love how calming a Doom master can make the game seem
When I played this level, I couldn't for the life of me find the way to get that BFG. Needless to say, I found that closed room fight with the archies and the zillion zombies _a bit spicy_ as a result.
same i came here to this video because i couldn't figure out how to get it either- i died MANY TIMES on that fight as well :/
I do also like when you don't practice the runs too much. Not only does doing so make the runs more human, as you've said in the video, but it keeps them more interesting and unpredictible, just like in the trap right before you got the BFG.
Decino:- "That's a lot of damage."
Me:- "I'll go get some Flex Tape."
4:42 this section right there is for me reason why I personally never understimate Hell Knights and Barons. They don't have hitscan attack, homing missiles or amazing movement speed but they are just such goddamn tanks and they are hard to stun....fighting them in such small space with no room to dodge is really dangerous and you can just feel and see how much punishment those bastards can take and at this point - it's either you or them.
And in a similar vein, why they're so good at infighting. They have no fancy tricks, but they just apply an overwhelming amount of brute force.
I have no idea what awaits in map 32, but your whimpering sigh in the outro fills me with great hope! 😉
One of the two gigantic maps of Eviternity.
@@CarlRaven91
And the laggier of the two.
Map 31: The floor is urine.
0:43 "Get out of my way please"
Continues to violently shoot him in the face
Demons aren't known for complying just because you asked nicely.
Clearly, decino is not Canadian. He'd apologise at the very least. :D
Its a polite violence
🤣🤣That's way I like his unique gameplay
I like the way that he talk
"Health... rockets... cacodemon."
Imps.
Ah yes, the fabled 3 genders
SPEENing archviles.
I love de yellow liquid on this map. It makes me nostalgic because it reminds me of the melted gold rivers from Tomb Raider 2 The Golden Mask.
I for one enjoy your improvisations, so do continue keeping practice runs at a minimum
I like when you don't practice too much because it's more fun to watch when you are having fun.
I agree with flying by the seat of your pants a bit. Your content is entertaining in a "not compet-n demo" way, with actual organic reactions. Plus it gives more time to commentate on stuff.
The yellow waterfalls and lakes are quite striking, but what are they supposed to be though! Molten Gold!
Regarding the way you approach these videos, I say carry on if it works for you.
pee
Sunflower oil.
Satan's weewee.
Sulphur lakes maybe?
Pulco.
A lovely map. And we can really feel your fear of map32. Its a doozy!
4:51 I wish some memers make a meme about that clip when you say that's alot of damage
SO YOU GET MORE POPULAR BY THAT MEME❤👍
AWESOME GAMEPLAY BYE THE WAY
KEEP IT YOU👏👏👍
Finaly decinos great play of Eviternity. And regards from Poland
4:38 "Can I ... somehow skip this?" ... asked everyone that had to deal with that trap :D
you can safely trigger it by running back as soon as you grab the plasma rifle
The crazy (or crazily good) map is coming up. Wish you best of luck.
This map is big detailed and open, I love it
Always nice to see you play. Like it when you play it natural. Great wad.
Honestly, seeing how you steamrolled over Skillsaw's map really makes me wish you would play Ancient Aliens someday...
And Valiant!
@@CarlRaven91
Decino playing through Valiant is a dream of mine. It's easily my top WAD of all time.
CarlRaven91 and doom 2 reloaded and maybe hellbound, i think you need mouselook with it tho
@@CarlRaven91
Yeah, remember this reply of yours? Wish granted.
6:05 - those imp sounds just make me giggle after awhile
The deadly cheese lake this level is set in is making me think of Square again.
Decino, I really enjoy your style - I'd describe it as "reckless". I reckon it works great if you haven't studied the map because of how you react when things catch you off-guard. Very entertaining!
These maps are sooo incredible! Can't believe it's still Doom!
Agreed with all people who likes the unique situations with lack of practise. Honed and TAS-like moves.. let's just leave this to another guys. Still loves your videos much. Thanks for work!
3:48 is that what people call a smart ass cacodemon? Thinking it has the perfect spot to go unseen.
He tried his best ok
The interesting color scheme and multi-layered design make this level my favorite so far.
Just wanna say I love this series, great work keep it up!
You know me decino, always great to see you playing.
Yeah I totally agree; it is cool that you only do 1 practice run before showing us the glory of Doom.
One of the best things about playing Doom growing up was the tension of a new area and what horrors it might hold.
I've been eagerly awaiting the secret levels for this WAD. Even if it isn't the infamous Map 32, this should still be a fun poopshow.
Yo Decino. Honestly, thank you for making the channel and all the content. It's entertaining as Doom was the first first person shooter I ever played. I didn't know until recently how easy it was to play it using steam and downloading the wads. I'll say this, you damn well make ultra violence pistol starts look easy. Anyways, thanks for all. Doom is back in my life and I have 3-4 fresh wads to go through.
