If I haven't made it clear every time I do a comparison video like this is that PR Operation Overdrive originally aired in 4:3 and Boukenger aired in 16:9. Boukenger is the first Sentai Series to air in 16:9 quality and it would take PR almost 4 years to get to HD quality. So thats why PR Operation Overdrive looks so weird in 4:3.
OK technically Boukenger's first Henshin was in Task 1 but they didn't Henshin as a team and didn't do the iconic Roll Call in Task 2, so I guess you could call this the first appearance in Boukenger as first appearance as a team. This comparison video is a bit shorter than I would have liked and I didn't want to make it longer because in PR Operation Overdrive episode used a lot of story not related to Boukenger so the comparison video would have been maybe 10 or 12 more minutes longer with all of the unnecessary comparing I would have made. I also know how many feel about PR Operation Overdrive but yeah this comparison was necessary since I haven't done much with Overdrive or Boukenger. Enjoy!

What is Kalishplosions?
"Kalishplosions" is a PR fan term used to identify PR producer Bruce Kalish who was partially responsible for the repetitive use of gasoline explosions and slow motion close up shots for all Disney PR seasons. This was used when ever a Ranger got shot by an enemy laser or the Rangers shoot at the enemy with a laser it would go to the background and we see a huge explosion.
Boukenger has got to be my favorite Sentai so far, and one of the few times I think the Sentai counterpart WAY outstrips what we got.
To be fair, Operation Overdrive wasn't the only show that still use 4:3 aspect ratio in the late 2000s. There are other shows that still use it too, like I remember watching Transformers Animated, Winx Club, Spectacular Spider-man, Huntik Secrets And Seekers they all use 4:3 aspect ratio. If you live anywhere outside of Japan in the late 2000s, there are people that still use TVs with 4:3 aspect ratio.
Transformers Animated actually exists in 16:9, maybe at the times on some channel around the world, they aired a cropped version.
Winx Club, in Italy(the country behind the show) was aired in 2004.
Spectacular Spiderman was 16:9 and I remember perfectly, It was aired like that in my country
I think Will should have had the super speed ability since Masumi is the Fast Adventurer with the fastest Zord and have him be a Nascar driver. Ronny should have had the super strength ability since Natsuki is the Strong Adventurer with the strongest Zord and have her be a weight lifter. As for Mack, give him the ability to summon a lance weapon similiar to his Drive Lance, going from a rookie to a reliable leader.

ricky dona Toqger hasn't been adapted into Power Rangers, just yet. I mean, we're only three years away from 2021 and we still need to wait for Nickelodeon to end its' stupid-ass five-month hiatus to give us the remaining 12 episodes of Super Ninja Steel.
Toqger is likely won't be adapted into a PR series because the toy market for that series is unattractive in the US market. So they (Hasbro) likely will go to Kyuranger maybe in the future. What also helps is that Hasbro has a better working relationship with the Japanese market (FYI Transformers).

Operation Overdrive wasn't the best season to be honest, but I kinda like their Japanese counterpart Boukenger. Can you do Big Bad Beetleborgs / Juukou B-Fighter first appearance of Shadowborg/Black Beet? That would be great.

I did see that Jetman will be released which is great. Probably will be experimental then moving forward we'll see if ShoutFactory is willing to do more classic Sentais like JAQK, Denjiman or Goranger in the future.

Yes!!! That's one of the reasons why I enjoyed the season. It only used Sentai footage when it was necessary.
I think it was a Disney thing. All the seasons produced by them had a lot of original footage...

They had a lot of budget to spare, due to the fact that the fight footage was already done for them by the sentai version

I love the Operation Overdrive morphing sequence. It's definitely one of my favorites in the Power Rangers franchise.
Well no wonder flurios didn't fit in, the original villains weren't even ice and fire themed , which makes him stick out like a shore thumb (not to mention he looks more like a rock elemental anyways)

Man the inability for Power Rangers to go to HD really shows. The amount of detail lost in the photography is night and day, Boukenger looks so crisp in comparison.

