Thanks bro, my goal was to catch them on Spinning. Had many before on Shore Jigging tackle but it's so much more fun on light gear! Yes next target get a big one! 💪 Tight lines Max
if you want to fish for mahi sustainably (with a good chance for survivability) perhaps you can keep a topwater or small surface metal with barbless single-hooks in your box for when you encounter them. That's what i do personally for small amberjacks and blue runners when the are just coming inshore in spring and they are still too small and in massive quantities. most pelagic fish will rather mortally wound themselves than get landed, that's just their spirit of survival. Massive respect for the responsible angling though. we need more like you!
Thanks man - yes indeed! Great to hear that you think the same way! That's a good idea, I used barbless hooks in freshwater a lot for spinning and fly fishing but in saltwater so far not. 🤙 Tight lines Max
Max, splendid video, how splendid are all your videos, particularly technical, catches made with a spectacular Zenaq rod, if I'm not mistaken it is the Plaisir Answer 90 RG. MAHI MAHI my favorite fish, beautiful place, great Max keep it up
Thanks man - yes it's the PA90 Plaisir Answer with RG Guides - casts like hell. Very versatile rod for Barra, Tunnies, Mahi, smaller AJ, ect... Tight lines Giuseppe!
Loved every second of it! Mahi are craaazy, especially out of the water. Put a single hook on the jig so it's possible to do a quick release with the help of pliers. Its not so common to find them in pack near the shore but when it happens its good to have fun until they stop biting ahah Great respect for not doing a massacre here :)
Hello Seahawk, honestly I don't know anymore in detail. I record in 1080p but I do also postproduction. If you have a specific question I'm happy to have a look. Greetings Max
Haha of course I do so! I don't care where it comes from it's important for me to have a handle I like. The JP plastic handle is less valuable compared to the Gomexus, also it's super huge (same size like the bigger models) on a quite small reel. Tight lines Max
Hi Max, great movie, thank you! What thickness of FC leader are you using and what length? In which position do you prefer the connection knot to be for best casting performance with the RG guides on the rod?
Hey Jef, with the PA 90 I use 0,35 or 0,40 FC leader in the longest possible length (~ 4 m to 4,2 m). When you cast the knot (I use FG-Knot) is between reel spool and first guide. Important is also the main line - I use PE 1,5 the result is a slim and sexy FG which passes through RG Guides without a problem. Greetings Max 🤜🤛
You are right! I love this combination - I was a daiwa lover for a long time but the Twin Power is doing an awesome job! Big plus - it balances the rod very well! ✌️ Tight lines Max
@@maxdocken Max i have twin power 8000 pair with accura 100h and saragosa 6000 pair with tailwalk manbika 100xh im a shimano lover also it has the best service in greece !!!!
Great video Max! What are your overall thoughts on the rod? What lures/jigs do you use most with it? Is it good also with 14cm lures (18gr) please? Thanks!
Hi Samuel, thank you very much! PA90 is an amazing rod for all sort's of medium shore fishing. The casting weight of 50g offers you a wide range of lures and target species. Stalking for Tunnies, Bonito and Mahi with casting jigs, to heavy Seabass or Barracuda fishing with Minnows until light Jigging for everything that's around. Amazing is also Topwater fishing for Bluefish! ☝️ I fish most of the times Minnows between 20g and 35g as well as Topwater Lures up to 30g as well as jigs with 30g and 40g. The blank of the Jaw Breaker is harmonic (Regular-Fast) with a power butt section that allows you to fight big fish. In my opinion it can cast and animate 14 cm lures of 18 cm but I think it's the lower level. If you fish mainly lures like that I would prefer a rod out of the Snipe-Range. I fish the Zenaq Cast Master as well it works slim lures in this range amazingly but it's long 285 cm long. Check out my Topwater Seabass Video! Tight lines Max

What reel is that ?
It's the Twin Power SW 4000 XG -> perfect fit for PA90! I tuned it with a Gemexus knob for better fit and look!

very very well...these fish are a show, we have to let them go free....
I agree Francisco, but also a green fish for the kitchen, so in my opinion OK to take one or two but not too many!
