I don't think it's his likeness...I think it's the original video for yellow, with simply the mouth AI'd for the lyrics, and apparently Martin helped train the AI to get the mouth right. It's pretty amazing...oh, and we're all screwed...
Is it more likely he was trying to think of mezzo staccato though? I just think it's unlikely a guitar player wouldn't of thought of legato straight away, I could be wrong.

I went to a fantastic punk gig in York at the weekend - Smalltown Tigers from Italy, who have a new album out. Anyone who likes a rowdy 1977 flavour to their punk should give them a listen - they deserve to be much bigger than they are.
05:20 😂 that reminded me of a joke that said something like: _I'm so humble...I'm the most humble person in the world...well, I'm the f***ing master of humility!!!_ 😂 07:15 🤣 love you, Justin!🤣 07:30, 08:23 🤣🤣🤣 Brilliant episode, such a good laugh today😁!👏👏👏❤️
@@Rymdpandan I came here to watch Justin talk about the song. If you came to listen to him talk about his tour or whatever thats fine but the rest of us might want to skip to the actual video
In music the opposite of staccato is legato. JHRA opening theme tune could be played in staccato, and a closing version played in legato might give the JHRA video a sense of closure. Elizabeth line is not actually a tube line, it uses trains designed for longer journeys. With no first class option, might be sensible to take a taxi. With Tangk leading the UK album chart midweek, it will be intriguing to see whether the Idles get to number one at the end of the week.
@@sids61 Sorry that you feel concerned, however I am completely fine and content. As for you though, I think you’re the one who seems upset that lacks the mind capacity of abstract thought
I saw the video without realising the context of it being Idles, and genuinely thought it was a new Coldplay track, because I thought it sounded exactly like Martin.
Chris Martin actually came into the studio and allowed them to record his face singing the lyrics so that they could use AI to mashup with the old video. Not a fan, but that's pretty cool of him.
I love the sound of these guys... Sounds quite like The Editors, tiny bit Suede, oooh and bit more Ride, that's who I'm thinking of!!! Loving this!! Thanks Justin, will be giving them a listen 🎉
I can’t stop listening to Pop Pop Pop, and Roy. The brilliant Nigel Godrich worked on the album. Apparently Chris Martin was not only cool with the video, but helped make it.
Beatles-esque in a fourth way at least as i detected a bit of melody that was very within you without you (and there's a more general essence of that too. I think There's a version of within you and tomorrow never knows "mashed up" as they say)
Opposite of staccato would be legato? You ain't got time for "TH" but you got time for "should have" instead of "should've or should of?" One saucer of milk coming up, Mr. Hawkins.
That’s probably Nigel Godrich’s influence. He’s a genius artist in his own right. The sixth member of Radiohead.. and he’s made brilliant albums with Beck and others, always works with interesting artists and bands and manages to elevate even the best of them.

Haha I love him
I can't imagine Idles doing something like this without making sure everyone involved is okay with it anyway. They are not that kind of band.
my three year old daughter says "fink" instead of think, and I hope it never changes and she someday fronts a punk rock band.
Best Girl Dad Ever. 💐💐💝❤️

The power of that Idles song really creeps up on you after listening a few times.
No god, no king

If this gets one like justin has to perform an acoustic of “love is only a feeling” for us 🤩🤘
Their new album is absolutely divine. It’s so atmospheric and layered and just pure delicious music. You should react to more!

Actually, that melody is "The Circle" by Babble, which was the guys from Thompson Twins.
Ooh that’s a great tune. Nice one.
Where do you think they got that from lol?
Oh nice catch! It really is similar
Always a pleasure to watch and listen to you .. This was definitely a interesting one .
Mr. Hawkins, who took the Fluffster hostage?😂 It went so well with the Hoff😍
Thank you for existing. Your bravado and spirit is mesmerizing ❤❤❤❤thank you from Ontario Canada 🍁
Honestly I didn't notice the different theme tune purely due to the gloriousness of that Jacket. Spot on. X

That verse melody also resembles Radiohead’s track Palo Alto, b-side from Ok computer era
Absolutely! And the whole album has some Radiohead or Thom Yorke (The Eraser) vibes! No wonder Nigel Godrich has been behind this album
The bass is massively the piano line from Baba O'Reilly... dun, DUN DUN

The verse starts out like Always Something There To Remind Me.
Sounds like an LCD Soundsystem song to me
IDLES had a recent LCD Soundsystem collaboration too (on the song "Dancer"). Certainly could be an influence.
As a misophonia sufferer that drinking was challenging sir. That aside sterling work as always.
..."I need to bring back Sir Justine's friends as soon as possible"...
lol. He said the tube is fun.
What an out of touch rock star!
could be Chris Martin singing they sound so similar on this track.... love it!
It doesn’t matter you are lovely no matter how you play the intro ❤
I've booked two 😆 Bristol and Hayes!!! So very excited.
He's a funny fella that Hawkins. Like it.

Legato = opposite of staccato, but you knew this already.
Bill Ryder-Jones album is a must listen too
It's a good one.

Nice staccato version in the intro man
I do believe the opposite of staccato is... legato! Keep doing that thing you do, good sir!

Lagato, staccato is fire though
Opposite of staccato would be legato? You ain't got time for "TH" but you got time for "should have" instead of "should've or should of?" One saucer of milk coming up, Mr. Hawkins.

@@tomiroquai "Should of" is basically incorrect English. It's "should have". "Should of" is an expression used exclusively by morons.

I heard that the original 'yellow' video was different, but the mother of coldplay's drummer died so they filmed on the beach instead.
How utterly subversive, next they will be wearing dresses on stage.
Riptide - Will Ramos (of Lorna Shore but doing solo stuff) would be interesting to hear comments on
I love all the versions of your theme tune. You should do a punk rendition as well.
Actually i think you'll find that their major influence was Into the Deep, by Kula Shaker! No? Anyone? Yes?.......Hello?
Blissing-out to Patti Smith's 'Horses'. :0)
It also has the same melody as Palo Alto by Radiohead "In a city of the future, It is difficult to concentrate"
Think you’d love gratitude off the new album
New T Shirt Idea... "The Fing is... we aint got time for TH"