The first half of this sequence, where the rangers are "Rangering Up" or whatever, both are alright; if anything, I like the Rangers version a little more... taste, I suppose...
But the fight, Boukenger wins without question; Overdrive's fight is just disjointed and haphazardly edited... censorship really hit Overdrive hard...
Apparently it was also because of aspect ratio but in that case, they’d have to do Zord battles from the ground up.

I agree with a comment on a video that they should adjust the American footage from 4:3 to 16:9 and let the super sentai footage with it's original aspect ratio (16:9)
If you watch PR OO from the 20th Anniversary PR DVD set they still set the series in 4:3 aspect ratio. I think they didn't change it because it was how it was originally aired.

Okay, I am sorry. But, how is it that Operation Overdrive had the worst fight choreography and horrible pacing than any other Power Rangers season that has cone before and after it?! I mean, Power Rangers Beast Morphers have better fight choroeography and we just had the first episode come out last week.
Well, go email or find a way to contact the writers and fight choreographers and ask them so that you can stop being upset on every single video that's O.O related. When will you become tired of repeating yourself? This season is 12 years old and nothing is going to fix it, it's done, gone, over, adios. Spend your time going to videos of seasons you actually like or love, not hate.

Apparently, Disney was extremely lazy with this season, despite its popularity they wanted the series to fail (mostly because an exec really hated the show) they essentially gave the overdrive team a mideocre budget that would make seban blush and basically told the team "just dub the sentai" which is why everything apart from sentai footage looks not so good

Operation Overdrive had the worst fight choreography and even dino fury was better than it and we got the dino fury episode only a year ago. It's a 15 year old show that is the worst and he is simply giving his own opinion. We all know that Operation Overdrive was not a good season and I think it's time someone told you that you gotta respect his opinion. Even all the PR series except for Operation Overdrive had better fight choreography and we had them coming before and after the show.
Overdrive did not have bad fight choreography by Power Rangers standards. The only thing that was really bad was the overuse of explosions.

Overdrive was kinda cringey and weird to have that weird emphasis on the female ranger grunts during the transformation, sorry but it was always silly and yes, off putting, and they continue it in the later shows.

I think you may want to check out Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, In Space, Time Force and RPM and see why people would perfer those five seasons over Operation Overdrive. Along with the first 20 episodes of Dino Charge. Now, I will say this. Compared to Super Megaforce....Operation Overdrive is like a fucking masterpiece and Super Megaforce made Mystic Force look like it just won a God-damn emmy in comparison.

It's a comparison. There are series that adapt everything to a T. There are series that create their own stories. PROO is one of the latter.

Case in point, Power Rangers RPM. there was *BARELY* any sentai footage being used in that season, except for the megazord battles. Not to mention that there were hardly any plot elements from Go-Onger that wouldn't fit the whole "post-apocalyptic parallel universe" tone of the season. Then you have Power Rangers Dino Charge and Dino Super Charge....I mean, yeah. Those two were adaptating plot elements from Kyoryuger. But, seriously....have you *SEEN* Kyoryuger, lately?! The only noteable difference between Kyoryuger and Dino Charge/Dino Super Charge is the tone, and obviously, the characters. And their respective finales. No, really, Dino Super Charge had the worst season finale you will ever seen. Like seriously, it involved time-traveling and the prevention of the dinosaurs from going extinct and wiping out the entire history of Power Rangers from existence. Crazy, ain't it?!

The only power ranger seasons I despised was Operation Overdrive and Turbo. Turbo nearly got the entire franchise cancelled and Operation overdrive had a bunch of annoying constant Kalishplosions. But Boukenger had its flaws by adding a yellow ranger who is naive throughtout the show? But in Operation Overdrive they had a competitive yellow ranger and "Original is better" certainly does not apply to power rangers vocabulary.
