I'm so tired of hearing these Brandon cronies talk about oil being a global commodity. Yes, it is, but if we, the largest consumer of oil, were to be self sufficient, which we were, we could control the cost of oil, as we did under President Trump. If we are not buying foreign oil, prices would fall back to the $40 - $50 range!
That is BS. We were never energy independent. We have always imported oil. We were a net exporter of oil. That is much different than energy independence. Also, do you realize that no one was driving or flying during the pandemic and the price of oil tanked? That’s why it was so cheap under Trump.

That is why President Trump actually added millions of gallons of oil to the Strategic Oil Supply at a cost of less than $40. In 2016, daily consumption in the USA was about 18.6 million barrells a day. Donald Trump took office in 2017, and daily consumption in 2017 went up to about 18.9 million. 2018 and 2019 we were around 19.5 million a year. During President Trump's term, with a GREAT economy, and oil usage at an all time high, the highest oil price prior to the pandemic, was around $67, but, the average price was about $50. You can have your own opinion, but you can't change the facts.

Here’s the problem ..global commodity are priced in USDs and world currencies are pegged to dollar. So the source of the inflation from bad policy that accelerated money supply and by restricting oil supply that underpins the value of the dollar
