This was my favorite Eikon fight in the game. It felt incredibly epic and was really challenging on Final Fantasy mode. And this track by Soken was on another level of awesome. He is one of my new favorite composers next to Masashi Hamauzu.
Imagine how the Water Tribes from Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra would react to this level of Water-Bending. I’m telling y’all Yue would have definitely been a Dominant of Leviathan. 😜
If we mixed the world of FF16 and Avatar through World Building, by making the story of Clive Rosfield be a REMAKE of the story of Wan: The First Avatar, and if we fallow Clive’s own “Avatar Cycle” would make Roku a Dominant of Phenix, Aang a Dominant of ‘Male Garuda’ and Korra, a Dominant of ‘Female Ramuh.’ We could make Ifrit be like a Wild Card that only chooses a Dominant on Special Occasions, thus choosing Zuko as his Dominant. To increase the chances of helping Aang stop the 100 Year War. 😉

Another way you can “dodge” maelstrom safely (that I originally thought was the only way you could) is to charge up Brimstone to max and hold it until the attack finishes. I didn’t even think to jump tbh but if you did want another method this is one!
Maelstrom is honestly the worst part of Leviathan's moveset. Its not just a jump, you chain into wildfire, cancel that with a dodge to stop falling long enough for maelstrom to pass under you, then wildfire again to get distance from the orbs barrage and the follow up dive (best to go away from Leviathan at an angle so you have time between the orbs and the dive to dodge it all)
Well, it was mostly Leviathan going crazy because of him getting released from that time prison and Waljas is locked in a crib while Leviathan itself is driving the car
Even with the best gear possible _and_ max level, if you're not well accustomed to Ifrit, Leviathan can and _will_ kick your HP down with ANY attack. I have played FINAL FANTASY for years - played through all of VII and the Remake (still have yet to beat Rebirth), X and X-2 fully Platinumed, beat every XIII game, finished all of base XV and the DLCs (Episode Gladiolus is by far my favorite) and I've even beaten this game _five_ times whilst earning the Medals of Valor for bragging rights. I don't think there's been a single boss more frustrating than Yunalesca than Leviathan, and that is the truest possible statement that I can give you.

Do you have a strategy that I can try out to beat the Leviathan boss fight too? I've kind of been stuck on the fight for a long time now and I get as far as the third phase where you have to deal as much damage as quickly as possible. Should I use the Spitflare move first as soon as the battle starts or charge up the Brimstone move and hit Leviathan's barrier with charged fire ball shots as I go up to him? Just curious. Please let me know what the best strategy is for the Leviathan boss fight. Thanks!
Yea this is my favorite fight in the game and it’s not even close bro has the craziest attacks the hardest phase for me at least but that’s probably because I played on FF mode under leveled and he’s got one of the best themes

Hey just finished the DLC and all the quests, about to start Kairos. Any idea where you find Flawless Meterorite in this DLC? I got one from a quest and checked all my vendors everywhere (sold out), but im missing one more to max out my Minwu gear. Just want to go into Kairos Gate with the best I can get atm. My guess is I missed a chest somewhere? Did you come across any?
@@deansnipah1392 I eventually figured this out. The problem was I wasn't holding dash. It has been so long since I played the game, I was relearning the ifrit controls on the fly and remembered you could dash but not that you could prolong it by holding the button

Story and Action Mode are LV 50 at the max - Final Fantasy Mode is LV 110. Assuming you have the best gear possible, Leviathan is one tough Dominant to beat, especially on his second phase.
You have to go through BOTH stages of defeating Leviathan - one while inside the giant typhoon he's created, while the second is on the open sea - ALL without taking a LICK of damage. If you even get nicked once by his water bullets or Riptide, it's a forfeit attempt.

