As a die hard Ultraman fan, this movie absolutely works for me even without the Ultra lore and fights. Because the heart of Ultraman is still strong in this movie^^
If we get enough buzz about this movie tho, the director will make the trilogy he planned and also side stuff for expanding the lore!

And you're right, this movie NEEDS the buzz! And I love to see the lore expanded and maybe even get looks at other Ultraman or classic Toku characters!

I wasnt a fan of Ultraman before this movie not because i hated him though. After watching this movie i wanna know more about the character and hope he somehow enters the Monsterverse and they do him justice
I think that would be really cool! I'm not sure if toho can make a deal or not but it would be pretty awesome. If not, they could hopefully do Jet Jaguar one day who is already an homage to Ultraman!

It’s funny, I both love this movie along with the original television franchise, which also spawned an anime series before this.
