Take off the TBU take it off slowly try not to move the butterfly use TB spray cleaner leave it to dry over nite install an let it run don't mess with it. Power will be restored

Weird advices, I wouldn't advise anyone to remove and clean their throttle body without having the possibility to reset the TB with a computer unless they want to experience weird revs issues etc. First get a computer with the proper software to control your pieces then remove and clean it.
Hi, its safe to push the butterfly on an electronic TB? While is off and out the car. I’ve reed that the gears on the TB can get bad. (Toyota 4runner 2012)

I replaced my throttle body and ran the car til normal temp . Then I drove it seems to be good . I didn’t do this before and had a surge like the transmission was slipping . Hope doing the relearn corrects the problem. I bought a mass airflow sensor plugs coils and a new pedal. Not knowing this was possibly what was wrong .

My scan tool is throwing a P1101 twice, pending & permanent. P0299, P2227. Replaced the turbo booster sensor & cleaned the MAF sensor with MAF cleaner. Engine light stayed off longer than it was after all that. But ultimately came back on. So I removed the throttle body tube and noticed some light gunk & condensation bubbles on butterfly valve, So I carefully cleaned that as well. Same codes still show. ANY advice would be much appreciated. (2017 Chevy Malibu LT 1.5 Turbo) Thank you! 💪🏼

I got a 2006 Kia Optima EX (Old Body) 2.4 L. I recently replaced the power steering pump with an new OEM pump plus new belt. System flushed & filled. While I had the time, I removed and cleaned my throttle body and mass air flow sensor. Car runs good but got a slightly high idle speed greater than recommend 700-800 rpm. There is no fluctuations in idle speed. Starts great… new IAC valve PO507. What is the relearn procedure for my TPS? I want to get the idle back where it needs to be.
I swapped out my throttle body (it would randomly go into limp mode with the lightning bolt and traction sensor) and after I did, it was permanently in limp mode with a worse sounding idle along with my check engine light. Would a relearn fix that? Or is the new throttle body faulty?
Thank you so much recently cleaned my throttle body and mass air flow sensor. Just took me 2 hours to do a 35 minute ride here to work and I'm a couple miles away I keep stalling and I keep resetting the battery. Just went and bought a can of Lucas fuel injector cleaner to go in the gas tank and filled up and also bought a can of throttle body cleaner so I can clean it one more time and reassemble it and let it drive around 40 miles an hour on the highway like you suggest I pray it works my car is a 2013 Acura TSX special edition 4 cylinder. What Relearns do I need to have done on my 2010 Kia Soul 2.0?I changed the Coolant Temperature Sensor,Purge Valve,Crankshaft Position Sensor,Idle Air Control Valve,Fuel Pump & Fuel Filter,MAP Sensor,new battery,new spark plugs & wires & I have a new Throttle Position Sensor,but haven't changed it yet.I may have to take throttle body off to get to the 2 screws that are very hard to unscrew.Car is wanting to stall after driving 15-20 miles & feeling low power surges,plus a little vibration here & there.It gets so frustrating.I am just finding out that certain new parts need a relearn.What ever happened to replacing old parts with new ones?
I have a question - not sure if you can help. I just had the throttle body on my Polo 9N3 replaced because of intermittent starting issues (it would crank for a longer time occasionally but always start after this. When briefly switched off after this, engine would start immediately). Now I have a car that's hunting when I first start it up, RPMs going up to 1100, going down to 800 going back up and sounding like it's stalling. Didn't have that issue before the replacement. Mechanic suggests it could be the oxygen sensor - but why did this problem occur all of a sudden after the replacement?

It's truly variable based on a mix of distance and how many cycles going from a stopped position to 41mph(I believe it was). If you just hop on the highway and drive at 75mph, you could go hundreds of miles and still hundreds more without it relearning. Best to do city/highway mix. In my case the only way I could fix the problem was having a shop reprogram the TPS and APS simultaneously.

i had a shop replace this and the throttle position sensor. now it idles sometimes at 650rpm or really low at like 500 or 450rpm. also when i put it in reverse sometimes it goes as low as 250rpm almost shutting off until it revs itself up to normal idle. also i was just pulling into the driveway earlier and gave it a little gas and it revved itself up unexpectedly lunging itself forward for a second before i stepped on the brake. kind of annoying
This video was far from educating. All I learned was that some cars you may have to do this and some cars you may have to do that and other cars you may have to do this, but with other cars and certain cars you would need to do this. Which cars do you need to do which procedure?
Please help me out. I have a rough idle when I load to Drive or Reverse. So I change the throttle body but still rough idle. How do I calibrate the new throttle? Golf Mk4 1.8L 20V engine.
Use VCDS/VAG-COM to reset it properly. Rough idle might also come from a dirty EGR valve or a dirty MAP/MAF sensor, or spark plugs and everything related to it, clean everything up and it should be fine.

Brake cleaner or Carburetor cleaner to clean the throttle body? Nope! They leave residue behind. I'll only use throttle body spray cleaner, or Mass Airflow sensor spray cleaner.

