The underdog has the inferiority complex, he wins and to his amazement and joy he sees who he has beaten. a GM with a chequered past who "knows" he is better than his opponent and then the underdog says to the beaten GM that there is no shame in losing to him since he has beaten other GMs in the past. The superiority complex then begins to insulate himself from the defeat by checking where he went wrong and suggesting that this result would have been other, if.....

for sure that is just so fake, like what kind of mental training is that ? you have to try to play your best chess regardless of the opponent, that is what happens in classical game, so I don t get why levy does it, just to win more games in blitz is nonsense in my opinion

@@lirich0 Not really true considering his most recent OTB performance was very strong and he beat 2 grandmasters, also these wins help build confidence to make it where he will have less nerves in the future.

What makes this even better is the music that Levy was listening to during this match, it was the most chilled-out, Zen, ambient music imaginable lmao, like the soundtrack to the inside of a big fluffy cloud. He's in a state of total relaxation and focus while Hans is a wretched ball of anxiety and rage.

In terms of effort put into chess, sure but ratingwise Hans is closer to Magnus.
It's just each rating point after 2700 is extremely difficult.
Like Magnus is 1 of 1, Hans is 1 of 500, Levy is 1 of 10,000 or something, so you can say Magnus is 500x more special than Hans, but Hans is only around 20x more special than Levy
