- Happy New Year Minitruckers, in this episode we redo a repair someone attempted on a honda acty ha4. I have seen the lack of gasket maker on the cam humps too many times. Do it right or don't do it.

After watching these videos I am so looking forward to getting my Acty Attack!
Always torque your Honda valve cover bolts to spec, learned that one the hard way.
What happened, did you break a bolt?
@@USMiniTrucks yeah, snapped a bolt on a D16 valve cover. I think they're essentially the same bolts as these. Luckily I didn't strip the head and I just had to figure out how to back the broken bolt out
If you want anything done properly do it yourself, nobody will take as much care as you will with your Mini truck Baby!
Thanks for sharing 🙏🏼
thanks for the vids
I just changed out the valve cover gaskets this month bc the middle spark plug gasket was leaking oil from it.
I didn't add gasket maker and no leaks.
Looks like the Honda V-6 is just TWO Kei I-3 Engines put together!
Sir l have honda acty 2016 how 2 timing I don't how do
My V-HH3 seemed to be acting weird for a while. Seems like it was loosing power in 4th / 5th gear.. The other day I went to take it out and couldn't get it above 3K rpm. Starts and idles fine, but wants to die above 3K. If I let off the gas it will keep running. Replaced the fuel pump, no change. Pulled spark plugs, they're black, but not gummy. Pulled the carburator and the jets all looked good. Cleaned them with carb cleaner and ultrasonic anyway. The two diaphragms also looked good. Haven't tested the solenoids yet. Any thoughts?
Hard to say. There is a vaccuum line going to distributor make sure it is not collapsed. You may need to adjust the float level inside the carb bowl.
@@USMiniTrucks Just got done testing the solenoids. Looks like the air vent solenoid is bad. Hopefully that's the only issue. Gonna grab a new one from your store. Thanks man
Matt,...is it possible to put a diff lock in an acty ?.. Attacks are hard to find and more money..
Who is Matt?
Ive been having trouble with mine starting and when it finally does it runs then runs rough and dies quick even with giving it some gas. I pulled the spark wires and they were covered in oil, so ya think that’s my problem ?
Ya, the oil can short the spark plugs. Need new psark plug tube seals and prob new plugs.
I’m having a bit of a persistent dieseling problem with my ‘97 acty. Anyone else ever experienced this and fixed it?
Check the spark plugs for carbon build up and check that your fuel cut solenoid is working properly.
I need a valve cover gasket, do you have them back in stock?
Yes. We have them, if it says out of stock, order anyway, as we have them. A bit behind on keeping up with store inventory on the website.
WHat's the torque spec for the valve cover bolts? I have the shop manual for my 94 Acty, but it doesn't say. Probably a bad translation from Japanese?
It's not very tight. I would use 6-7ft/lbs. Dont break them, just use a small wrench and hand tight.
@@USMiniTrucks Thank you so much! Keep up the great mini truck content!
I have a 92 acty that is messing up on me. Ill be driving it like normal and around the 15 to 25 minute mark it will just shut completely down and die. No sputter or anything before it dies. Then you can wait around 30 minutes or so and itll start right back up again but then it will do the same thing again after a few minutes of driving. Any ideas on what it could be?
There's a computer under the dash that controls the fuel and air vent solenoids. Sounds like your computer is failing, causing the fuel cut solenoid to fail. You can test it with a voltmeter on the signal coming from the truck.
Did you do a video on that? I seems like I remember you doing one.
@@USMiniTrucks thank you! I appreciate it. Keep the videos coming!
@@kevinkennedy2968 I did do a video, but don't see it on youtube anymore. It may have had copyright material. I will try to do another computer video.
@@USMiniTrucks awesome! I will definitely be keeping an eye out for it. Thanks again for the fast reply.
