Ava looks absolutely adorable in this button-up shirt--the perfect color, and the ruffles are so cute! ...just a little over-sized of which is the growing trend. I love this look on Ava. She looks so pretty. .
Love this!! What a great idea! The ruffles look fantastic! Thanks for showing us how to do it! Other ideas for this, is use a contrasting color for the ruffles, gathered ribbon, eyelet, use a row of decorative stitching next to the ruffle in a contrasting color. I recently bought some lavender shirting cotton, so I want to try the ruffling!!🙂
I hope you make another shirt like that right away that fits you - it's great! I'm usually a sweatshirt and jeans person, but the last time I was in Goodwill I succumbed to a very pretty Ralph Lauren plaid flannel shirt with a ruffled collar and placket in purple, black and off-white - goes with so many things I own but it's still basically a casual flannel shirt and very useful.
Whitney this turned out beautifully! What a shame with the sleeve mishap😮 but you’ll whip up another one in no time. It will be a lovely addition to your wardrobe. Just love Cashmerette!
Thank you for sharing. I love the biden look. The ruffles add a beautiful feminine element to the standard button up shirt. I am now eager to experiment.
I've seen this style shirt thru the years. Thank you for breaking it down and showing how to hack a regular shirt pattern. My mind is churning now. I just need to find a pattern for myself and give it a go. I want to do short sleeves with a ruffled cuff.
I love being a member of Cashmerette. The master classes are worth the price of admission. How about adding an underarm godet? I've had to do that since I inherited my family's alligator wrestler arms.
❤❤ maybe you could remake the sleeves in your size in a contrast fabric and use the current sleeve fabric to make new cuffs in your size. Not sure it would look right, but might be worth putting some fabrics together to visualise
Ava has grown up to be a beautiful young woman! The recreated Boden blouse is so pretty. Definitely something that I would love to make for myself and wear. Did you say the fabric is lightweight denim?
I am an all access member since the club started. It’s been great! My membership doesn’t end until February, 2025 . If I buy a year with the 25% and the free pattern code, will they prorate the membership end date to February 2026? Cute blouse tutorial! I love your channel!
@TomKatStitchery Thank you so much for your answer about gattering stitches. I did them with stitch 8 on my Destiny. It has a length of 20. I do t remember exactly but I think I did it on 10. No need to answer. Thank you for everything . Happy Thanksgiving dear Wendy.
The blouse is beautiful. I have wanted to do a hack like this for a long time. Now your video is a great reference for adding ruffles to all the places in a shirt. Love it.

Can you use the code to add another year of membership if you are already a member or is it only for new members?
@@laurahovey391 the info they gave me didn’t say it was first time members only, so I would give it a shot!
This is worth bookmarking purely as a ruffle tutorial, never mind the discussion of how to adapt a favourite pattern! Thanks x
You are so welcome!

I think so too!

Oh that will be so pretty! Great suggestions for finishing
Thank you Wendy. I love your Chanel. I have a ruffle foot and it works.
You’re welcome! Glad you found it helpful.
Love the shirt. The ruffles really add some character to it. Hopefully the next one you make will fit fantastic. Thanks for the tutorial.
I agree, they add so much!

it's amazing what the ruffle detail can do to elevate a shirt!
That shirt is adorable! Too bad your daughter doesn't like it because she looks so cute in it! I will definitely be trying it!
Yay!

They are a great company with so many good patterns!

It was so fun to add this as a twist to the classic button up shirt

Oh that would be so cute! I like to browse www.thefoldline.com for lots of patterns-both big 5 and Indie

That's not a bad idea!
Thanks for sharing that some of your sews don't quite turn out as expected ! Love your channel!!
It’s always a learning process! And a reminder to always double check gauge!

That's a really interesting idea!
I would quietly tuck that blouse away, chances are a couple years from now, she might decide that is her style. It looks lovely on her.
I’m sure she will wear it again someday!
Maybe some one will make you a full coverage apron for Christmas to protect your outfits from marinara.😉
I would welcome that!🤣🤣🤣

Yes! I linked the fabric in the description box.
Is it possible to recut the sleeves only? If you have enough fabric and no "wearer" for the current blouse? Looks great.
I don't have any of the current fabric left otherwise I would!
I made similar chambray button up shirt. Is it suppose to fit oversized as far as fashion trends go? Mine fits oversized.
I think it can be however you want it to fit!
Talking about sizing. I just printed off the Cadence pattern for the class. I never saw a Test Square, to make sure the page was printing correctly??
Sometimes the test gauge is on the instruction page. Double check!
Thank you so much I love to see your demos.

I'm not sure how Cashmerette is honoring current memberships--I would check out their website for full details.
Do you use the serger to make the ruffles?
No I used the basting stitch on my regular sewing machine

Yes! And you could add a ruffle to a dress too!
