For anyone who is wondering, that big horn with the box, is not the horn. It's just an inactive Federal Sign & Signal Thunderbolt 1000/1000T. The horns are next to it.
There are 2 horns. 1 is a Leslie Typhon, the other is a Diaphone. I used to help maintain their 100 mil system. The horns are on the new Station set to go back in service.
@@zacharylynch2469 That is interesting. Yeah, I saw a facebook post from Onset FD stating that they are bringing the horns back after years of them being out of service. It is really cool to hear that as the town I grew up in had gamewell fire horns that are now deactive sadly. I heard those horns all the time for like every call. sad to see that others wont get the same experience I did with them in that town lol
I will take the diaphone over any siren, very distinct device and for those of us who still use municipal Fire Alarm, much easier to sound the box number than with a siren.
those horns are pretty nice a station in the Reading Pa once had one and i swear you can hear it for miles!

still used to this day? i hear it every first Thursday of the month!
Oh damn I immediately recognized this station from the one time I've ever been in Onset 🤣
At the beginning if you look very closely at the horns you can see the air coming out of it
my current town doesn't use their horn .the town I grew up in though it was a regular thing every call and every day at noon, except Sunday
dennis FD just got back from a false alarm i think - i saw them going and a minuit or 3 they were driving back.
I grew up in this station
USE THE FREAKING THUNDERBOLT!!!!
WOW we used to hustle
Is there a contest on slow response time? This station would win.
Yes lets go balls to the wall for a false alarm
Also, are those horns Cunningham? No way that they are diaphones. Probobly some truck horn or fog horn.
That up top is a warning siren.
@@Gvacs I'm not talking about the siren I'm talking about the *horns.*

Don't use a diaphone crank up the thunderbolt!

I saw a thunderbolt siren on top of the station
Pretty slow response.... The faster you get out the door, the sooner there will be water on the fire..
Yea that was kinda pathetic.
Is it a full time fire station, or volunteer?

It's a nice day. Why not park rigs on ramp? If the 2nd piece waits long enough it won't have to go.
I like the emergency light on fire chief vehicle from sebastian in Vermont
no Tbolt action?
Erik Anderson it’s inactive
@@doverpoint1 Why??
@@nmfd72 It used to be a Civill Defense Siren
Rootie-toot-toot!
What is the thunderbolt used for
Michael Zupet It’s an old CD siren
awesome klaxon
No rush here.
I've seen people in wheelchairs move faster!
Hey 2nd piece! You go any slower you'll be in reverse.
Slow enough for a response
