I respect how Sentai talks about bullets and killing instead of using soft terms like lasers or destroy.
Lol they even changed the execution to capturing, which was pretty baffling considering the time where Sky got body swapped it didn’t make sense like at all
SPD is one of my favorite seasons but my main criticism is how they treated Omega Ranger vs how Dekaranger treated Deka Break.
I'm the same here. SPD was a great season, but I was disappointed with the Omega Ranger. He maybe the worst character, but a ball of light? His Sentai counterpart, Tekkan Aira/Deka Break, actually does have a transformation sequence.

It's so weird that SPD improved Doggie over it's Dekaranger counterpart, but then you get this. A little ball of light for Sam? It was for this reason alone I was dreading the episode when Tetsu was coming when I first watched Dekaranger. Then Tetsu actually came and I learned he was a actual person and not a ball of light and enjoyed his character.
Apparently, they didn't have the budget to get an actor to play Sam, hence the ball of light. Which I find ironic because they were able to get the budget to make Doggie look like an actual alien and not some derpface Sesame Street rip-off.
I didn't mind Doggie's original look that much but the ball of like for Omega Ranger was terrible. I'd rather they'd keep the muppet Doggie and save the budget to get a actual ranger. I can't take a ball of light seriously as a character.
Gaming With Balance Krugger in the japonese version looks more like a dog, in the american version looks like a drugged crocodile.

After watching dekaranger you begin to realize that whole time travel and ball of light don't make sense. Considering this series is focused crime fighting, not time travel like timeranger.
Clips like these make me realize how much color correction is done between PR and Sentai. I tried watching Sentai for years with **something** feeling off, but not being able to put my finger on it. Hopefully this helps validate anyone else's confusion.

That's because Sam looks up to the B-Squad as if they're his inspiration for being a Power Ranger in the near-future. Not like how Tetsu have treated Ban and the others in his debut. I mean, I get that he's a higher-ranking police officer and all, but that doesn't give the right to be an asshole to everybody.

Luke Brown Actually, Dragonball Z was never meant to be "dumb down for little kids". It's just that back in the 90's, when Saban was doing the English dub, I'm guessing that every other TV executive back in the 90's all assumed that *ALL ANIME SHOWS WERE STRICTLY FOR KIDS!!!* But, it wasn't until the early 2000's to today with all the DVD releases of uncut versions of anime, it became clear to everyone that not all anime shows are strictly for kids. So yeah...Anime has come a long way of being recognized as being something that's more than just foreign animated shows with bright colors, and so-on.
Power Rangers and Super Sentai?!.....that's a different story. I mean, really different when you look back at certain seasons of Power Rangers that were only appealing to older audience members from ages 12-up. Namely, In Space-Wild Force, RPM and to an extant....Dino Charge/Dino Supercharge.

I LOVED Power Rangers SPD; one of my favorites of the Disney season for story and characters, plus it just looks nice aesthetically. However, Sam was the biggest problem of the series because they completley screwed over this character
Disney not wanting to pay for another actor was a very terrible descision, but the writers not writing around this issue and constantly pushing him into the background was also a bad descision; why not make him a robot ranger, a repainted monster suit, or better yet, make one of the other characters secretly this Ranger? Sure, these may be unweildy descisions, but... at least it would make use of this character; pushing him out of the series would just be a detriment to the viewers
I don't know; the fact that SPD Omega was treated this way bothered me... if it wasn't for the treatment of this character, Power Rangers SPD would be my second favorite Disney season (behind RPM)
It could have been a twist if it was another prexisting character. Like imagine if it turned out to be Boom and that daydream of being an Orange Ranger could have foreshadowed his identity as the Omega Ranger. Probably a stupid idea saying it out loud but you get the idea. It could have been like how they used the Gold Zeo Ranger where they didn’t know who it was and were trying to figure it out.

Phantom Ranger never really showed himself outside of suit, yet there was a story and something going on with him that would be (in theory) interesting... not so much with Sam...
Or maybe, pass the ranger morpher to Sam in the past, that way sam is already omega ranger, and another kid ranger as well after justin, just do the thing where his body grows to match the suit actor
@@patrickzalatoris3206 A child actor would have even more problems, not only because of child labour laws meaning the hours the kid could act would need to be worked around by the whole cast, crew and writing team but they also need to find a good child actor and the series already has tons of bad ones

Ok I think I am liking the logic in DekaRanger way more now at least for DekaBreak. To deal with the most dangerous menace which in this case "The Siblings of Hell" (ok, I actually wished Seijin would be sticking around as a recurring antagonist), SPD sent in backup from another planet in the form of DekaBreak aka Tetsu. At first the whole thing in SPD getting help from the future was cool. But I lost taste in time travel and extraterrestrial rangers have a better feel to SPD than a force from the future. To put it simply, it shows that the commanding officers of SPD DOES have a chain of command type of system and very coordinated in terms of having responders ready to deal with higher level threats such as the Siblings of Hell in this case and the Tokokyu in this case is a branch of officers who had better training and experience for this type of thing. Basically instead of Power Rangers having someone from the future, we got an offworlder sent in as a countermeasure for when the threat becomes too dangerous for the different planet branches to handle on their own.