Correct. Both Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide are preliminaries to departing for Origin. However, unlike Echoes of the Fallen, you are completely by yourself when going to face Leviathan after defeating the Timekeeper at the Aire of Hours. Joshua and Jill have gone to Mysidia to defend the village along with Shula - the same goes with Torgal. So my personal advice is check your gear and pray you have Ifrit mastered, otherwise Leviathan is going to give you a SERIOUSLY rough time.
What crazy and scary is it's just a baby throwing a tantrum now imagine the baby was in his adult version and how much more powerful leviathan would be also if there are any future dlc after this they need to make a mechanic where ifirit can limit break into ifirit risen or somylike thay

I wouldn't say Leviathan absorbed the Mothercrystal from Drake's Eye. Even though the Surge had endured for eighty years, Drake's Eye was destroyed long before the Dominant came into being. And as Clive explained after absorbing a part of Leviathan, the Eikon endures even if he claims its power. And the only thing that was keeping him in check was the Vare at the Aire of Hours. The Surge was basically created due to his temper tantrum after finding out Waljas was a Dominant, hence why the late Dominant of Shiva prior to Jill trapped him in a timebound prison. In summary, facing a machine-like Eikon like Omega which was built to overthrow Ultima is less of a feat than facing off against an Eikon who was frozen in time for nearly a century.
FF16 was my favorite FF along with FF4. The story,characters, and themes discussed were amazing. The music was beautiful. The action and visuals outstanding. The gameplay in some respects could have had more, but overall the game was great. It's such a shame sales couldn't have done better.

He had no Timely Rings on. You can tell if they're active by the appropriate Symbol glowing. Pure manual inputs at its peak - this shit is what I strive to do.
I think that it's must be the cause and situation (Garuda was strangled in a forest fire so Benedikta would succumbed to the flame while Titan was koed so ever Kupka was ever fell to his doom or crushed as Lost Titan was falling apart)
@@anwenlokier2292Garuda basically got Hellfired into oblivion by an out of control Ifrit, Titan Lost was destroyed by a controlled Ifrit, then Titan slain by its own element. Bahamut was slain by a union of Ifrit and the Phoenix, and Odin was killed without an Eikon. Regardless, 4 out of the 8 Eikons were killed by Clive, and Leviathan was the only one tamed because he didn't want to overdo it (reason I say 4 is because Cid died from Typhon, who gave his power to Clive, Jill did the same but is still alive and he had the Blessing of the Phoenix on top of it). The Dominant was still a baby with a future ahead of him, so he put as much effort as needed.
Hell no. He's relatively small compared to his FF XV counterpart. Then again, Ifrit makes the average human look like a freaking ant. Imagine if Waljas was older - he'd be comparable to the size of Bahamut.
Long story short, Clive and his friends went to a time-frozen temple to undo a spell that Waljas (a baby who got frozen in time for almost a century) was part of. Once the Vare was broken, Leviathan went berserk and caused a massive typhoon. Clive took it upon himself to tame Leviathan and calm Waljas down.

You have to dash while angling out and away. If you just dash to the left or right, you will get caught

The reason they made Leviathan Hard is because Ifrit is fire Leviathan is water he's Ifrit's natural enemy

I think that it's must be the cause and situation (Garuda was strangled in a forest fire so Benedikta would succumbed to the flame while Titan was koed so ever Kupka was ever fell to his doom or crushed as Lost Titan was falling apart)
@@anwenlokier2292Garuda basically got Hellfired into oblivion by an out of control Ifrit, Titan Lost was destroyed by a controlled Ifrit, then Titan slain by its own element. Bahamut was slain by a union of Ifrit and the Phoenix, and Odin was killed without an Eikon. Regardless, 4 out of the 8 Eikons were killed by Clive, and Leviathan was the only one tamed because he didn't want to overdo it (reason I say 4 is because Cid died from Typhon, who gave his power to Clive, Jill did the same but is still alive and he had the Blessing of the Phoenix on top of it). The Dominant was still a baby with a future ahead of him, so he put as much effort as needed.

Long story short, Clive and his friends went to a time-frozen temple to undo a spell that Waljas (a baby who got frozen in time for almost a century) was part of. Once the Vare was broken, Leviathan went berserk and caused a massive typhoon. Clive took it upon himself to tame Leviathan and calm Waljas down.
Legit if clive wasn't the main character i'd totally play as this friggen hydrogen bomb baby.