I replaced the throttle body, did the relearn procedure (2009 Envoy). Idle is now good, however, once I just touch the accelerator, the car RMP jumps up causing the car to lurch immediately. The RPM is jumping from 800 to 1200. Any idea? Again, just touching the accelerator with limited acceleration.

Hello 1A Auto from ON, Canada….what’s the process for 2019 Mazda CX-5 GS AWD 2.5L Non-Turbo? i have cleaned the throttle body with CRC Throttle Body Cleaner and when i placed it all back together the RPMs started jumping with the throttle plate acting like it’s got Parkinsons LOL ….one of the mechanics believes after checking with a code reader ipad it’s placing pressure on the Purge Valve….please help me figure this or should i drive on the highway for a while and that might reset the throttle body or have a re-learning process conducted? thank you…🚙🤙🏼😎

Gm 3.9l v6 will start the car and it’ll drive then suddenly after coming to a stop randomly wether it be a 5 minute cruise or an hour long drive it’ll bounce into reduced engine power. Currently trying to re program throttle position sensor took it from my other car (3.5l) it fits perfectly. But I notice rpm’s are off slightly and I have afm which activates at about 1300 rpm’s on the highway but I’m revving at about 1650 so when it de activates into 6 cylinder it’s a little harsh. Any help relearning would be great

@@thechongsterful my 06 Altima had similar issue, except it threw me a p0507. Drove with it for a few days then when accelerating from red light the acceleration stopped for a second then I drove another 15 seconds and it happened again while driving , not from starting from a stop. It won’t turn on now. I had it cleaned as it was dirty af. It turns on but after you let it sit for an hour it won’t turn on. The service engine light doesn’t come on anymore. I haven’t done the relearn code yet.

Just learned that after replacing battery in Cadillac ATS that throttle body cycles and relearns itself turning it on in acc mode then shut off then turn on ect
This doesn't work on a 2006 Pontiac G6. Just buy a Foxwell NT510 Elite and you can reset it in 5 minutes without causing all the wear and tear putting a car in gear when it's idling too high trying to do the stupid relearn that doesn't work on some GM vehicles. A shop will charge you for a full hour of labor (about $150, the price of a scanner that corrects the throttle position sensor), unless you know somebody. You'll drive all around town looking for a decently priced bi-directuonal scanner. Just order online and plan on not driving your vehicle until it arrives. I wish I would've just done that instead of spending a whole day wasting time. Don't follow advice on cleaning your throttle body without having a professional scan tool to reset it.

I cleaned my throttle body and idle feels good except when i rev it in park the idle stays at about 25k rpms. When i shut off the engine and turn it back on it idles good, would i still need an idle relearn?
2008 Ford Fusion, Throttle body wrench light came on, Cleaned throttle body and put everything back and the wrench is still coming on and off and car is driving rough, like trying to pull out of my driveway and the car will sometimes shut off, No check engine light or codes minus the on and off wrench light,

Why would you relearn the throttle body instead of buying a 6 dollar can of throttle body cleaner then it won't need to be relearned I could see maybe drastic temperature changes made a reason to re learn but if theirs carbon build up just clean the thing out its quit easy and simple and probly the proper way
I’ve bought a 2007 Chrysler Sebring and have problems with it missing and hesitates going uphill took it to a mechanic 😒 they replaced spark plugs 3 times, put new coil packs on and crank sensor and it didn’t fix it. They said they’re was a misfire on cylinder 2. The lighting bolt symbol comes on sometimes. I’m no mechanic but something is wrong if you replace spark plugs 3 times within a year 2 times within 3 weeks apart because they was bad. This video helps knowing what’s going on with my car. Hi. I've got a 2003 Montero Limited 3.8L. Twice so far (1,000 miles apart) mine has gone into a condition where it will not accelerate. It idles and starts fine, but will not go over 40mph on level road, and takes a long time to get to that speed (severel minutes). It will be fine one moment and then begin this malfunction in the middle of driving it, in town or on interstate. I do have a TPS sensor code (P2135) but also cam and crankshaft sensors codes. The timing system is fine and it doesn't jerk or do anything strange except refuse to accelerate. I can turn it off and after 20 minutes it will operate fine again. Is the the TPS sensor getting hot and then it fails?

Push brake in…set park brake…key on key off….start car…put in drive for 10 minutes. Now the cars fuel trim is correct

Save money? I bought a 12volt new battery a new $200 throttle body, and am doing the throttle relearn procedure by the repair manual still idles high.

i would highly recommend NOT using brake clean. Air intake or throttle body cleaner would be safer
Please help me out. I have a rough idle when I load to Drive or Reverse. So I change the throttle body but still rough idle. How do I calibrate the new throttle?

Use VCDS/VAG-COM to reset it properly. Rough idle might also come from a dirty EGR valve or a dirty MAP/MAF sensor, or spark plugs and everything related to it, clean everything up and it should be fine.
Wouldn't disconnecting the battery automatically RESET the idle?
You would think so but I know for a fact it doesn't, at least on some vehicles.

