Thanks Vince for the helpful lesson I just bought one used it is cf325 xp it is the top of the line for paslode. I drove over 114 miles in one direction to get this paslode to me worth it. It came with two batteries but the nails for this gun Wow I never knew could be so expensive but I have 3 inch and two inch I have nails now till in my 80's. My gun only has 600 nails fired from it and it works great. I love construction work and new toys make me feel young again. We all learn something new and that is why I am here to get different ideas. Thanks Pete

I have a hitachi gas cordless model similar to the pasload. I used the pasload cleaning products and it now works like a champ which btw uses the red pasload fuel cartridge. I’m again a happy framer.
I know the video is old but thank you so much for this. Just bought my first project fix gun n the owner gave it to me dirt cheap. It is begging for maintenance. the guy never cleaned it, covered in layers of gunk! This gives me an optimistic projection of saving it. Might as well buy another one to flip them.
Very much enjoyed your approach and it made me completely understand everything I need to know about maintaining this nailer. Thank you and I subscribed!
Hi Vince , I have two of these nailers and they are awesome. Excellent breakdown on the maintenance. All my tools are on the Dewalt platform and thinking of switching to the cordless 30 degree Dewalt just for cost savings alone . I can’t find any long term reviews on the Dewalt frame nailers . What are your thoughts?
I have both of the Dewalt cordless framers (21 and 30 degree). They are slow, heavy and the recoil is going to wear you out. The 4 amp hour battery that comes with them in the kit form is half the reason they get such terrible reviews for consistency. Recently on a larger (600 sq-ft) shed roof replacement/rebuild which was the first true real test for the dewalt units they both decided to run like trash. Half the nails would fail to drive fully. I decided to give the Paslode cordless framer a try as I was rapidly running out of time and good weather to get a roof rebuilt and dried in. After that first strip of nails I was sold, a serviced well running Paslode will smoke the dewalt cordless framers. The failure of the Dewalt units to run reliably I traced back to they just need more battery to let it rev up harder. Going to a minimum 5 amp hour battery made all the difference, but it makes an already heavy bulky tool even worse. The cost of the fuel cell is an ongoing expense that will only get worse in the future. However if time is money the Paslode is easily 50% faster and almost every nail was perfectly driven flush.
What would happen is I remove the spring off. Would still works? Some of the framers I know removes them on the pneumatic guns for faster and easier nailing.
10:00 If you just crack loose the screws at the base of the fan mount, it'll rock back enough to put the body on straight and avoid the fan contacting the casting.
I have a paslode exactly like the one you just cleaned. Great video by the way. My neighbor jammed the tool on a piece of wood way too hard. It never worked again. Well I may have tinkered with it an go 1 shot out of it. What are your thoughts?

Your video was great. Entertaining as well. But. I have a question. My 900420 has some what looks like rocks falling out the front of the gun. When I opened the combustion chamber it looks to be coming from muffler area. The bits appear to be plastic but not sure where it would have come from. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
I’ve tried to replace parts like follower spring (can’t get the button off!!)metal o rings (seem to be catching chamber when it’s firing ) any ideas how to do it right please
Yup, but you'll need to remove the nose Safety/depth adjustment piece. Just 2 more screws. Also, I loosen (just a little) the two screws holding the fuel cell actuator assembly. (aka fuel door) This loosens the handle up just a tad for better clearance getting the cylinder on and off without dinging a fan or pinching an O ring. Also it's not a bad idea to put a drop of oil on your actuator assembly bushing and pins. The bushing will deteriote over time. Very common on the older impulse nailers, but still applies on the CF325. The bushing is like 7 bucks. Or you can buy the whole actuator assembly for 12 bucks......which comes with a new bushing and pins. That's what I have done so I have back up parts. Once the rubber bushing starts to wear out, you'll have intermittent firing issues and shooting blanks, even though the rest of the tool is fine. It's a real PITA to diagnose unless you're aware of the issue. Once the bushing deteriorates past that, it will jam the assembly, and won't open. Had that happen on one of our older 900420 nailers. Now that you know about that issue, just stay on the maintenance...... And also clean up and check your spark plug when you service it, and also clean the trigger contact points. Both are failure prone (mainly when not maintained.) Enjoy the framer. I still love my paslodes. They may not bump fire, or cycle near the rate of pneumatic and Battery only like the Metabo and M18 Fuel...... But..... They're so light in comparison to the milwaukee fuel and Metabo nailers that they're much more enjoyable to use all day if needed.. Apples to oranges, I know. Just saying this......... I don't mind the little faults they have, because the benefits outweigh them by a long shot. Take care bud

With all due respect you couldn’t service this gun correctly if your life depended on it !! What’s the point cleaning the cylinder head without removing the o ring !! Do it properly or don’t bother !!
these things are a piece of s#&@ , i bought the 3.0 about five or six years ago to nail some 2x10 together for my raised beds, shot maybe 30 nails! put it up in my basement (which is climate controlled and now, it won't shoot a nail, it worked the day i bought it! now after 5-6 years sitting! it won't work! this was a 5or 6 hundred dollar mistake!!
No matter how “climate controlled” your basement is it’s still a basement below ground level and makes it cold. The fuel cell when cold struggles to release so just warn that up in your hands for 5 mins, and it will be fine. If you have left this in a basement for 5/6years then you clearly don’t need it these are complex machines that require regular use and service would you leave your car in a basement for 5/6years unused unmoved not even fired up and expect to take it for a spin one bored Sunday morning? I can assure you paslodes are not S*@£ speaking from experience on use of many many framing nailers, that is a bold statement to make and impossible to back win facts! So suck a fart you miserable tit
Sell the paslode and buy an hitachi 100% better product, My paslode batteries loose contact when using overhead,The charger cables are crap and always break, The 2nd fix guns are just as bad buy alternatives.

Sorry pal but I think your pissing down a lot of people's backs and telling them it's raining.. 🤨 why don't you actually get your hands on a nail gun with that problem " pushing down and not firing " . You took out 6 allen key bolts ,spray and wiped. Fair enough your calling that a service but I'm sorry vinny but that proccess ain't a problem fixer. Yanks ...what...! 🖐No one there to high five ye either ..😞
With all due respect you couldn’t service this gun correctly if your life depended on it !!
What’s the point cleaning the cylinder head without removing the o ring !! Do it properly or don’t bother !!
these things are a piece of s#&@ , i bought the 3.0 about five or
six years ago to nail some 2x10 together for my raised beds, shot maybe
30 nails! put it up in my basement (which is climate controlled and
now, it won't shoot a nail, it worked the day i bought it! now after 5-6
years sitting! it won't work! this was a 5or 6 hundred dollar mistake!!
