Would love to see a seafaring DM screen. With random encounters, weather tables, and handouts for ship-to-ship or ship-to-monster combat.

I think the only other "kit" I would want is a planar kit, could be good for higher level play.

The Wilderness Kit was pretty good. I was happy with it, it's solid. I LOVE the Dungeon Kit. I think, if you just get one(official) DM screen, this one is the most unilaterally useful. The rest of the Kit is also pretty handy, I'm very happy with the geomorph cards.
I would also love an Urban Kit. A DM screen with the Adventuring Gear Table would be real nice when players are looking to spend a day shopping.

I wish we would get a more premium screen that is setting agnostic but on printed metal (ie Displate) or a first party wood screen that has places to clip relevant information.

I just bought this one today for my first "official" DM screen (I've been using the flimsy one from the Essentials Kit) and I'm very happy with this one so far. Lots of good useful info and tables on the screen, and the little dungeon cards are a great idea. Oh, so you want to completely ignore everything I prepared for today's session and go explore a random cave? Ok then... *shuffles cards*

In regards to area kits, I would like to see one for all land environments.

What is the size of the grid on the dry erase sheet? Also, I would definitely like to see a DM Screen Settlement Kit. Personally, I do fine creating dungeon layouts with encounters and wilderness encounters, but I struggle making any time the party wants to be in a populated area.

I would like to see a DM where the conditions didn't take up so much screen real estate. I am going to eventually make my own DM screen whenever it comes to the next campaign.

Thank you for showing this. I saw it in the store, but the box didn't answer my biggest question when buying a new DM screen about what information is on the inside. This one looks pretty useful.

How many times do you need the conditions listings? I would rather they assume we have the reincarnated screen and then devote the space taken up with conditions on both the wilderness and dungeon screens with other information pertinent to those particular environments. But hey that's just me with a toothache feeling crabby.

I think part of the problem is how bulky the explanation is, and I think that has a lot to do with how many of the conditions say almost (but not quite) the same thing. Like half of them are basically just different ways of giving one person (dis)advantage on attacks against another person. I feel like this information could be presented pretty well with a chart of types, with columns for attacks against other creatures, attacks against the afflicted creature, checks made by the creature, one or two others like movement speed, and a small box for specific text. In the correct cell/box for each condition, you could put an "A" for "Advantage" or a "D" for "Disadvantage", and maybe an "X" to say they can't do that.
Honestly, I'd really like to see them streamline the conditions system with the revamp of 5e. 5e is supposed to be the edition that's streamlined and easier to learn, and a bunch if different confusing conditions doesn't really fit that, to my eyes.

To the usefulness of the dry erase sheet I personally bought one of those “boogie boards” which are an LCD screen you can write on and instantly erase. I use that for map sketching if it’s a large area with many choices and used to use it for multiple enemy HP tracking (before the DDB combat tracker that is). So I would say this one in this kit could be useful like that but it would be up to the person.

I originally wasn’t interested in that product cause I wasn’t sure if the GM Screen was the thin cardboard paper again or an actual thick cardboard. Now that I know it is thick cardboard, I’m probably gonna get it.

Outside of maybe an astral sea for spelljammer, I think the only other one place that needs expansion in general is sea and river then you get to set up the screens for individual play spaces and I can see that being super useful for setting mood!

How about a sea fairing kit. I know there are resources in various D&D books but it would be nice to have it all in one kit.

To your question.. real quick I could use a sky/air kit for adventures based on flying in the sky or space.. I could also see a planes/hell kit. Seeing some tables with survival vs a strange plane would be great

I agree the DM screen for an Urban setting would be really nice. I also think that an ocean themed screen could be nice as well, it could include things for ships and sailing as well as underwater adventures. Then I think a screen for the elemental planes could be very specific but also useful if you’re playing an elemental plane based campaign. Both options are not as useful as the two that are out plus the urban one you suggested, but cool ideas none the less.

Any environment like forest, swamp, dungeon, city, etc could make a potentially good place to have a separate dm screen and other tools.

I like the idea of a city screen. Instead of dungeon cards, it could be NPCs with different personalities/traits that you could easily throw in as shopkeepers and such.

    • @Dannydarko27
      @Dannydarko27 2 роки тому

This is for Dungeouns tho, shopkeepers in dungeons is more like God of War than D&D but who am I to judge lol
They need a town/city set with npc cards or generator of sorts, and alley/town layout cards

Surprising they didn’t do a feywild one for Witchlight. Wizards sure picks weird battles for when to make products. Personally, my group almost never uses conditions so I would like to see less of that on the screen and more tables for other things like stat blocks. A more casual, non combat oriented screen would be really good.

I hate the fact that WOTC always waste so much space with the conditions on the screen. The conditions are a standard thing. The screen should have things pertinent to the adventure or setting. The cards are a better idea.

question: does anyone actually use the initiative cards? I don't really see the point of them? i use little tabs on my screen and put both the players and the monsters in the initiative order. if you use these cards that doesn't really help you as a dm to keep track of it?

The back of the DM's screen seems to be completely unrelated to dungeon crawling. Aside from the standard information things like foraging fit in better with the wilderness kit than a dungeon.
