Great video. I’ll say tho that you can spray that throttle body thoroughly. I’ve done it for years on many models. Just don’t hit the sensors lol the grease is protected inside. Thanks for the video.

good video, I cleaned mine over night plus I was installing a p2r throttle body spacer with thermal gaskets, surprisingly though, I didn't have any problems without a scanner, I never had a cel to begin with, but I just plugged it back in but TBH I first cranked the car I fucked up and didn't plug the map back in and it was definitely acting all kinds of weird lol vsa light was on and it was doing crazy stuff but I reset the ecu via gas pedal method and the unplug battery way, once I realized my mistake I plugged it in and was good to go it idled right at 800 like it should too

I think you answered my question but I'm going to ask anyway. If I unhook the battery, then plug it back in will that reset the throttle so that I can do the gas pedal/idle retrain thing??
Where is the idle air control valve on these models? I need to clean it also.
I got a check engine light for a ecm/pcm code, I bought a pcm relay
I saw in another video, someone mentioned to not use wire brush but a toothbrush, to prevent scratches.

Ok Im have a problem with my 04 tax. Got a new battery and in the process my ECU got reset.. I leaned how to reset from videos on UA-cam and article so I under stand it has to be driven to reprogram everything.. after that I returned back home hopeing everything WORK. Started it an HR later and still doing the same exact thing.. it was slaming into gears and when driving won't shift out of first.. (This is whats trickey. I'm under the impression it's resetting the ECU Everytime I start the car??? Or what can i do to get the ECU to reset itself properly AFTER my DRIVE ??? Ifollowed instructions and took it on the exact RESET DRIVE.. it's just not being (ENTERD) idk I'm at a loss and need help

Yeo just wanted to ask I was adjusting my throttle cable cuz of slack and I tightened it a bit and after so I received a check engine light. I think the sensor thing was disconnected while I turn the ignition to on but didn’t start the car and then plugged it back in. Could that be the reason why? I had no check engine light issues prior to it.
i think you disconnect or touch some loose wire, check carefully
is this only for drive by wire throttle or does this also apply to cable throttle with idle valve ?
Yes it’s a 3.7 and I just added over 3quarts, I’m starting the fuel consumption test this week

I started the oil consumption test yesterday which consists of an oil/filter change and every 1500km I have to take it back in to measure the level of the oil to see how much is consumed. I get home and checked the dipstick and they pulled a cheeky trick by trying to overfill it 1/4 inch past the full line. I took it back that day had the service manager check it and had them removed a good amount of oil so now it’s sitting in the middle of the dipstick lines. If anyone is going through this consumption test make sure the dealership doesn’t skew the test results by overfilling it and telling you it didn’t consume that much oil.
Acura does not want to fix these vehicles because the fix is 1 week in the shop and replace all affected internal engine parts, pistons/seals, etc.
I like your vids bro, i’m thinking if doing this to my tl, also can i ask what transmission fluid you use, the manual says use dw-1 which i think is red, but my car has yellow is it okay to mix them? Thanks
You said no load inside the car, if my Amp for my sub is on, should I disconnect that?

Hey man!! I have a serious problem, ok so I replaced my valve cover gaskets and my manifold With my throttle body. And at first it was doing ok, but then my check engine light came on and it would Reve between 1k/2k so I put my old one back on and it started doing fine, but now when I turn my car on sometimes my gas pedal won’t work so I’ll have to turn it off and on and it’ll work. I don’t know what to do, if you know anything please help!

Hey man! I have high RPM at Idle ( about 1300 rpm) after changing a battery and cleaning the trottle body. Should I do a PCM reset or a trottle position reset? Or both? Thank you, you are the wizard of TL’s btw!! 🤙

if you are dong the idle relearn holding at 3K rpm and the VSA and traction light comes on, what does that mean?
had this problem too after replacing my throttle body using the same map sensor.

@@bryanghanny6020 I was upgrading to the J35 throttle body. If you messed the throttle body up and turn the car on and it starts reving and the VSA & TCS light come on, turn the car off. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery and make sure everything in the intake and throttle body are plugged in, then 15 minutes later, reconnect the negative terminal and start the idle learn procedure.
@@shekydabooky thanks. I was just wondering because Ive had this surge issue for years and Ive changed every sensor including the infamous APPS with no resolution. Ive heard some say a bad throttle body( dead spot) can cause it so I was just wondering. Thanks man. Appreciate the help

I got a 03 Acura TL when the engine is cool it will drive fine but once the car warms up to normal temp it’ll start not wanting to change gears or completely stop I’ll have to turn car off wait like 5 mins for it to cool down then I can drive another mile or so any ideas what could be wrong…new coil packs new plugs new trans filter new fluid please anyone help

How to know when can turns on
What’s going on bro I was wondering, so I just cleaned my throttle body did everything you did but now my car isn’t driving right. I plugged in everything all the clamps are on. So basically I was wondering if you absolutely need to erase the throttle body memory and do the idle thing.
When you get a erratic idle it's best to do it sometimes you don't and sometimes you do .

Just tried this on my 2015 tlx. Did the throttle relearn after replacing the MAF sensor and cleaning the throttle. My CEL came on and it’s reading P0171 and P0174 (system too lean bank 1 & 2) any suggestions? I already made sure everything was put on tightly and correctly.
Sometimes cleaner residues can affect the sensors as they are getting flushed out. It will go away in a few days or weeks generally!
I seen ur videos on changing transmission pressure switch, it was on ur TL thank god that's good. I have a 05 RSX I was wondering if they were similar or the rsx's location of it.

Another question concerning my 06 auto transmission, I changed the pressure switches that did get rid of the blinking d. Now just started bout 2 days ago it won't go in reverse without removing the lil clip to manually switche thru gears. Is there a fix or is it time for new tranny. I recently replaced a ripped intake boot. And now my car sounds like its clogged sucking in air. And loss of power. Almost like the throttle plate is closing shut at wot. Anyone had this happen to them

I removed my Throttle body to clean it like you did, once I plugged everything back on, the check engine light and vsa light came on at the same time and the car started revving higher by itself, have any clue what the problem is ?? thanks
did you plug back in all the connectors maybe you forgot to install the connector to the map sensor or the throttlebody connector or maybe you messed up the throttle body plate inside.

check your master cylinder fluid level might be low

Hi bro , I have 2009 mdx , I clean throttle body without removing it , after cleaning the rpm is jumping up and down without pressing the gaspedal and also the check engine light was on but we cleared it, still the rpm is jumping up and down, any advice thank you.

You don’t want to remove and clean the grease on the corner of the opening. It make it smooth and not get stuck. She explained in the video

The bolts holding the throttle body on are NOT 12mm. The bolts are 8 mm x 1.25 with 12 mm HEADS. When instructing/demonstrating you must be accurate when teaching others.