You see, it's funny because the Delta Runner Megazord dies at the end of SPD.
SPD is probably in my top 3 favourite Toku all together (including Kamen Rider, PR and Super Sentai) but I do agree with the others, while I do love the Omega Ranger I think the way he's handled had much to be desired.
I would like to compliment the make up and effects department on SPD tho, Disney did a fantastic job with not only the new head and body of Doggy but also the makeup for Kat, the sets in the SPD head quaters, the OST of the season and the pyrotechnics in the blasts (easiest to tell at 16:15 where you can actually see the actors being blown back by the explosion, makes the action feel more real).
I think the production is overall cleaner because of it in a lot of the Disney PRs but that doesn't make them automatically better even if I personally have a bias for SPD

One wonders what SDP would have done with Omega Ranger if the budget allowed for an actor to play him. I'm guessing they would have probably done a similar route with him being from the present. His future tech feels a lot less special when Kat builds powers ups for the team that are better, and a Megazord that is leagues better than his.
It would mean changing up that two parter completely and removing Sam from the series. But then it would add flavor since Omega Ranger is a lack of a better term, an alien from a higher branch of SPD stationed from another world. Wonder how the team would deal with that. However this would also mean changing the backstory to how the main team got their genetic powers to begin with.

Es especialmente decepcionante dado que la apertura del programa lo muestra corriendo junto a los cinco guardabosques principales como si fuera una nueva incorporación a este grupo de camaradas, pero apenas habla con ellos durante el transcurso del programa.

@@ondururagittandeska2004 technically it is a kids show, made to sell toys on Bandai’s behalf, but to be honest, as a kids I watch shows for action, growing into teens I watch them for plots, and the same can be applied to most Super Sentai/Kamen Rider shows
Both are technically for children, about the same demographic (I think Sentai skews younger, or at least it does now), it's just different broadcasting standards and cultural differences
Eh 50/50 is true that Japan has like a little less restriction on violence on shows , but ss has become too kid friendly, which is affecting Pr in the long run since kids prefer to whatch other shows that pr.

Well, that's Disney didn't like the amount of violence that Power Rangers was displaying back then. They were embarrassed to have the franchise affiliated with the company's brand name, back then. And they actually thought that characters were swearing back then. I mean, really?! Do you expect me to believe that Power Rangers were swearing at the time?! I don't think so, I never actually heard characters in Power Rangers swear at all. Now, in the upcoming movie reboot, next year....that's a different story.

Quick note, the fact that Morgana outlived Seijin pisses me off. I actually would prefer Seijin to be a recurring antagonist in the series with not as much screen time as Morgana of course but as Jasmine's archnemesis via torment during the series because of the former's introduction.

Here's something that irks me about SPD: the villains act like the B-Squad (and Doggie) are the ONLY rangers, even though the A-Squad are in cahoots with them.

SPD stands for Special Police Dekaranger in original Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger.
In the American adaption series, it is called Space Patrol Delta.
And there is the other standing for Special Police Delta in the Korean dubbed version, last but not least.

The Japanese version is lot more dramatic.
The red sentai warrior sure is hot headed.

super sentai: more flair and action, and is the source of basically 90% of the footage for Power rangers
power rangers: more spice, certain parts are cut short, some scenes are reshot or redone, and some scenes have a bit of extra editing
and there is a "dub vs sub" issue going on where they say completely different things

I think a lot of fans are thinking the same thing. I may not be an expert but when you move so fast time feels like it slows down make more sense than than what Disney was trying to do.

I know people usually say that the sentai version is more serious, but all i'm seeing is the complete opposite. The extravagance of the sentai team's uniforms, the cheap quality of doggy's japanese counterpart. I'm actually seeing more campiness in the sentai version.

What final episode split-screen?! It's just SPD adapting Dekaranger's final battle with Agent Abrera into a "Part one" finale. Only difference is that in the Power Rangers version, Broodwing is sealed away in a containment card. But Agent Abrera is immediately killed off.

Depends on what you mean campiness. Sentai is campy, but campy =/= bad. PR though is nth times more campy leading to being bad. Of course you're comparing SPD to Dekaranger which the disney era did a fine job adapting...Neo Saban, however. Do a watch of Gokaiger then do Super Megaforce.

Well, knowing that japanese has preference and praise to skilled people of higher ranks, they tend to let them grow as arrogant pricks so long they prove useful to their society and serve as example of an ideal person