Brake cleaner or Carburetor cleaner to clean the throttle body? Nope! They leave residue behind. I'll only use throttle body spray cleaner, or Mass Airflow sensor spray cleaner.

I replaced the throttle body, did the relearn procedure (2009 Envoy). Idle is now good, however, once I just touch the accelerator, the car RMP jumps up causing the car to lurch immediately. The RPM is jumping from 800 to 1200. Any idea? Again, just touching the accelerator with limited acceleration.

Hello 1A Auto from ON, Canada….what’s the process for 2019 Mazda CX-5 GS AWD 2.5L Non-Turbo? i have cleaned the throttle body with CRC Throttle Body Cleaner and when i placed it all back together the RPMs started jumping with the throttle plate acting like it’s got Parkinsons LOL ….one of the mechanics believes after checking with a code reader ipad it’s placing pressure on the Purge Valve….please help me figure this or should i drive on the highway for a while and that might reset the throttle body or have a re-learning process conducted? thank you…🚙🤙🏼😎

Sounds like the sensor was fried. I assume with a new TB you got a new sensor.

I replaced my throttle on a 2012 ford Taurus and the check engine light code p2104 reads on the dash. Vehicle also cuts off going 50+ mph causing me to pull over at reduced speeds in traffic unable to accelerate…Any solutions?
Most owner's manuals will tell you how to do this after the battery has been disconnected. Different cars do it different ways.
What if i dont disconnect the batt. And use a scan tool to clear a check engine code. Do i still have to do a throttle relearn??

Gm 3.9l v6 will start the car and it’ll drive then suddenly after coming to a stop randomly wether it be a 5 minute cruise or an hour long drive it’ll bounce into reduced engine power. Currently trying to re program throttle position sensor took it from my other car (3.5l) it fits perfectly. But I notice rpm’s are off slightly and I have afm which activates at about 1300 rpm’s on the highway but I’m revving at about 1650 so when it de activates into 6 cylinder it’s a little harsh. Any help relearning would be great

Has hour car thrown any check engine lights or has your ABS or stability light appeared? I would check the APP sensor and then the TPS sensor.
@@thechongsterful my 06 Altima had similar issue, except it threw me a p0507. Drove with it for a few days then when accelerating from red light the acceleration stopped for a second then I drove another 15 seconds and it happened again while driving , not from starting from a stop. It won’t turn on now. I had it cleaned as it was dirty af. It turns on but after you let it sit for an hour it won’t turn on. The service engine light doesn’t come on anymore. I haven’t done the relearn code yet.

Just learned that after replacing battery in Cadillac ATS that throttle body cycles and relearns itself turning it on in acc mode then shut off then turn on ect

I have a 2012 jeep liberty changed throttle body and throttle pedal senor light is still on.
This doesn't work on a 2006 Pontiac G6. Just buy a Foxwell NT510 Elite and you can reset it in 5 minutes without causing all the wear and tear putting a car in gear when it's idling too high trying to do the stupid relearn that doesn't work on some GM vehicles. A shop will charge you for a full hour of labor (about $150, the price of a scanner that corrects the throttle position sensor), unless you know somebody. You'll drive all around town looking for a decently priced bi-directuonal scanner. Just order online and plan on not driving your vehicle until it arrives. I wish I would've just done that instead of spending a whole day wasting time. Don't follow advice on cleaning your throttle body without having a professional scan tool to reset it.

I cleaned my throttle body and idle feels good except when i rev it in park the idle stays at about 25k rpms. When i shut off the engine and turn it back on it idles good, would i still need an idle relearn?

Why would you relearn the throttle body instead of buying a 6 dollar can of throttle body cleaner then it won't need to be relearned I could see maybe drastic temperature changes made a reason to re learn but if theirs carbon build up just clean the thing out its quit easy and simple and probly the proper way

I’ve bought a 2007 Chrysler Sebring and have problems with it missing and hesitates going uphill took it to a mechanic 😒 they replaced spark plugs 3 times, put new coil packs on and crank sensor and it didn’t fix it. They said they’re was a misfire on cylinder 2. The lighting bolt symbol comes on sometimes. I’m no mechanic but something is wrong if you replace spark plugs 3 times within a year 2 times within 3 weeks apart because they was bad. This video helps knowing what’s going on with my car. Spark plugs last 60k miles. It should only be replaced if its worn out you should ask them to show you the old ones. Try changing your fuel filter...

Hi. I've got a 2003 Montero Limited 3.8L. Twice so far (1,000 miles apart) mine has gone into a condition where it will not accelerate. It idles and starts fine, but will not go over 40mph on level road, and takes a long time to get to that speed (severel minutes). It will be fine one moment and then begin this malfunction in the middle of driving it, in town or on interstate. I do have a TPS sensor code (P2135) but also cam and crankshaft sensors codes. The timing system is fine and it doesn't jerk or do anything strange except refuse to accelerate. I can turn it off and after 20 minutes it will operate fine again. Is the the TPS sensor getting hot and then it fails?