Man, those games are looking so simple and easy when Decino plays them.
gretungz evryon
The music in this map reminds me of Nik Kershaw's "The Riddle" even though they're compositionally different songs. Thanks for tackling this Megawad!
I agree, that music sounds weird with revenants' backing vocals.
Seeing you go through that "hardest fight" like it was nothing was absolutely mindblowing for me, with saves, struggling with that fight over and over again.
Heck, I didn't know about the Cyberdemon Telefrag secret
Extremely entertaining video, great!
I like how you almost die in these past few videos. Still way better than my constant dying, but it makes me enjoy the run more when you're like one mancubus fireball away from death at times.
My first playthrough of this map was a such a pain, so many traps. It's nothing compared to the long, torturous insanity that is MAP32 but it remains a very challenging map for first time players.
decino had some rather fortunate luck, in more than several places there. Nicely played!
I really enjoy the way the monsters are "hidden" in the outdoor area. They are just enough behind cover to surprise you when you try to grab items, or to sneak up behind you when you try to move forward. Next map will be a long one. ;)
FWIW regards to the blind/practice thing, there's.. a particular fight in MAP29 of this WAD where everyone's first reaction to it is the same and it never gets old, I'd love to see your blind reaction to that even if it was tacked on to the end of the main video or something :P
I'll keep that in mind.
Now onwards to craziness Decino! Level 32 is a beast!
Health is not so overrated when you find yourself brutalized to less than 20% health, eh? :^)
Tru.
I like the hellish aesthetic of this level. Although I can't help but think you're walking on toxic pee in some scenes. I'm also all for you doing more improvised runs, as the genuine surprises do make for more invested viewing.
Decino: "That's a lot of damage!"
Me: "Flex tape can't fix that."
Just playing this map pack for the first time now. Jesus christ, the room near the end with the 4 revenants and 4 pinkies. Oh my lord, it took me over 6 tries to get that one beat. No way I was going to replay the whole level each time just to try that sadist's trap again ;p
Dang Decino, you did that part of the map so effortlessly, circle strafing the revenants and you beat it easy peasy. It's funny how some areas are hard for some people, and some aren't. The revenants kept surrounding me very fast each time and just beat me down in seconds. Also the room with the teleporting zombie men and shotgunners and archviles/revenants, and the rocket baron, that one I beat the first time no problem. I guess it also depends if you kept good ammo for certain guns in these big fights. I had plenty of plasma gun there so I just blasted through everything in the room.
I thought this was one of the best and challenging maps of Eviternity. Also map 12, Brisk. It was extremely tight, fast paced, faster than this map. The monsters never let up. Some fantastic maps in this wad! Decino playing them here like it's a cake walk lol.
This map is art. The browns yellows and reds look so cool
you can safely trigger that trap at the plasma gun by quickly running back after grabbing it.
i learned 1 useful thing from this level and that is that piss is dangerous
I like that you don’t practice too much. It would be fun to see your blind runs too so you’re discovering all the level’s tricks with the viewer.
This map was a doozy I was surprised i completed it on stream with 100% kills and secrets albeit it took me like 30 minutes instead of 18 but it was a lot of fun. I still dont understand how i got through this map but i got stumped by map 15. It is nice though seeing gameplay that was cleaner and faster than mine it gives me motivation to improve. Thanks decino.
12:58 doom guys grunts from walking down those steps matched with the music nice
Wow. The sheer amount of beginner's traps in this level. And they're mostly of the "know the right weapon in advance" variety, since by the time the enemies actually spawn in, you're dead because of how long it takes to switch guns while being beaten to death in those tiny "arenas". Then again, it was made by Skillsaw so I shouldn't be surprised. Ancient Aliens was literally nothing else besides a procession of beginner's trap after beginner's trap.
2:56 more black magic in front of you decino. this map looks amazing.
Wow the yellow river by, I Pee Daily😉 Yellow poison isn't something you see very often in Doom mods.
Yeah I like the more gritty approach to your Doom play, where us the watchers can explore along with you. However your more practiced runs are still very enjoyable to watch as well🙂
I like the not practicing too much/more human style. It's kinda nice to remember that everyone gets caught up by the traps sometimes.
15:40 yes it is more fun seeing you react naturally. I enjoy the ones were you have done less runs. The switch in that room with the BFG was a bit cheese though. 😁
That wad was insane dude, wtf
4:47 ouch!
What a beautiful map/WAD :o yellow toxic reminds me of Duke Nukem
Damaging floor type: _Cheese_
I love the music on this map.
4:38 You can cheese that trap if you quickly back up as soon as you pick up the plasma gun.
