the gun uses gas so there will be a smell. when it needs a service it will smell more. The 2 nails, is probably the ware strip above the pin. when it wares away, the nails can move up higher and cause the pin the hit the nail below also.

Same issue with my Makita gn900se you have to plunge it 2 times before it will fire, will be trying this for sure!

Mine shot 2 nails at once and bent them and then shot one and bent it again and the nail gun smells like it’s burning anyone know why?
