Nice video, And Chicago looking pretty sharp with the pierce trucks, that’s who they should stay buying from, both pierce and e one as the majority apparatus manufacturers, yes a few new Seagraves and spartan apparatus are always great to see or would be great to see in the CFD as well., 🙌🏼👍👌🏽🔥🚨🚒
Nice catch. There's been a lot of 🔥 like crazy in my area. Houses on fire business on fire Chinese restaurant on fire seafood restaurant on fire behind station 35.
Why are the first engine crew on scene not wearing SCBA's when entering the garage which is on fire? What would happen if they were to collapse from smoke and other toxic material inhalation? They just walked into the garage with no concern for their safety and health. I noticed that none of the crew of the first truck company on scene were wearing SCBA's. These firefighters are putting their lives in danger and health at risk.
It's an alley garage it's not a lot of smoking it's not like you're really going in much you're just standing there putting some water on it we don't really wear SCBAs unless we have to
Lets start: Full PPE?? No SCBA what the heck was that didnt the learn anything in the academy and why did it took years for the ladder company to arrive?! Sry but my volunteer department is faster
I‘m a German Firefighter 99% of our departments are volunteers we have to be on scene within 8-10 min after the call we are all well trained sometimes i think better than some American departments
Well if you had watched the video at all, you'd see that they were initially dispatched to a garbage can fire. Maybe your volunteer fire dept sends trucks to garbage can fires, but Chicago doesn't. Then when 125 arrived on scene, they realized it was a garage fire (let's use our listening skills), hence the upgraded alarm to the still (2 engines and 2 trucks). And no, Chicago often does not wear SCBA for these types of attacks.
0:12 go! Idk why but that was such a cool part
100%

Awesome video 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
thx!!!
Ok just a random question do they always said 2 engines and 2 trucks to a garage fire
For fires yes
They would normally send a squad unit to garage fires if it’s a still alarm

Nice catch one of my favorites
Liked and shared 🧑🏻👍🏻🚒
Nice video
felt like this was upgraded from rubbish to a garage fire
Yeah cause it wasn't a rubbish it was an alley garage
Why bother with extra companies Engine/Truck is making a knock down
Normal response to the report of a fire in Chicago is 2 engines and 2 trucks, plus a battalion chief.
Awesome catch
Nice footage! Kinda missed a few of the fire tho
Aways a next time

Agreed I was wondering the same thing when we where on scene that day

53 is using truck 20 old one as a spare
Didn't realize that CFD had Pierce apparatus as 53 appears to be.

Trust me wish chicago fire department is fast just like yours