I thought this map was going to be easy because of so many soul/mega spheres, until I got to 14:05 haha.
music is really amazing
It would actually be a real treat if you showed us your first playthrough of the map, including deaths and secret hunting. It would certainly take a lot more editing than usual to keep the video moving at a decent clip, but I know a lot of us would like to see how you perform without a lot of foreknowledge of the map.
That trap at the Plasma Rifle was wild. My first time on the map, I somehow got out of it with minimal damage. Died at a later part and loaded a save before the trap and took 3 tries to survive it.
Me too like, when you don't practice much - it's always interesting to watch and of course backtracking for this damn last monster to kill :)
Cool map, so many nasty traps though, the final one had me restarting so many times not ashamed to say I looked up what someone else did for it.
I love that you dont practice. Would be fun to see a 100% blind run once as well.
well, I enjoy your content, if u wanna go with lots of practice thats ok if u wanna practice just 1 go ahead, in any case just do whats comfortable fo you
Can't wait for next map... I died in there like 343472678236 times.
Nice hellknight twofer!
It seems that you don't need much practice runs before you record. So keep on going so.
Nice video.
Thanks decino.👍👊🤘❤
PS: The next map m a y b e let you change your habit. 😀
With the hitscan and different types of enemies in this wad, a fast monster run through on a live stream might be fun (may be not for pumpkin man)
Some absolutely stellar auto aim at 0:50, yeah u definitely wanted to shoot that Mancubus way up the top left and not the dude right in front of me
That poor zombieman at 10:54. He just strolls up nonchalantly and then explodes like a ketchup packet because the Cyberdemon is failing to shoot at you.
Oh lawd , map32 is comin’...
DOOM god does 100% in second run.
That Hitscan-Hell bit with the Archies, Revenants, and that one Annihilator was horrifying. Worst part was that I didn't know about the BFG secret. I had to tough it out and dump every last bolt of plasma I had into those bastards.
I admit with no shame that the one time I survived that without the secret was a fluke. Total fluke. And I don't care for it.
1:27 - I'm not sure a Supercharge is worth it if I have to wade through a pool of urine after grabbing it. 🤢
Lava here looks like molten cheese. A welcome change after the usual tomato soup.
That trap at 4:40 is absolutely brutal if you're not prepared.
I like how this map is filled with oceans of urine.
4:48
damn!
Those hellknights remind me about imp trap in Doom 2's Factory
4:49 megaspheres save lives, this is proof.
it's like the map designer was playing hide the cacodemon
Omg it's so satisfying when you kill a baron of hell or hell knight with a super shotgun
Yellow water that hurts you. That's actually very nice. I like how in old games you could change texture color with color palet. Serious Sam 1 had that for both textures and models too. I miss that in modern engines/editors. Music in this level is awesome too!
Btw, a PCGamer post from February 11th 2019 says that Eviternity had hit its final revision and that it has six episodes with five maps each and you have played 3 episodes only. Did you plan to play those 3 episodes after secret levels? I don't remember how you used to make videos with Hell Revealed. Did you have secret levels in the middle of the wad or at the end of the wad?
I do all levels in chronological order, so after 15 comes 31 and 32, then I go back to 16.
@@decino Oh nice. That means the wad isn't over yet. I don't mind watching more of this great wad.
Yep, in Doom 2 mapsets the secret maps (31 and 32) always come in between maps 15 and 16.
Impressive!
Ha, got it?
So when you do these new maps, do you look up the secrets ahead of time and then explore them on your practice run? Or do you just painstakingly look for all of them on your practice runs?
Explore blindly during my practice run. Any secrets that I cannot find I will track down with the IDDT cheat.
@@decino I'd expect nothing less from the guy who left his computer running for hours to complete all kills in one map of Serious Sam FE.
I know that stanky midis with the windows soundfont is a meme, but dang, the music is hilariously off-key here, which is a shame, as it's a cool track. It's a song from an older wad, and I have no clue if it's the product of midi to mus artifacts, like with HR map 9's music. I do know know that it sounds better with a soundfont or with opl-emulation though, maybe that's the intended way to listen to it.
I had to look up the track because I like it so much. It's off Map 13 of a wad from 1997 called Strain. Composer is Mark Klem and the track name is Land of Able.
@@x1teDota
Klem does good music. His Memento Mori 2 tracks are very notable.
He's not exactly James Paddock, but he's good.
Now that's a lotta damage!
How 'bout a little more?
I really hope they make a Pinky variant that has a BFG mounted inside its mouth.
The floor is emulsion
I just realized an oddity. Doomguy can only carry by default 50 shells for his shotguns, but also 50 rockets the size of his leg. Maybe the ammo limit in Eternal is so tight because he has no clue how to organize his pockets.
